Could the Ravens be considering a trade for (insert WR here)?

Hypothetical:  Boldin supposedly entices Torrey to join him in frisco then abandons ship to go back to the team Torrey left in the first place to be in frisco with him?

All of the talk on the 49ers forum about Torrey is how he's probably regretting leaving a team with a good QB.  Its pretty great over there right now.  Would be even funnier if Anquan came back to us on the cheap.

That being said, when has Ozzie made a move that was high up on the newsreel?

In regards to a trade I mean.

SSS and Dumervil are both splashy moves that Ozzie has made in recent memory, but that's just Ozzie being a wizard in the free agent market.

Can't say I recall.  Not trading for high end players is a strategy that's worked in the past.  I mean look at how many times we've been to the playoffs in recent history.  So much money goes out to some of these players and not too often do they pan out.  Of course there's always the exceptions like Revis.  Not that we couldn't use the help though.

Eugene Monroe was a pretty big deal. It may not have been high compensation, and Monroe may not look as good now, but that was a pretty big trade at the time.

Anquan had no say in going to Sam Fran. And would have no say in coming back to Baltimore.

A playoff push with Smitty, White, Aiken, Givens and probably Perriman gives me some hope... If they are all healthy.

I don't believe a trade become a serious discussion unless wrs fail badly this and the next game, or a surprise falls into their lap. Other than that I believe they wait for the draft. Money is tight! They are unlikely to spend for the same caliber of wr they already have and not likely to trade a high draft pick for someone they cannot afford to keep.

And i think that would be a mistake if you mean by a first rounder again.  We would have zero veteran prefernce at wr unless you want to count Aiken, a league journymen.  Granted, we dont know what we have in BP yet but i think we will get an idea late this year.  Im sticking to my predictions for next that we aquire Vincent Jackson, Pierre Garcon, or Roddy White, with White be the least attractive to myself, just something i have been saying for a bit.  I dont think we can take another first wround WR, we will either go pass rusher or cb imo

Let's get Pierre, he's the youngest of that bunch.

Is he allowed to play this year?

I like WR from Jacksonville Allen Robinson. WE traded with them in the past for Eugene and I'm not sure if we traded for Daryl Smith. Robinson is a deep threat. Blake Borttles reminds me of Flacco a little bit

Robinson is also their #1 WR on a rookie contract for 2+ more years. Why would they get rid of him?

Aaron Wilson Just said there are rumours about us ans Golden Tate

No source because it was radio but there are tweets that we are still active for a WR.

I did hear and see this quite a few times this morning. Makes sense being that he's more of a long term option. We'd have his rights for 3 more years, if we wanted of course.

How will we be able to fit him in? Obviously we're giving up a very high pick. Edited by PurpleCity5

I think this is more of a hypothetical thread.  I really don't see a fire sale going on anywhere out there anywhere.

I hate when we're rumored to be interested in a position and then every expert links us to every WR that's unhappy, on a losing team, aging, or on an expiring deal...

I mean I've heard Boldin, Roddy White, Eddie Royal, Golden Tate, V-Jax, and this ones pure fan speculation but Alshon Jeffery. Gets you all excited, because I'd literally be very happy with most of them - especially Boldin (sentimental reasons), Tate, or Royal.

But then reality happens and we actually trade for Adam Thielen from the Vikings.

If you're going to make an outlandish proposal, you might as well shoot for the moon.

Calvin Johnson's contract will be 24 million dollars against the cap next year. Detroit will undoubtedly need to make a change there. He's also 30 and on a team that has an even worse record.

I'll see myself out...

Don't take that too seriously, okay?

That said, I wouldn't be shocked or even surprised if Oz makes another move, but it will probably come out of left field.

It's not a proposal its a rumour that I'm sharing with yall.

Golden Tate has an escalating Contract and a base salary of 750k. Plus he is currently outspoken about Detroit's struggles.

Having Boldin back right now makes alot of sense.

Would really be a perfect timing tbh. Plus I got my old boldin Jersey in the closet. Time to bring the old 81 back!

To be honest with you guys here, I would like to see our young players getting some shots now.

There was so much hype for waller, aiken and brown during camp and now is there chance to really shine. nobody expected one of those (besides aiken) getting significant playing time this year.

Their time is now. Let´s see what they can do. No need for a trade in my opinion. further develop the run game and stick to ravens smash mouth football...
