Chuck Pagano return?

Did you see how fast Rex was gone for another HC gig? Pagano will get snatched up twice as fast.

 

Only way he ends up here IF he even gets fired is if he decides that Head coaching isn't for him right now.

Honestly, I'd grab a coach from the Seahawks. They are one of the best tackling teams in football.

A) I just dont see it happening. HE has said he wants to retire. If that is not true what are the odds that he actually gets passed over for some HC gig ? I really dont want to get my hopes up just to see him do what is inevitable. 

 

This is an extension of A. If he does come back we have the talent on defense that he could turn us around very quickly, and then he would be gone. The only saving grace for Pees is that he is happy in the DC role. I like continuity on defense. If a guy is here for 4 or 5 years than fine, but 1 just to leave again would be Kubiak all over again. Give us a taste of greatness only to take it with him when he leaves.

agreed. we need fresh young blood. someone who will come in and have something to prove. a risk taker thats willing to come in and dial up blitz plays. someone who will bring fire to the defense. someone who will be down on the field.

It's really making me sick. All these years I watch this team we always had defense. Always. But these past 4 years with pees he's been robbing our identity slowly away, this year it's completely gone. We're not aggressive. We aren't focused, we aren't angry. We're not forcing offense to dictate to us, we're not feared, now we aren't even respected. I really just can't believe this. These aren't my ravens.

With that being said yeah I'll love looking at some college coaches who want their shot. A creative young buck who will get our defense playing faster and more aggressive. I'm tired of the conservative garbage that doesn't work.

Will hill is a beast here but he was turning into a star in nyg, Lewis wasn't that bad in Houston. Why can't we take advantage of Arthur Brown and Terrance brooks speed. At least have them blitz a few times a game or something. Why is Stewart making plays in Denver and was a lowlife here?

Pees needs to go. Bottom line.

I'd welcome it by all means, but as others have said, I think some other level-headed team ran by a GM/Owner with half a brain would pick him up as a HC. Not Pagano's fault his GM ignores the O-line and defense. 

 

If Pagano wants to be a HC, he will be a HC.

That might be because they violate the CBA and do contact drills when they're not supposed to lol.

I've always been surprised no one's tried to get Clarence Brooks as a DC. I think he would be great for us at DC. He's tenured, and knows real defense, as he's been our dline coach for 11 years.

I find it difficult to think he'd stay if he'd been passed over so it is possible he just wants to be a dline coach.

Because the Colts defenses have been pretty bad. I know that defense doesn't have much talent behind it but neither does ours. I know Pees has been bad but these guys are getting straight up beat as well. Plus Pagano didn't get the HC job to help out Luck. That defense has held them back here just like ours is doing, I mean I like the guy but he had one good year calling an extremely talented defense here and hasn't put a strong defense out there since.

Coaches rarely only get one chance at an HC gig, once they grab one. I have little doubt someone will be willing to hire him as an HC elsewhere and I have little doubt he'll be eager to prove to the world (and to his former employer) that he's worthy of the position. 

 

If he becomes a DC again, it will be some years down the road.

I would love it, he's so good at finding talent and building a roster. Also defensively he's still great. I'm honestly afraid he would be one and done here.

Mattison is a slightly (SLIGHTLY) better version of Pees.
