[News] Late For Work 9/29: 6 Ravens Players That Give You Hope

91 posts in this topic

Two major issues identified in Feb 2015: secondary and receivers. Two major issues still in October 2015: secondary and receivers. Other than for injuries, that dilemma is a result of the front office not doing due diligence to the major issues besetting the Ravens.

if the ravens do not beat the squeelers than it is going a long season. the Bengals loss i really blame on defense and offense slow start. Also why is Jason Badbin not playing he been inactive for 2 games in a row

Where are the guys at who kept praising Kamar Aiken during the offseason-preseason Lol???? THe ones that kept negging and quoting my comments when I said to cut him and replace him with Daniel BRown.

The [other receivers] have disappeared most games. There is no speed, athleticism or separation from defenders

Ravens fans have been saying this for a few years now, do you think the FO will start to take notice to this fact? Steve Smith Sr can't do it all by himself - it's time for the other receivers to WAKE UP!!!

When everyone on the line but Yanda has negative grades is it a wonder that Joe and the running game struggle? Who was in charge of the line in 2013 and who is in charge now? Rumor (from articles here that hinted at it) was that Gary ran the line by directly taking to them last year.

Maxx Williams will pan out nicely eventually, he's on the right path. Gilmore already has and hopefully, we'll see him play against the Steelers, he has the right kind of attitude for the match-up. Though he hasn't shined this season, Marlon Brown ain't a lost cause, give him more snaps, let us see whether he can capitalize on that.

A lot of Ravens players give me hope, they just need to start coming together and playing the way we know they can, the "Raven" way, Relentless, and "Ball so Hard"..... Everything in life has its highs and lows, but I will NEVER give up on my team....... :)

Good article. We need to remember the positives and the players standing out which can be over looked due to the losses. I agree Cincy seems a top NFL team thus far, hence we did very good keep close score to them. Denver and Oakland also rolling along with the wins...and we played close ball with them. Perspective.

Besides adding Joe to that list, I have to add Gillmore as well. I have a ton of confidence in Gillmore to be a real asset to the offense. Just hope his injury isn't serious and that he is back on the field soon.

Shouldn't Joe be the 7th player to give hope ? I mean, he's doing what he's doing with literally one WR.

And with zero running game.  I agree, Joe should be on this list.

Nice clip of Timmy ... and I hate to nit pick, but at some point, the RB needs to be his concern. The focus is on the ball. The goal to this is not just manhandling the guy in front of you, but preventing him from keeping you away from the ball.

Wonderful that he got his good PFF grade, but we need to see him get some QB pressure as well and I've not seen it. I realize we're throwing a lot on his young shoulders, but with only one edge rusher on the team, pressure on the QB up the middle is critical and it is now his job.

C'mon Timmy ... show everyone that you were indeed a 1st round talent that we got a steal on in round 2.

Exactly.. Timmy just got played for a fool on that play. There was a reason why the center let him push him that far, that's to take him out the play. For some reason or the other he doesn't get what his job is. His job is to actually stop the running back from penetrating the line and make him bounce to the outside. He needs to stop worrying about getting sacks and worry about taking up space and getting his hands in the air blocking passing lanes.

We have a 6 foot 6 receiver in Darren Waller%u2026 why. aren't. we. using. him!!!!! With Gilmore potentially out, I think Max Williams will have a breakout game this week, 5 rec. 80 yards 1 TD%u2026

We need to get the running game going. Can't be sending Forsett up the middle, their is no push by the offensive line. Need more plays like the one with Campanaro out of the backfield. Joe needs to take off a couple of times to keep the defense honest.

Hurst is literally on track to being the worst graded tackle in PFF history. We need Monroe back badly.

Forsett was predictably another Kubiak fluke.

If we go 4-4 into the bye week, i will be content… our schedule looks promising after that, jags, rams, browns, dolphins (8-4) or (7-5) seems reasonable

Bye is after week 7, 3-4 is the ideal scenario (4-3 is possible too but I don't see us running the table).

i wouldn't be hating on Aiken either, he has beaten the secondary twice so far, and Flacco badly under threw him, or they would have been walk in TD's.....

Actually, Week 9 is our bye week… After we play the Chargers, nice try though
