Could the Ravens be considering a trade for (insert WR here)?

In the very off chance that the Bears are beyond stupid enough to trade away easily their best player...

Send over a second rounder and reunite Jeffery with Trestman. He already is familiar with the scheme and Flacco would have a weapon he could salavate over.

It's an off chance but I could see the logic. Why would he want to stay with the Bears? They're a mess and Cutler is godawful. He probably leaves next year and the Bears cannot afford him probably. So why get nothing return?

Granted. I don't think Ozzie wants to trade a second rounder for the guy

Ozzie would be stupid not to do it for a 2nd. He is young and proven, and Ozzie sucks at drafting WRs lets get Flacco a stud.

Except for the fact that it would take a lot more than a 2nd to get him

I'd be cool with giving up a 2nd. Maybe even a 3rd & 4th.

Even though it's unlikely, I wouldn't completely dismiss it. Depends on what Jeffery wants as well. Might just wanna cash out in FA. It that's the case and he plans to test the market, there's no way we make that happen.

Also, who knows how he feels about Trestman. I think that's a major factor as well.

Man, he'd be so perfect here. Just the thought makes me excited.

@AllbrightNFL: For what its worth two contacts in Chicago have said Matt Forte is on the block...Jeffrey isn't.

I figured. Bears would admittedly be stupid to trade him.

It depends because right now he's hurt. He has solid production but he hasn't proven he can produce big numbers with out Brandon Marshall. Not taking shot at him as receiver but that is some legit concerns since he is hurt right now and etc.

I doubt they'd ship him away but that would be quite a get.

I can't imagine they would ship him away either.  However he would be amazing in purple with Flacco throwing him the ball in Trestman's offense!

After trading Jared Allen and Jon Bostic, teams are inquiring about Matt Forte and Alshon Jeffrey. If I was Ozzie I would be calling the Bears right now and throw up a 3rd or 4th round pick on the table for him, the Bears would probably consider anything for him.

I would be surprised if the Bears do not trade Jeffrey...he is in the final year of his contract and likely to test free agency next year, and the Bears season is essentially a bust right now and the team looks to be in rebuild mode.

Steve Smith, Alshon Jeffrey, Breshad Perriman, Gilmore, Williams and potentially Pitta too...that's a Ravens receiving group no fan has ever seen.

Yeah, but they are trading away Defensive Players that don't fit the mold of the new 3-4 defense they installed this year.

No.. Just because KO is currently playing bad does not mean you give him up right now. He could turn it around.

I would bet more than not, that Jeffery is safe from a trade

Can we delete this? I just got so excited (even though I intelligently doubted it) when I saw this thread. That would do worlds of awesomeness for us, assuming he can block for Forsett and keep OLBs off Flacco. Ha. For real though, would love this to happen, but obviously it will not.

Well I suppose I could use the jedi mind tricks on the Bears GM and Jeffery's agent. It did work when I asked for Monroe

I know, everyone who posted has been unanimous that yeah, we should do it. But someone even posted a link in the thread that the bears aren't trading him but this is still getting responses

I think we should becnh him for Urschel.  Urschel's a quality player and healthy.

I don't think Ozzie wants to trade a second rounder for the guy

I would like for us to be able to give Chicago our second and a couple picks for him. Problem being is this, now granted our cap was an issue in the off-season. If Ozzie didn't give up a 5th for Brandon Marshall, I highly doubt he would give up a second and multiple picks for Jeffery. Then again, I didn't think we end up trading for Monroe who was a top LT at the time we traded for him.

I know Ozzie loves his draft picks, but now here's a chance to get a young, proven WR instead of an aging veteran WR for a change. Jeffery is likely to walk anyway with Chicago rebuilding, be it this year or in 2017 since the Bears will likely franchise him in the off-season. He knows Trestman's system, and he's the guy that can give Joe a reliable weapon on offense.

Sadly it won't happen at least until next week. With the coaches and players preparing for Thursday, any trade talks won't happen until after the Steelers game.

We don't know if the Bears are really attempting to trade Alshon.

IMO, I would give a 2nd.

You think they're going to give away a proven young WR for a second round pick? That's hilarious. They're not giving away their team just because they got rid of a declining old player and average LB.

If they feel they can't keep him going into contract year then yeah. A 2nd should do it, unless someone offers a 1st.

I don't think Alshon is available either but if they do decide they want to trade him then yeah, a 2nd would be a price to offer.

When a team does a house cleaning - guys like Allen become available. I'd be shocked if they blew their roster up to the level of getting rid of a quality, young WR like Alshon.

the only WR i can see the ravens trade for is Patterson from the Vikings, WR/PR/KR, triple threat. we need an explosive/speedy player that stretch the D, and he can do that.

This thread is utterly ridiculous. We aren't trading for anyone else.  The boat has to many leaks and it is time to pull it out of the water. Lookin at top 5 draft picks--wooohoooo

Jeffrey would be fantastic, assuming the FO has a plan to keep him beyond this season. I'll believe it when I see it though.

As for Forte, I wouldn't necessarily be opposed but I'd much rather we beefed up our run blocking. As it stands I think we'd make him look pretty woeful running behind our OL (as much as I hate to say it). And if he's on the block I think the price someone else would be willing to pay would be more than we should be stumping up for an ambulance that's already off the cliff.

So I'd love to see Jeffrey but don't think it would happen, and Forte is too much of a luxury at this point for the logistics to work.

I'd like to see the FO abandon trying to draft wrs. They're not good at it. Just poach em from other teams and keep it moving. Let that be the one position well pay or trade for.

Actually, I'm perfectly fine with this. We have a pretty good track record with that.

Sign-Derrick Mason

Trade-Anquan Boldin

Sign-Steve Smith

Well. Pattern dictates trade. FIND SOMEONE

But those are all possession receivers north of 30. Can't we ever break the bank for a #1 in his prime? A mam can dream....

Yes. A mam can dream.

Anywho, yeah. Change is good right. But I doubt it'll be Jeffery. It doesn't make sense. And didn't we get boldin when he was in his later 20s?

Except for Smith and Gilmore, I dont recall us having any other receivers, and Crocket was mia 2nd half Sunday
