The good, bad and ugly vs Bengals

757 posts in this topic

I liked Steve and Joe's synopsis of the game...  both spoke of the youth on offense and their confidence in knowing they can make the plays...   I can see that. It makes sense.

Harbs says it again.  The statement of wishing we could stop someone in the 4th quarter would be nice.  And despite them not being able to cover SSS (throughout) his entire career), maybe we can learn to cover AJ Green before he retires.

All in all...  I'm not as upset as I could be, just knowing we have "been in" every one of these games despite how bad we look sometimes

Starting to think we're going to go 0-16 losing every game by a TD or less. This team, especially the defense, can't close.

No we will win a few- Browns ( at home ) and the Jags. We might beat the Bengals but only because the division will be decided long before that game.

Jimmy is kind of showing who he really is. A good corner, but not one of the best. Will Hill had a very poor day. Crockett was the only one who showed up on either side in the first half. Joe finally did what everyone wanted and turned into a good fantasy QB, but unfortunately that has come at the expense of winning games. The running game, I mean, what running game?

All this and we still had a chance to win against a great team. That makes it so much harder on us fans. Heartbreak every week.

Yeah, the heartbreak comes in taking leads and then kissing them goodbye. That hurts.

Hope he keeps repeating it...all the way until the moment Pees is fired at the end of the year.

What worries me is that for Pees there's always an excuse.

In 2013 the offense was awful so the D was always "tired."

In 2014 they lost Jimmy Smith that's why the pass defense was awful.

Now in 2015 no Suggs will be the excuse.

What will it be in 2016 when the same story continues?

We wouldn't have had to release him though, he still had a year left before FA. Considering his injury giving him a big extension was an absolutely horrible decision.

Absolutely true !! and unbelievable actually but way less cataclysmic than the Ray Rice " no cut " contract. That one still makes me gag.

Keeps going like this he'll be gone long before the end of this year.

Wow " The Mom Gene " :o  It warms my heart to see you sowing the seeds of discontent !! Maybe if we shout loud enough do you think somebody might hear us?

You know it's bad when you're saying this, lol.

But I don't see a midseason firing here. That 2012 team had Super Bowl aspirations and had already clinched a playoff spot when Cam was fired. That drastic change actually had meaning. Now? The season is basically already dead. Why promote a young assistant who'll just get snatched up if he does a decent job?

I'm just frustrated Wizard1.  I am tired of our defense stealing wins from the rest of our team.  I said it last week...  We can't stop a runny nose

Let's say we do fire Pees, the earliest it should happen is after the Steelers game. No way we fire him with 4 days until we're at Pitt. Who replaces him? Because as predictable as he can be, it's not like he's responsible for the horrendous coverage that our secondary seems to favor. Recently we've turn decent quarterbacks into world beaters.

This Ravens defense should wear a different jersey because this isn't my team. They look uninterested at times in football. They don't look like they're playing for someone. I don't think the players like the system Pees runs and it causes them to just not execute it at times. It explains to me at least why they go Jekyll and Hyde a lot. The fourth quarter meltdowns need to stop. I'm done with Pees, personally..

Me too Mom Gene. I guess my frustration started in pre-season. We better hang on because it's gonna get ugly up in here !

I don't know...the pass defense has been a mess since he's been here, INCLUDING 2012. Regardless of the personnel. I do think he's responsible for it to some degree.

Can't snatch them up if they have a contract...

Very dissapointing showing once again from the defense with the exception of a handful of plays. Offense only seems to play with conviction when the game is all but lost and then come up short.

We can't keep anyone from scoring when it really counts and give every game away with a couple minutes on the clock. It's tough to watch when everyone was calling us superbowl contenders before the season started.

I do feel bad for smith sr. I wish the rest of the team played with his heart.

Oh, completely true but I don't think firing him with magically turn around our pass D. Poor tackling isn't done by the D coordinator, it's done by the players.

What I learned today: TE's played well for the second week; DL rebounded from last week; OL have issues opening running lanes and protection remains borderline; Secondary isn't working well as a unit and appear to lack speed; SSS will likely burnout if he doesn't get help soon.

Said the same thing... just a little differently.

Funny how Kubiak leaves and the online is back to garbage again. Run game looks awful. Can't even blame Forsett. There aren't any holes to hit.

Yeah a loss to the Vick led Steelers with horrible secondary play will be his last game .
