Can we start Terrence Brooks already?

You guys say I think Terrence Brooks is the best player ever and does nothing wrong and I've never said that, not once.

I don't think anyone is accusing you of that

On the subject of Brooks, if he can't make it as a FS I say try him at slot CB more than we have. Maybe put him out there in the dime. I'm not sure he's got the instincts to play FS but I do think he could play there effectively.

I hope he makes it at FS because we need that the most, but I think he could play well at slot corner as you said. I don't think it's an instincts issue with him though. He showed good instincts on that tackle for loss vs. Browns in week 5 (he was at slot CB though). I think it could be more of a learning and decision making issue with him though.

Eh, I don't know. FS instincts are slightly different than those of the slot CB. It takes a certain amount of football iq to succeed as a FS and he may or may not have that. I do think he's effective in the slot, so there's hope for him regardless and I agree that I'd prefer him at FS.

I hope he becomes that player I believed he could be coming out of FSU.

Yeah that's why I mentioned he was at slot CB on that play, but the truth is we need to see more of him at FS or wherever to see what he truly is because of right now all we know is he's got potential. Plus our DB coaches and Dean Pees aren't really helping him become what he could be. I wish we had better coaches and maybe Ed Reed to mentor him, that would be awesome.

At this point we might as well through Brooks into the fire. Seasons over, might as well see if he's a bum. KLew played pretty good today though.

The season is officially over and the kid needs a shot. You can tell he wants it. Hopefully the coaches will do this and at least give him a fair shot and not just play him for a little bit. Safety is a position that takes time to get a rhythm with so he might need time to get his feet wet. Too bad we only have four games left...

Yeah hopefully at this point the coaches will let him get some good playing time and experience. You can tell that he's very determined to get some playing time. He was so excited to return that blocked kick today which was called back sadly (it could've won us the game if all went the same afterwards) and he wanted that kick-six play so bad that he actually tried stripping the ball out of Will Hill's hands lol. Kendrick did FINALLY make a play today, but he is still just average and might not even be on the team next year, who knows though, Harbaugh loves him for some reason.

I liked the little I saw of Brooks today. I think it's him anyway. Lol. Pretty sure it was.

On defense? I don't think he has played a snap on defense since his before his injury. Which is the only reason he got in. Injuries lol. They played him more his rookie year which doesn't make since. Maybe they didn't like Darian Stewart as much as K. Lewis.

Not sure about defense. I recall him playing on ST today when he nearly got another kick-six. Lol. I was at work so I could only watch here and there.

Sorry man I didn't know you weren't watching it, but yeah he played special teams all day and did really well just like last week. We all know he's a solid special teams player, but hopefully we can see him out there on the defense one of these days. Only 4 games left this season so it will be hard to truly evaluate him even if he started those games, which obviously won't happen. I was happy to see him get that second "kick-six" though until I saw it got called back. He really wanted that one last week too. Seems like he can't catch a break lol.

It's time to play a lot of our younger players now including T. Brooks, A. Brown, Z. Orr, B. Urban, and even D. Brown. We literally have less than a 1% chance to make playoffs, maybe less, so why not play these guys at this point in the season?

Orr has been taking a lot of the snaps from Smith. Especially on passing downs. He's looked fairly solid. The ILB would need some depth, but I'd be okay with replacing Smith with Orr next season.

That's true. I would like to see him even more though. So far he's looked good, but I wouldn't call him a starter just yet. The coaches need to play all the young guys these last four games and at least get some sort of evaluation from their play.

I really like Orr, glad we found him out of nowhere. He reminds me of a young Daryl Smith for some reason.

Given our Linebackers struggles in coverage can we AT LEAST put Brooks at the star position?

Star position is like a safety/linebacker right? If so, it would be cool to at least see what he could do there since he probably won't get snaps at FS because Lewis is there. I really like when he blitzes and I hope Pees will dial up some safety blitzes with him if this were to happen. He blitzed well vs. Browns in Week 5.

Well, Pees has never been the creative type.

Yeah lol. I feel like he's so basic in his play calling. I want to see that old aggressive and fearless Ravens defense one of these days, but I don't know if Pees will ever make that happen sadly.

Brooks almost had a pick-6 today man. Glad too see him on defense, even though he only came in for like 10 snaps total to spy the QB. Seems like every week he almost makes a play whether it's on special teams or defense. I would love to see him get significantly more snaps these last three games. Probably won't happen though :(

Would really like to see him play safety...

I know right... every time he gets a chance to play he's never at safety lol. At least he did well today spying the QB and was really close to a pick-six which would've been awesome. Hopefully the coaches play him these last three games, but it's like a 90% chance they won't play him much at all sadly. We got blown out and they wouldn't even change the lineup. The coaches need to make some changes or try something different with the season officially over. You don't get this opportunity every year. Unless you're the Browns :)

My biggest complaint is "what if Brooks is good"? What if we waste a pick on a safety because we haven't given Brooks a final chance to show himself?

That's exactly how I feel. I would hate to see a waste of a talented player. I sort of feel the same way with A. Brown.

Agreed. I'm not sure why we don't put him out there at FS. We're not going to the playoffs. There's no magical change of situation that will remedy this. You may as well test your depth now and see what you have.

Been saying this for a while. Our season has honestly been over since Flacco got hurt and even before that really.
