2016 NFL Draft RB Thread

If we trade down and take someone's first rounder in 2017, and that team bombs, we'll be set up pretty good. And either Fournette or McCaffrey would be crazy. Especially McCaffrey. All he does is win, in the run, pass, and return game.

That's an idea I was pushing pretty hard when we were hovering around the 6th pick and expecting to go on a four-game losing streak. A trade like that with the 49ers would have been almost perfection imo.

Dunno if we can do it now unless the QB spot gets raided and a side like the Eagles (lol) or Rams get really desperate for a QB themselves and we think we can get a decent player in their slot. Sadly that feels a little optimistic now.

that kid is something else. Can't see him in purple and black but it's cool to imagine.

I know it is a year away, but the 2017 RB class is loaded: Fournette, Cook, McCaffrey, Chubb, Perine, Freeman, Hurd and others

I came in here to mention Samaje Perrine, is he not in this draft class?

So basically, no reason to spend a 2016 pick on an RB. Not with Forsett, Taliaferro, Javorius Allen and Terrance West still in the mix, and with such a stacked class coming.

I think the Ravens are set for next year at RB. Definitely wasn't one of the problems this year. Forsett and Allen will form a good combination. Have to remember that Forsett won't be around much longer. It will all come down to where the FO thinks Taliaferro and West are at.

My favorite part of Ezekiel Elliott's game is his willingness to block (pass & run). That's not why he'll be drafted high, but its really fun to watch and coaches will love it.

Those are the unheralded parts of the game that propel guys up.

Will Fournette be a top 10 pick in next years draft?

I think so, but there are plenty of RBs I like in his class. I don't know if I want to pick him top 10 if we end up with a top 10 pick. That is looking like a stacked RB class. It could be even better or just as good as the 2015 RB class.

I wouldn't spend a top 10 pick on a RB unless he's the next AD. Is he? Lol

A lot of people believe him to be, I'm not sure if I would say so myself.

Will Fournette be a top 10 pick in next years draft?

I think he's better than Gurley, who went at 10 with a busted knee. I'd be happy with taking him in the top 10 if it comes to taht next year for whatever reason.

Easily top 5 the way he was hyped this year. People forget how crappy LSU's passing game was this year and the fact team stacked the box against LSU and regardless Fournette had a crazy year.

Next year should see quite a few backs going higher than traditional. Fournette is a legit top 5 pick. Cook, McCaffery, Freeman, and Chubb (if he returns well from injury) all have looked first round worthy. Hurd and Gallman may sneak into that conversation as well. I'd predict Fournette going top 3, Cook going top 12, and McCaffery and Freeman going late first.
