The good, bad and ugly vs Bengals

757 posts in this topic

Maxx, Gilmore and Camp saw a few plays each, I think we gotta just accept that.

They will see more and more plays as Trestman continues to forget the run game

Well as lousy as the run game is right now, he is welcome to forget it lol

We've had different CBs and safetys pretty much every year since Ed left. And I'm not seeing where we have had a boat load of talent back there, save Jimmy and Hill. The rest have been a revolving door of experiments and Webb, well......

No, one of those years Elam was the only new cog. Still same issues. Guys we brought in this year clearly played better (considerably better) than they are here. So why could they communicate on their old teams? Guys who left here are playing better than the scrubs everyone called them when they were here. Suddenly they know how to communicate?

Yeah that excuse doesn't hold water.

On the bad side, we're 0-3 for the first time ever and our season is all but over. On the bright side, we have a good shot of beating our arch-rival Thursday Night.

He was playing on ST though, which is weird.

Uh, I didn't notice that - considering Raiders game and what he did today, I'd say it is beyond weird.

2012 to 13 we lost Reed and Pollard, then went to Elam and Digs. 14 Hill and Stewart/Elam/Levine/can't remember his name and guys coming in and out at corner.

On the other bright side which is so far ahead of us we can't see the light(thus meaning very unlikely to happen) if we win 13 in a row we can finish 13-3 and make the playoffs!

We are paying the price because this team has failed to fix what has been broken for a long time. Our corners were our achilles last year and our secondary continues with the same issues. Our FO put all their eggs in the Webb basket and that was a mistake.

What other issue has been ignored for many years... WR, our only legit passionate beast of WR is a bandaid at 35. Lets see if Perriman even plays this year to see what he has to offer.

Yeah, weird.  Harbaugh did indicate to look on the injury report, but Zrebiec said this during the game:

Crockett Gillmore not getting a whole lot of offensive snaps this half. He's playing on special teams so not injury related.

Three games does not a season make. No question that 0-3 is not what we expected, but did we expect this team to play so undisciplined with so many penalties? Did we expect this defense to be this bad? Did we expect this offense to be void of playmakers with the excetion of SSS? The answer to those questions is obviously no. It is only natural to blame the coaches when searching for reasons to these questions, considering how high the expectations were for this team, but the coaches are not on the field. We have become spoiled and complacent through the years because the Ravens have been known for their tough defenses. We have enjoyed many years of playoffs, but that has come with a price. Playoff teams draft near the bottom and that is the price you pay for being a winner. This team needs better talent, and that will only come by experiencing some  losing seasons. They may in fact get better this year, only time will tell, but they certainly are not a playoff caliber team at this time. The Ravens will be back because this is a top notch organization and losing is never accepted. I will still be a fan, and watch every game, but I have certainly lowered my expectatons for this season.

Heartbreaking.

Kyle Arrington is horrible.

All of our corners except Jimmy are terrible on 90% of plays.

Also we got screwed out of 3 seconds at the end of the game. Not that it really makes a difference.

You do realize Jimmy was following AJ Green around the field most of the time today while he put up what? 220 and 2TDs.

No, what was funny is that people were roasting him and then he gets the interception and all of a sudden it's, "We love you and never doubted you!"

That interception showed he still knows how to play the game and he's clearly still got his positioning, but he's just not there with his confidence in his foot

Gimme a break. He was right there in the end zone. I am pro Jimmy all day, but to say he still knows how to play when all he had to do was get his head around is silly.

It isn't just ex-players playing better than they did here. Arrington & Lewis both played better than they have since coming here. If they played this badly do you really think they would have sought them out & signed them?

Darian Stewart is playing out of his mind in Denver. Looked lost here. In fact, he looked bad here.

The answer to this question is actually yes...

Well, he didn't cover him on the 80 yard touchdown and Brooks had underneath coverage on a play that accounted for like 40 yards, so there's over half his yards attributed to other players. No, not a great day from Jimmy, but hardly as bad as you're trying to make it

When is Perriman set to play?

The12th of never and that's a long long time I saw conflicting reports on whether he did or didn't aggravate the knee injury during pre game warm ups. So who knows?

The whole team (well, minus a few guys) just looks flat.  Play seems lazy and uninspired.

The pass rush is still putrid.  The only real pressure we seem to be getting is on overload blitzes.

The lack of deep threat is really taking its toll.  The Bengals were sitting on those underneath routes because they don't have to respect the deep ball.

Joe's got the arm,, not sure why its not in the game plan. I think it would help the O

Torrey isn't good enough to justify the deal the Niners gave him, but he would be MUCH more useful to us than he is to them. We desperately need speed on the outside. Flacco knows how to use it, Kaepernick apparently doesn't.

not good enough for the deal but either he needed replaced via FA or by someone who proved they could be productive in camp...

i bet , with torrey smith on the roster we are 2-1 if not 3-0. butterfly effect and suggs never gets hurt lol... hindsight is 20/20... i hate hindsight

side note...

why no babin?

wheres waller? if you are sending someone 50 yards up the field it'd be nice if it was a burner like him that could get separation and not have a TE do it.

what on earth happened with crocket in the 2nd half?

and just because no one has said anything.... you get a bad feeling when justin tucker misses anything...

Totally false. Jimmy didn't cover AJ on that 80 Yard TD or 40 Yard reception. Thats 120 Yards not accounted by Jimmy. Granted, he didn't play well but people! Hes coming back from a season ending injury. It takes time. Last time I check, Derrelle Revis wasn't a showstopper his first year in Tampa after coming back from that ACL injury.

Im confident Jimmy will return to form, hes still not 100%.

It's not in the game plan because we don't have the personnel for it.

Here's the good news. I won fantasy by 1 point thanks that late td from Peyton and that missed Prater PAT. That and I won my picks this weeks. I focus on what I can control.

I won mine too, against the top-ranked person in my league! :) 2-1 now.

Same. Was 1-1 going against someone 2-0. Can't let the Ravens kill all my joy.

Cool. I'm feeling good about Thursday for the time being though; either way I'm ALWAYS  hyped for Ravens-Steelers week. Fantastic rivalry - and still the best in the league. Has been since 2008.

Meanwhile, McPhee with back to back sacks. It'd be nice to have his pass rush right now. Dumervil is getting all of the attention.

That was a huge loss. I know you can't keep everyone but I think McPhee and Torrey were really bad losses.

This game should have been a blowout. The Mosley fumble TD, Dalton's cocky INT pass in the endzone, the lucky helmet penalty on Joe, which extended the TD drive. Smith playing like crazy. Don't count on that again.

2013 Elam was the ONLY new cog. Diggs had been here.

Arrington & Lewis played well for other teams and now they're garbage? Stewart was one of the players that all the Pees supporters said what was he supposed to do with that in coverage? He was garbage and look at him now.

Not buying it. These guys were all in camp together. They've had plenty of time to get their communication down. I have not seen ANY other team EVER have these issues season after season after season no matter the turnover. That is coaching.
