Could the Ravens be considering a trade for (insert WR here)?

578 posts in this topic

To be honest with you guys here, I would like to see our young players getting some shots now.

There was so much hype for waller, aiken and brown during camp and now is there chance to really shine. nobody expected one of those (besides aiken) getting significant playing time this year.

Their time is now. Let´s see what they can do. No need for a trade in my opinion. further develop the run game and stick to ravens smash mouth football...

Aiken stepped up a bit against the Steelers, but is probably still not starter material. I'm not even convinced Brown should currently be on the team, but I guess we don't have anything else really. Waller is still incredibly raw.

Rolling with the young guys is the reason we're in this situation right now. I think it was made obvious that none of these guys are good starting options right now. I can accept Aiken as a spot starter, but him as the full time #2 has been rough.

I disagree. rolling with those guys has nothing to to with us being in that position. from my point of view we could easily be 4-0 if we would have been able to put together a team effort in all of those games. one time it was defense, one time it was the lack of running game. All in all it wash´t the offense that struggled from my point of view.

the thing is that they now get a chance that would have never ever been there if wash´t for all those injuries. it is good to get an understanding about what those guys are able to do as this could impact future decisions as well.

So the Golden Tate rumor is true.. we is a really good Wide out with Potential to be great..It would be nice if we get him, but I didn't want to get my hopes up too high. Lol when's the trade deadline?

Waller is really an unknown and to put it bluntly Aiken and Brown suck. The WR talent shortfall is astounding.

Name another WR corps that is as bad as Baltimores?

Aiken - Crap

Brown - Crap (and on PS)

Camp - Made of tissue paper

Smith - Retiring and broken back/ribs

M Brown - Plays like he is 5'3" and 110lbs

Perriman - "Blessed"

Givens - unsure if we get 2012 or 2013/14 Givens

If you're going to make an outlandish proposal, you might as well shoot for the moon.

Calvin Johnson's contract will be 24 million dollars against the cap next year. Detroit will undoubtedly need to make a change there. He's also 30 and on a team that has an even worse record.

I'll see myself out...

Don't take that too seriously, okay?

That said, I wouldn't be shocked or even surprised if Oz makes another move, but it will probably come out of left field.

Don't see how that is outlandish at all. He did fumble the ball for Detroit so this means we can get him for a 6th rounder and Detroit will cover almost all of his salary so we can fit him under the salary cap. Makes perfect sense ;)

3 weeks #WaitingGame

It really should be much later than that, Trades are exciting and some teams might need to ramp up for the playoffs while others could use the picks if they are already out of it.

when i watched the lions and seahawks game, thats the only thing i could think about.

horrible team with losing record, with an aging yet still elite WR that could obviously excel with the right team. the lions could very well be trading off players to rebuild toward seasons end. why not start now? some people may think its too far fetched but with the right negotiating skills, I think we could very well have a chance at snatching CJ whether its this season or next. i can see it happening. if he keeps playing mediocre like he has this season i dont see him costing an arm and a leg. really isnt a pipe dream if you think about it.

Record withstanding, it's clear from watching that the WRs we have now just aren't capable of being full time targets.

Golden Tate would be a dream come true. He was my wish list receiver when he became a free agent because he was so good in Seattle, but didn't put up good enough stats to really be too expensive. I'd love that move

They will not let Megatron go... When Megatron is on there is no one in the NFL who can stop him. I will not give up the farm for him either, the asking price is way too high...

Tate on the other hand, send over a third rounder.

Have to agree. And you could make the argument that we were in every game with what we have. The problem is we won't have Sr, who was our only real target for an undetermined amount of time. If we have to rely on Marlon and Akien as our top 2, we will be in serious trouble.

I'd be really happy with Tate, him and Steve would be a great duo. Tate would require a pretty hefty pick though.

Boldin commanded a third and seventh. Can't see Tate going for more than that, if that, with how lackluster his start has been.

Tate is very unhappy with the current state of the lions playcalling , and to be fair it is really atrocious.

No, no, no. Webby's a starter at a shallow position. We don't want 2015' wrs + 2014's dbs.

But Detroit clearly likes to have alot of Ravens on their roster, so I like where you're going.

In all seriousness, it sure would be nice to have CJ's teammate. I didn't realize that Tate played so well last year.

stay away from golden tate. ive read stories that hes not a locker room type we want around.

Didn't people say Smith Sr. was also a bad locker room presence? Yet here he is, beloved by team and fans.

A lot of Tate's big games came because Megatron was out. Megatron just eats way too many targets.

I've always liked Tate. I'd be really happy if we got him, but I must admit it doesn't sound likely. It also doesn't sound like an Ozzie move.

apples and oranges. steve is one tough guy with heart and is loyal to the organization. he may come off brash to some in the locker room only because he pushes players, which is what we need here in bmore.

golden tate is the contrary. hes a priss with the "my way or highway" attitude. he doesnt belong here. keep em away.

I have a feeling that Tate is a complainer. All this griping he's doing to the media wouldn't fly here when we were 0-3 ravens weren't complaining about play calling because we don't do that here.

white might b a possibility, especially if they keep not throwing the ball to him. but megtron and tate are not likely.

Comes off to me as such too. I like what he offers, but I've never been a fan of his attitude. I'd certainly prefer him to Roddy White though. He hasn't done much in years and finds a way to complain about blocking.

I'd be ok with giving up a second for him.

Didn't we get a sixth round pick for Boldin?I don't remember the front office getting a third rounder for him. Also,Tate is about 5 years younger than Boldin was and is coming off a good career in seattle and a 90+ catch,1300+ yard season.I think Detroit will want a second and his price will be atleast a third and a fourth or/and a player.Seattle just gave up a first Jimmy Graham and Tates worth is only a few notches under Graham's.
