The good, bad and ugly vs Bengals

757 posts in this topic

This Ravens defense should wear a different jersey because this isn't my team. They look uninterested at times in football. They don't look like they're playing for someone. I don't think the players like the system Pees runs and it causes them to just not execute it at times. It explains to me at least why they go Jekyll and Hyde a lot. The fourth quarter meltdowns need to stop. I'm done with Pees, personally..

So - for those calling for his head ... if he goes in season, then he needs to be replaced with an internal promotion. Any ideas of who that would be? Anyone behind the scenes that would run a system they can get on board with (whatever that might be).

Yeah - it is horrid. We've got some good players, but we've got a general dysfunction going on.

Funny how Kubiak leaves and the online is back to garbage again. Run game looks awful. Can't even blame Forsett. There aren't any holes to hit.

But the 2013 disaster was all about AQ and Gino ... or so we thought. What is going on with KO? This is a contact year? Well, the size of his contract is shrinking.

For a random positive, Trawick is pretty dang good at ST.  He made a few very nice open field tackles today.

I agree that midseason firing won't help. No point.

People need to realize that firing coordinators midseason is not the norm. Just because we did it once doesn't mean we will (or should) do it again.

to be honest..i can see us pulling out a win vs the steelers..

without ben obviously.

vick is an accident and our Run D is good enough..esp as the steelers o line without pouncy is suspect

i'd rather lose the game than create false hope ( ala 2013)

There's of course the issue of Flacco's extension. He has all the leverage, but no doubt his value is going down.

I think his value is going up. We have no defense - no QB and we're doomed.

He's been playing with a bad achilles.

KO made a massive effort in his offseason after his injury 2013..part of me feels he took it more lightly this year and it shows.

I knew losing Kubiak would be a major blow to our offense . He WAS the perfect fit for Joe ,by far better than

any other offensive coordinator we have had .

It is the same oline personnel we are playing ,right ? All on Trestman and Co.

Here's betting Trestman gets canned after this year or sooner .

We've played pretty well against the Steelers in recent year, Ben or no Ben I wouldn't be surprised to fluke a win here. But let's not forget that the guy who ALWAYS shows up against the Steelers on defense (Suggs) won't be suited up.

I expect the offense to play well...unfortunately I expect the Steelers offense to play better.

and 20 INTs.

Perhaps you would like to trade him for Colin Kapernick. I mean, he has both our good receivers and he lit up the Card...........

.......oh wait.

Yeah a loss to the Vick led Steelers with horrible secondary play will be his last game .

I'm not thinking we lose that one, but hey, the way it's been going, who knows?

I honestly think because of our current salary cap issues we have to at least consider not extending Flacco. Ok that's long a enough time to consider it !

lol He'll get extended and I have no doubt Flacco will be reasonable and it will get settled before we even get to debate the matter here.

You wouldn't be surprised if we lose another one with a defensive meltdown in the 4th quarter that it could

Very well happen?

Watching the TD montage on NFLRZ.....that second TD we gave up should not have happened. Melvin got ROASTED and Lewis whiffed on the attempt to jump the pass. SMH.

If we are going to win two games this season, it needs to be against the steelers. I doubt much hope is engendered by way of an eeked out win against a roethlisberger less steelers team.

the kendrick lewis idea was a bad idea

people knock darien stewart but he's better than lewis.

I didn't get the excitement on this board or the FO when we signed this guy. He's average at BEST.

Would have been interesting to see if the results changed with Arrington instead of Melvin.  Arrington wasn't good by any means, but do too bad in the 2nd half.  I think Marvin Jones only got the best of him twice, 1 of them being a great catch.  Melvin's penalties killed us on that opening drive.

Oh, We very well could...  wouldn't be surprised at all.  We are going to have one ticked off team Thursday.  I think it may come in another week or two.  I actually think we break the losing streak first.

Oh and by the way, we've lost 4 straight against the Bengals. Will likely be 5 at the end of the year.

Will be. I have no faith in Flacco playing well in Cincy. And do we have to talk about the defense?

Here's the problem on defense : If Jimmy has a bad game ,we are in big big trouble .

Webb is done and needs to get released . The rest of the corners are complete garbage .

Look the offense played like crap the first half no doubt. But Flacco has put up more than respectable QB ratings and completion percentages the last 2 games. He isn't the issue.

The really sad part is that if Kubiak was still here I have every confidence we are 3-0 right now. I hate that man and I hope the Broncos crash & burn hard.

The problem is that we have to rely on the offense to ball out and we have exactly one player for the QB to rely on right now, no running game, and the O line is reverting back to Castillo days, pre-Kubiak.

There's no choice. The three options are:

1. Extend him and make his cap hit manageable.

2. Do nothing and keep that insanely large cap hit.

3. Cut him and take an extremely large cap penalty.

An extension is the only tenable option.

imagine having ray lewis and sss together in their primes... so much heart in one locker room.

Prime SSS was a team cancer. Hell, he throw cam newton under a bus 2yrs ago & had unnecessary fist fights with teammates. We got a different Steve smith...but if we keep losing he may call out the team in the media.

Ray was always uplifting. SSS was hyper critical of teammates for years. We got the SSS that is appreciative of the game since it's the end.
