Could the Ravens be considering a trade for (insert WR here)?

Didn't we get a sixth round pick for Boldin?I don't remember the front office getting a third rounder for him. Also,Tate is about 5 years younger than Boldin was and is coming off a good career in seattle and a 90+ catch,1300+ yard season.I think Detroit will want a second and his price will be atleast a third and a fourth or/and a player.Seattle just gave up a first Jimmy Graham and Tates worth is only a few notches under Graham's.

I assume he means when we traded FOR Boldin.

what u guys think of vikings PATTERSON?

Patterson is Torrey but with worse hands and worse route running. Rookie Torrey Smith was better than Patterson.

stay away from golden tate. ive read stories that hes not a locker room type we want around.

So is Steve smith but that's been going pretty well. This team needs personality.

Tate is very unhappy with the current state of the lions playcalling , and to be fair it is really atrocious.

Would it be better here?

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, probably.

Where did this news about Tate being traded or available for trade come up? Iv been searching and found nothing.

Apparently Aaron Wilson reported it on 105.7 last night as being a possibility. Though, to be fair, I think it's a long shot. Also, Wilson has not said a word about it anywhere else.

He's still a little off then.We didn't trade a 3rd and a 7th for Boldin.We traded a 3rd and a 4th and received a 5th.

Yeah, Its a long shot. Tate had a career year in Detroit, doubt they would even trade him.

I mentioned this before in this thread.. steve smith and golden tate are two completely different personalities

SSS is one hard dude and tate is not. tate will not bring "personality" to this team that will benefit

Edit: for example, when we went 0-3 SSS said they need to be grown men and step up their game.

Golden tate is 0-4 and he's complaining to the press and others that he doesnt get the ball. big difference

I could see something like this :

Det  Sends: Golden Tate

Baltimore Sends : Kelechi Osemele  + 3rd round pick to Detroit

Detroit is in dire need of a quality Guard.

On Nfl.com they mentioned wideout Rishard Matthews and cover man Brent Grimes as being possible trade mates for the ravens given their current situation in Miami at the moment. Wonder if that would be possible, both could require mid to low round draft picks.

Grimes needs to stay put based on his wife alone, she is a nutcase.

One guy's imaginative speculation has led to this idea of Tate being a trade possibility.

I would hope Matthews would be like a 6 or 7. Hasnt done much in the NFL and was originally a 7th rounder. Wouldn't really want either way.

Why in the world would be do something as dumb as that? Especially without the Yanda deal?

  • KO is having a terrible year, between being a turnstyle and a penalty machine
  • He will demand big $$$ ,
  • you have Urschel waiting
  • Yanda will be re-signed

I saw that as well. I don't know a lot about him, but what I've seen of Rishard Matthews, he's looked pretty good and he's putting up decent numbers (of course, on a team that has had a lot of garbage time receiver stat potential and a true #1 in Landry that allows Matthews to get less attention).

No idea what Miami has in their plans for him. I know the team is in peril, but I don't know that they're going to start dumping players now.

Matthews is not worth much more then a 7th round pick to us and Grimes has a huge contract on top of being a pro bowl player last year.  We could not afford Grimes and he would be worth atleast a 2nd round pick for how well he has played the last few years.  We may make another trade or we might not, but we should all temper our expectations because I doubt it will be any big name guys.  We only have roughly 1.5 million in cap space left!

I don't think Miami starts a fire sale unless they lose 3-4 (more) games in a row. They do have a solid WR corps though :

Landry

Parker

Stills

Mathews

KO and a 3rd round pick seem like quite steep compensation even with his recent struggles. I think this deal is very unfavorable for the Ravens and thus I don't like it at all. Edited by GrimCoconut

I agree its steep but he is on a cheap contract compared to production, is in the prime of his career and I don't trust the front office to find a WR his caliber within the first 3 rounds.

I just don't like it at all and I wouldn't give that compensation. I think we could find a WR of his calibre early, it's just been bad luck for us--that's all. Perriman may buck that trend whenever he sees the field.

Wait what? That would be a good trade. K.O has under preformed quiet honestly and I heavily doubt we're keeping him, we would be getting more than something for him by trading him for a star WR. How is that a bad deal?  We also have  a back up in Urschel who could get right in and start immediately, who's bound to be his replacement when K.O departs. I don't know if Detroit accepts but gosh I would love that scenario.

KO doesn't look as dominant as last year, but he's still playing well, especially in getting to the second level. He might be gone after the year, sure, but I see no reason to move him, especially with a high draft pick. Urschel certainly looks to be the future there, but there's no reason to give up an important player plus a high pick.

What leads you to believe they buck the trend? 20 years of drafting history leads me to conclude the alternative.

According to PFF (take it how you want)

Baltimores O-line is ranked 29th out of 32, with Yanda being the only bright spot.
