Jared Allen as a Raven?

Why couldn't we have picked up Jared Allen?  He was acquired for a 6th round draft choice?  His pressure on the QB would have definitely helped our mediocre secondary.  There has been so much praise for Ozzie & the FO but as of late, they seem to be failing miserably.

Allen and the Bears met and discussed trade options to 4-3 teams. He wasn't a fit for the 3-4, and Allen wanted to go back to the comfortable scheme for him.

Not a scheme fit, as rmw said. 1-year rental most likely, too, wouldn't be surprised to see him retire after the season.

He's not a Raven. It's posted in Raven's Talk. He's also not a scheme fit. There's also the fact we have an aging vet, in Babin, who still hasn't dressed yet.

Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't disagree but you act like we didn't try. Maybe we did but they wanted to send him to Carolina? I mean, it's not always so black and white. I understand you're mad and want the team to win, but I don't think Allen would've helped us. He hasn't looked good in a 3-4.

Right, guy has proven in Chicago that he isn't a scheme fit in a 3-4. Why would we give up a draft pick for a player who is a 1 year rental(unless we want to pay him 8 mil on the cap next year) who doesn't fit our scheme?
