[News] Ravens 'Soul Searching' After 0-3 Start

84 posts in this topic

This all goes back to the front office letting key freeagents walk, bad drafting especially in the early rounds. This team has talent but they are too inexperienced. They will turn it around but its going too late.

What happened to the O-line? Everyone knows Joe is no good when he gets pressured constantly. If it wasn't for SSS, this would have looked uglier.

The wins will come and hopefully before too much time passes. The past three games have been gut busters for fans but just imagine how the players feel. All their hard Work for naught. Next game up guys. Go Ravens.

Lacking confidence is perhaps a valid assessment by Joe. If it's time to do some soul searching for a way to turn this around, it may also be time for those quiet, lead by example introverted leaders to step up and become verbal leaders as well. The losing mentality won't change quickly enough unless that happens.

While we've been consistently going to the playoffs for the better part of a decade, the majority of the NFL has not. This also means we've consistently been drafting at the bottom of each round year in and year out, which is why we keep needing to stack mid round picks to draft serviceable foundation pieces. But those coveted athlete-freaks at the top of the drafts have evaded us.

Also, being consistently good means we have aging playmakers who have sizable cap dollars committed to them. Unfortunately a lot of them have suffered repeated injuries. If we take a step back and see the big picture, it's a frustrating time yes, but a somewhat predictable and understandable one. We need to let the front office figure this thing out.

Fortunately we start next year with a crap ton of cap dollars to go shopping in Free Agency. And if the season rides out the way it's started, we could be staring at a top 15 pick, which Ozzie doesn't miss on.

We all, the fans, and franchise, need to ride this thing out and try to stay toghether.

Steve Smith Sr. has the heart and Soul of a Lion, and its sad to see a guy play that hard and come up losing. These guys need to find that kind of Fire. As a Ravens Fan, we are not used to having our Heart and Soul questioned? Maybe these guys need to pull up some Ray Lewis videos and learn how to dig deep and Motivate each other.

I agree, Sr. is the only one who plays like he really cares.  Of course, Flacco, but he is the cool, calm, collected navigator.  The defense is horrible.  The penalties will kill us.  Sloppy, sloppy playing.  Can't believe this is the same team I've been watching with such pride for the last five years.

Totally agree with this assessment.  I wonder how Belichick does it year after year?

Were we watching the same game? Joe wasn't sacked at all and only knocked down twice. We had way more pressure on Daulton than they got on us. The gameplan called for those quick short passes that kept coming up under/over thrown. Joe has the 30th ranked QBR right now, you guys that blindly support him leave me scratching my head.

It's the Harbaugh culture. He wants yes men, high character low ability do as your told types. Anyone else gets ran off. How many college captains have we drafted now that have turned out to be anything more than wasted picks. Soul searching? Need to do some talent searching...

I must say 0-3 is heart shattering. But maybe this isn't our year! We've had so much bad luck, like the Ravens got hexed. Injuries are a major part of that bad luck. Not to mention the poor playing of both sides of the ball the only true hero of our team is Steve Smith Jr. The man is a beast. Ravens other WR's are making plays here and there but truly haven't stepped up to be that guy. After this game, I really don't think we should keep Dean Pees if I were in charge I'd let him go immediately, Also I don't think we shouldn't Keep Mark trestmen after this season, I don't think he's all that he's cracked up to be he's a jinx and I don't think he's a good fit. We all know now our Defense is utterly hopeless especially our Corners and saftey Jimmy smith can't handle top rate WR's A.J Green proved that...now Justin Forsett... I don't know if he's the blame or the Offensive line. I know what chip he had on his shoulders is gone and isn't currently worth the money there Paying him... I want to Believe in this current team but I live in reality... Our season is already done for

You want to do some honest soul searching? Here it is: Dean Pees isnt good enough! we have too much talent for the theme to be consistently the same! Our defense cannot stop anyone and while I never thought I would say this... You cannot trust Baltimores Defense with the game on the line! How much more evidence do we need... it has bee n that way since Pees got here. We are not a feared defense anymore... Pees needs to go and go now... Honest soul searching.... He is letting this team down week in and week out@!

TheFact000.... While I agree with you on Pees... I think he she be gone before Monday but being a short week.... I doubt that will happen. I dont necessarily agree on Trestman though. He is doing it without his Perriman and Monroe and while we are not running the ball well yet... He has produced over 30 points in 2 of 3 weeks so far this year! A baltimore team who cannot win when the offense produces 30 plus points in sickening! i think trestman deserves more time but Pees time has way past ran out!

As fans and as an organization, its time to accept we will be bad this year. Its hard to swallow because of all the talent we have. But it is what it is, lets get the high draft pick lets get the good free agents and lets keep our heads high and realize better days are ahead. GO RAVENS

I guess I'd start my search of the coach who decided to blitz a safety up the middle in a goaline situation. The safety showed his blitz so the cin online to adjust for him . While leaving aj is single coverage?

One wonders if getting Perriman back in enough time to still compete for the playoffs can serve as that last "hump" we need to edge out these close games (or perhaps not be in close games to start with).

Though it is concerning that he retweaked his knee injury during warmups while running full speed.

I refuse to "accept" that we will be bad. I fully expect us to right the ship and start winning. I just hope it's soon.

And this dumb cherade that Harbs has about not knowing any details about Perriman is getting old. I mean it's only your first round pick in a year where you started 0-3. Coach, you think maybe it's time you took a stroll down to the trainers room to ask some questions? Cmon man!

Ravens front office need to look at their mistakes. They ignored the WR and CB position in the draft for years and relied on undrafted guys and cheap vets to carry the load. They kept the nice guys and let the vocal and emotional leaders walk out the door.

Soul searching meaning... Talent searching? Chemistry searching? Defensive scheme searching? Whatever we are going to do we have to do fast. Time is ticking. The season is still young and definitely salvageable, but December will be here before we know it.
