[News] Joe Flacco Wants To Spread The Ball More

76 posts in this topic

Joe wont say it but its inferred. He wants to get the ball to "Players who are RELIABLE" Smith Sr is a reliable target, Gillmore is becoming a reliable target. When Aiken fumbles a easy catch vs the Raiders Flacco loses faith in his reliability, when Brown drops a easy crossing route Flacco has no faith in his reliability.

Like everyone with a brain said before the season...its Steve Smith and the Question Marks. This organization way overvalued Aiken and Brown. They are "Just Guys" thats not going to get it done as your no.2-3 WRs every down in the new NFL!

What's going on with Crockett Gilmore? He disappeared from the game yesterday. Gilmore is the best offensive weapon after SSS and we cannot under utilize him if healthy. If injured, what is the nature of the injury, how serious and what's the prognosis? Is this info top secret since I have heard nothing yet? If Gilmore has a ding, I'll get over it. If Gilmore has an actual injury, hope it's not serious or I may need anti-depressants with all the other imploding going on with my beloved Ravens team so far. Gilmore is ready to make his mark in this league and will come up big for the Ravens. If Gilmore was simply taken out of the game plan for no reason, that's too foolish to even consider so something must be up. Info please.

Im sorry Steve Sr. your farewell tour has been a nightmare. The front office did nothing to help you sail away into the sunset with a SB ring. And Im afraid Suggs is watching from home saying: "I'm gonna rehab my recently torn achilles tendon to come back to this crap???... Nah retirement sounds so much better. I'll save myself the embarrassment."

How about we rund the ball more. What's even more important, run more effectively. If we can run the ball WRs will be open and we don't have to throw it to Smith all the time.

The sad thing is Brandon Lloyd, Hakeem Nicks, Donny Avery, Santana Moss....there are several veteran and still rather young free agent WRs who could boost our offense... Better then Aiken or Brown yet this organization refuses to make moves. The panthers traded a 6th for Jared Allen, yet we cant give 27 yr old Hakeen Nicks a shot, or 30-31 yr old Avery or Lloyd Im willing to bet anything those guys are more productive then Aiken or Brown.. And brinf them in on vet minimum.

Flacco saying he wants to spread the ball more is a direct jab to the front office. GET ME MORE, RELIABLE TARGETS! A 36yr old WR is not enough especially when you play in the AFC North. Everybody saw this coming during preseason. Even Sarah Ellison said her biggest concern this season was that Aiken was not good enough to be a WR2 in any of the other teams he played for, what makes the front office think he was gonna live up to the expectations here in Bmore. Blunder nation.

"ABORT" the run game for now and let Joe "LOOSE"! It's the only way to get this team out this funk! I'm not with some others saying our WRs can't get the job done but play calling gotta get better to get them open! We pass we win we run we lose!

When Flacco said he wants to get everyone involved more, he was answering a question, and I am assuming he was just being a good teammate. If he was honest he probably would have said, "I would love to be able to get the ball to someone besides our 36 y/o WR, but we simply don't have anyone else that can get open or make plays." I am surprised Camp hasn't seen more snaps. He converted a big 3rd and 10 Sunday, and he's been able to get separation when he's been on the field, but I keep seeing Aiken and Brown out there and no Camp.

Marlon was open on that last play, but he dropped one earlier and lost Joe's trust. He stepped in nicely in 2013 and I really think he has potential, much like Aiken, to be solid #3 and #4 option.. But our #2 has to be Perriman.

Out of Camp, Brown and Aiken, we have to hope one or two really develop this year because next year we're without Smith

It seems like a lot of writers knew Trestman was pass happy kinda like Cam. Ravens don't put enough emphasis on running the ball. Give the ball to Buck and LT. Spread offense is not Ravens AFC North Football. Ravens lose when Flacco has 35 or more attempts.

This is UNACCEPTABLE. I said it so many times in the past on this site. It's not that our WRs suck and can't get open. It's that Joe zones in on one or two WRs. Funny thing is in this article Joe is BLAMING it on Trestman. HEY JOE, you are an 8th year QB! Grows some EGGS and change the play if you disagree. His comments above are hot garbage!

If every time a WR dropped a pass and a QB stopped throwing him the ball, it would be a "run happy" league. Brady put no name wide WRs on his back and carried them into the post season a couple of years ago. Joe ought to be able to do the same.

Joe has had a 384 and 364 yd game b-to-b. That strategy isn't working. granted the defense is falling on its face in the 4th, but it would be nice if the offense could string together two series of downs in the first half. 3 and outs the entire first half hurts the D.

%u201CWe need to get some other guys some similar amount of opportunities and see what they can do and get their confidence going and make them believe that they can make those plays down the stretch because they can.%u201D IDK but that sounds like they may be moving on and trying the rest of the roster out to see how they do.... I hope they give Waller a solid amount of chances, I really think him, perrimen, and williams, along with gilmore is the future of this team.

Joe's not playing well either. How many throws has he missed? Wide open targets too. Not all on the receivers if the QB can't throw the ball how are they supposed to catch it? Deja Vu all over again with the Offensive slow starts and Joe needs to be accountable for his poor play. He makes more money than anyone else on this team and he certainly should play better than he has.

This offense lost Torrey Smith and Owen Daniels. Gilmore does Daniels job just fine, maybe better. I find it had to believe losing Smith affects the offense this much. So....I have to look at the OC.

What good is scoring faster if your defense could not stop a high school team from scoring! We need to find a way to run again. Strange we can not run again. I had a feeling Justin was one year and done.

Joe's an 8 year veteran QB and a Super Bowl MVP if he can't lead this offense to better production or build a rapport with his receivers then it's time for him to go play tennis. This is the NFL and he is one of 32 men in the world with that privilege. He's getting paid as an elite QB it's time for him to rise up and play like it. Tired of him lobbing the ball and not hitting wide open targets other than Steve Smith.

We need to let Flacco throw the ball more. We kill ourselves trying to force this run first philosophy. The play calling becomes predictable. We run the ball in too many 2nd and long situations. Then when the run gets stuffed were forced into an obvious passing situation. Pass first. Run the ball on 2nd and short or 3rd and short.

Quit blaming Flacco for everything. Two weeks in a row he put us in a position to win and the defense blew it. Ladarius Webb might be done and I don't know whats going on with Jimmy Smith. And what ever happened to tackling or is that not a thing anymore?
