[News] Finding Confidence Key For Turnaround

Defense with Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs, and Haloti Ngata: "Bend and twist them until they break."

Defense after: "Let them bend you and pray to God that you don't break."

Whoever tells you that the NFL has changed too much and blah blah blah. The truth still holds. Successful teams even now build defenses to hunt the offense aggressively, bait QBs into errors, and bully WRs at the LOS.

Unsuccessful defenses build themselves with loser mentalities like "mitigating losses" and "controlling the damage" and "bend but don't break."

Football is either a game of primal aggression, or it is nothing.

People say Jimmy was visibly shaken up after the game. I mean the guy was only tasked with shutting down Demariyus Thomas, the first overall WR taken in this year's draft in Amari Cooper, AJ Green, and now the "Jack Rabbit" Antonio Brown in the first 4 weeks.

I know he's supposed to be an elite shut down guy, but cmon, let's be honest, being seeded against those guys is a pretty crappy way to have to start your season as a CB, I don't care if you're Revis, Sherman, or Jimmy.

Keep your chin up Jimmy and keep grinding. You're still our guy.

*incidentally Thomas and Green were also the first overall WRs taken in their respective drafts. Interesting factoid.

The Ravens are the only team that can beat the pats! Gotta keep slinging that Rock to these young wide outs and let them get comfortable! Moving the pocket pump fakes and Joe running will help big time! This is Joe Flacco team and he has to take us there!

I do think there is a crack in the team confidence level, as well as some individuals. However, Harbs has the right, constructive approach. If this is hell, keep going til you climb your way out. Those players like Jimmy who are beating themselves up right now will regain their confidence with hard work, determination and perseverence. Also, the coaches have a responsibility to the players to put them in the best possible schemes and plays to succeed. If Harbs makes some changes with the coaches as well, a return of self and team confidence is achievable and the coaching strategy changes need to happen now.

"We also have to get our minds in check and make sure that we want to go out there and win a football game," quarterback Joe Flacco said. "That's what it's all about. It's going out there and playing for the guy beside you, picking him up when needed and going and winning a football game, no matter what the circumstance.

^ Now that's my Quarterback!

GET YOUR MINDS RIGHT!

GO RAVENS!

I know it sucks to be 0-3 and no Ravens fan has felt this way before but the way the schedule sets up they could be right in the thick of a things at the end of the season. Six home games starting November 1st is gonna help and the next 3 games are winnable. I'm not saying they are gonna run the table the rest of the way but as fans we need to support them and let the team take care of itself. We all have ideas of whats wrong but it doesn't matter. Let the coaches coach and the front office make the moves it needs to make to help the team get back on track.

I'll have to remember that motto "When you're going through hell, keep going" whenever I feel down in life. I like that motto. I'll have to get a t-shirt printed with that motto. Come hell or high water, I will be there as a fan no matter what. You can do it guys, go give'em hell boys!!!

It hurts me to say it Raven fans but i believe we are looking at another loss. Vick is no stiff all he has to do is manage the game. The front office has to rethink their way of doing business starting this coming offseason.

It would be a great thing if this "hell" brings out the leaders in the quiet guys like flacco and Mosely. Mosely plays like a beast.. he should carry that type of confidence too.

I have CONFIDENCE that we will be drafting in the 6-12 range! Come on guys thats pretty exciting for us! Every now and then you have to be honest with yourself....... we just arent that good this year. I look for a high draft pick and Ozzie's magic to make us a force next year

What a load of crap. "Finding confidence"? What they need is to find talent especially in the defensive backfield. Jimmy Smith played too soft on Green, letting him take off from the line of scrimmage. Safeties? What safeties? They were nowhere to be found. Once the corner got beat, touchdown time. OMG, Arrington? This guy really sucks. He is another one who can't cover anyone. Only Webb played well. No pressure, no coverage. Once again have two leads in the fourth quarter and once again, no defense. Worst defense in Ravens history. It will not get better with "confidence".

Being a relatively young team I do think they need the caliber of playing confidence veterans carry. How did veterans get to that point? By pushing beyond disappointments and adversity...not avoiding it thru perfect playing...perfect playing is born out of tough knocks. So I think the younger players need to keep their heads held high and find a way out of this 0-3 hell.
