Could the Ravens be considering a trade for (insert WR here)?

But will he accept the payday? That's the question. You can trade for him, but I'm betting Ozzie isn't giving up a high pick without an extension in place already. We took the chance with Eugene Monroe, but we also had less invested in him via trade. With Alshon, you're talking about giving up a high pick. If he walks, you just gave up a 2nd round pick (just as an example) for a guy that likely didn't make a huge difference in regards to wins and losses.

I get it and understand the risk. I'm just tired of picking up aging wrs who are gone in 3 years and wasting picks on merry-go-round list of late round guys. I'm convinced Camp would be good, if he could stay healthy, but it would be nice to have some young guys and stability.

It's very wishful thinking, on my part.

I have no problem with that. I hope we have decided we won't be relying on guys who we haven't invested much on at WR and actually bet on guys we've heavily invested on like Perriman. Reguardless I think there is a good chance we spend a 1st or 2nd on a WR.

According to Bleacher Report - Bears willing to trade entire roster ...

Lets go get Alshon Jeffery and Kevin White if possible

It's definitely frustrating that our number 1 WRs have always been older guys towards the end of their careers.  I get that for sure, but I just don't think a move for Alshon is in the cards.  There are too many things working against us (loss of draft pick, salary cap, expiring contract, holes elsewhere) for it to be a realistic option, at least in my opinion.

I don't think I'd be willing to trade a first round pick for him. I think a second is also high but possibly fairly commensurate. A third is a bit more palatable since he's a free agent next year and it's not like he'll come cheap. We're also only guaranteed to have him for 12 more games unless we make or go deep in the playoffs.

I don't see his likely impact on team results as being worthy of the price considering the up coming contracts needing attention. I could be wrong but In the long haul a trade for him could do more long term damage than short term help the team expects.

With Jeffery consider that we are only $2mil under the cap.

To get him (being a bonafide top talent) would require a first rounder (min.) and extending his contract (mostly to get the return and to reduce this years salary cap impact).

I would give the first rounder as he is a guaranteed #1 WR, I don't trust Ozzie to make that pick in the draft. he would probably draft a Def Tackle or Off guard with the pick.

Also Jeffery with his Hammy issue is not likely to turn around the season on his own.

I wouldn't be mad if we gave up a first as long as he agree's to an extension, we could likely use our 1st on a WR anyways. I'm not too keen to the idea, I would like a pass rusher with our first but If F.O does it then clearly we're sick of these problems at WR that we have year in and year out, Its frustrating honestly.

Now.. We can turn this into a Chicago bears thread. We have needs other than WR. Would Willie Young be on their trade list. I'd give something up for him. He's a respectable player

To add to this. I'd give a second and maybe a third from next year for Jeffery but ONLY if we can work out an extension as part of the deal... Jeffery is better than most of the players that can be taken in those rounds.

I bet cordarelle Patterson is available,he has completely been cut out of Vikings offense, even with 2 wr's injured he isn't playing, throw minnesota a 5th or 6th for him

I don't want someone who cannot run routes and does not have good hands.

Sorry Torrey, you've gotta go... Oh, wait, you didn't mean him

It's for good reason.  He's as explosive as can be, but he's simply not a very good WR.  His routes are probably some of the worst I've seen.  Combine that with questionable hands, and you have a guy that's going to frustrate you over and over again.  The lack of development from him is quite astounding.

Sounds like Jacoby Jones

Don't think is Jeffrey, but still interesting nonetheless.  Wonder who it could be.

Interesting, on NBC pre-game, @SI_PeterKing says he expects the #Ravens to acquire another wide receiver. We'll see.

OMG, Calvin!!!!!

Wait... That's not captually possible. Nevermind.

Regardless of which, I expect it to be someone this forum blasts.

...Oh dear god no.

@@JoeWedraInteresting name to watch (again) for the #Ravens -- Anquan Boldin. He's not happy in SF. Shocking if they don't at-least ask around.

I'd laugh if we got him back for a 7th.

I love Q... I really do. But the fan backlash would be way too much for me..."We shouldn't have gotten rid of him in the first place" I understand he's not happy in SF. But man. Not him.

Something tells me, we're looking for someone tallish. That's something Trestman digs

Cap presents an issue unless we get some extensions done.  Not just for this "deal" but for pretty much all of them at this point.  Brian McFarland has us at about $1.5M left.

Figured as much and I don't think Q has much left in the tank. Maybe one more season...

Side note. Imagine a team with Q and SSR for one second. DBs would be crying.

I don't think it's going to happen of course, but there's no harm in at least making the call and seeing what it would take.  We could use just about any proven commodity at the position right now.
