Can we start Terrence Brooks already?

I would like to see Brooks get more snaps. Lewis problem right now is communication, I don't know how Brooks would do but he's a hard worker. He really went at his rehab and returned from an injury that takes 9-10 months to come back from typically. He's intensive, I really like him and he should be allowed to get some PT if Lewis continues to struggle.

The money spent on Lewis & Arrington could've easily been translated to Graham & Cary Williams.

Pretty sure Graham and Williams both cost more than Lewis and Arrington, anyone have the contract details?

No their contract wouldn't cost exactly the same. But it wouldn't be by much.

Harbs  Whoever makes that decision doesn't like Brooks for some reason. I doubt we will ever find out why.

because he's a hard hitter. I don't think harbs likes playmakers.

Just looked it up, around 3 mil difference between Graham(4.45) and Arrington(1.46)

3.4 mil difference between Williams(4.66) and Lewis(1.26) as well

We have 3.37 mil in cap space

All of these numbers are according to spotrac

Player salaries are the same for overthecap but we only have 2.54 mil in cap space according to that

And you realize if we offered money to Graham & Cary, it wouldn't be exactly the same way its structured with them now.

They're both still getting quite a bit more on a per year basis.

We were never getting Graham, he wanted to go back home.

I'd take Williams at this point though, honestly.

Yeah Cary is getting a 3 year 18 mil deal. We could trim it to say 3 this year but it would still be 7.5 on average over the last 2 years with a good amount of dead money involved as I doubt Cary Williams would take little guarenteed money on a backloaded deal.

If Brooks doesn't play today I think we're pretty much done with him.

Why would you say that? Kendrick is back (sadly) and we have a bye week coming up so we may as well rest him so his hand gets better and so he doesn't have to play with a heavy wrap on his hand. He needs to be our starter no question after the bye week though if Kendrick plays bad again and if he is healthy.

Every time he's(Brooks) in the game he's getting beat somehow. He's only had one good play; and these injuries aren't helping.

That's ridiculous to say he gets beat every time he's in. He's a young safety with little experience so he will make a couple mistakes, but in his small amount of playing time he's made several good plays, not just one.

One of the biggest issues with Lewis is that he's kinda slow. You always see him trail behind people. I think Brooks would add some much needed speed to the backfield.

Brooks needs to start vs the Jags. He was a 3rd round pick and has shown some flashes of why he was. I believe if he can stay healthy that he'll do better than Lewis.

Another in season overhaul of the secondary. WTH did they do in the off season to make this disgrace any better?

Signed Kendrick Lewis and announced him the starter

A lot more lowlights than highlights.

2014-2015 season Bengal game, the Saints game the OTHER bengals game. This season I remember he let a guy behind him for a deep. The only good play I remember was the bit on Delanie Walker.

I wouldn't say more lows than highs, but still, does that matter right now? He's a young safety who hasn't got much playing time due to inexperience (it's hard to be a good young safety) and some injuries. By the way everyone gets beat. Think of Will Hill (our best DB) he got beat a couple of times against the chargers. Plus just about every completion to a receiver means someone is getting "beat" you could say. Also, Brooks was in position on both the deep play against the Bengals and the Saints he just didn't make the play. This is because he needs time to learn and correct his mistakes, plus nobody is perfect. He has also made more good plays than just the hit on Walker.

Brooks was "in position on both the deep play against the Bengals and the Saints" like Mosley is "in position" to cover. Being in position means nothing when you don't play defense when you're there.

Why are you so negative about Brooks and all our players? Players make mistakes no matter who it is or what team it is, period.

I'm not negative about all our players... This is s Brooks thread.

I'm not gonna be positive about players when they have more bad plays than good.

I shouldn't of said all I guess, but why don't you like Brooks and Mosely? I try to stay positive on our players.

And here is our problem.

This sums up Ravens fans recently. Curse em when they're here and wish they were back later.

The only move I'm actually mad at is Graham but he didn't want to come back anyway so can't fault Ozzie.

I'll say this about Williams. He never seemed to lack fire. One of the guys who played with passion and we seem to be lacking that on both sides.

He really doesn't, but I get it man, you don't like Brooks. It's alright, we just have different opinions.

I don't like Mosley this year because he's REALLY bad in coverage and all he seems to be able to do is stop the run, which isn't really a big need because our D-line could stop a comet. My Brooks critism is due to his inability to do much and the fact that we used a 3rd round pick on him. I'd rather not use 3rd round picks on depth players. Edited by Cillmatic

I agree that Mosley has been bad in coverage this year which needs to change, but he is also a young player that needs time to develop and work on things like pass coverage. Brooks "inability to do much" is once again because he hasn't got a real chance yet and is a young/developing safety. He was a good pick in the 3rd round and yeah he should at least be able to provide solid depth and special teams play for us, but he needs a chance to start and get experience. Also we can hope that he'll stay healthy throughout his career which would help get him more opportunities (If the coaches will play him more). Another factor that could be causing Mosely's coverage issues, Brooks issues, and all our secondary issues could be happening because of Dean Pees.

Brooks hasn't looked great in the limited time he played. I'm in favor of giving him reps and see what he could do, but I won't rely on him stepping up, if the opportunity to take Jalen Ramsey arrives then take it.

Brooks got a chance, and he let a WR behind him. Did the same thing against the bengals last year. He's shown nothing. We just have bad players.

Brooks hasn;t done anything imo to earn the spot and I can;t say if he's bette than Lewis anyways.  Pees is not why he sucks - he didn't draft him, but if he feels Lewis is the better starter then who is anyone here to argue?

The only thing maybe that Pees could do is tostart him when he thinks Lewis will benefit from being benched then seeing if Brooks rises to the occassion.  FS is an incredibly hard position to learn takes and average of 3years to get it whih is why they brought in Lewis ahead of him - to learn.  I can't tell if Brooks will ever get it, or not, but it may be too early to tell.
