Offense: Will we see SSS and Campanaro in the game at the same time? Both are quick off the line and I expect we will see a ferocious pass rush to be mounted. Lack of a run game, if it doesn't show up, is going to be a big problem. Either way it's time to bring more creativity to the game.

Defense: Old defense of years past had players that played with a chip on their shoulder and were intense. Besides CJ Mosely I don't see intensity back there. I can't recall the last time I've seen a hard hit by the secondary to make a statement. QBs could not always read the (secondary) defense, but now they are much easier to read. Not a lot of movement prior to the snap; the old secondary shifted around a lot more.

so i'm thinking (praying) we can contain Bell at least running the football my concern comes with the dump off and screen game. Last time we played Bell Mosley had a hard time sticking with him in the pass game. Pass rush needs to really show up tonight or its going to a looong game. if we give Vick the time and space we gave Carr it wont be pretty.

Bell is the absolute key defensively. Rather obvious of me to say but true nonetheless.

A rare voice of reason on this board, at this time. I too, am very optimistic about what could be coming. Call it a hunch, but some pretty basic adjustments will go a long way for this team. There is a very good shot at winning the next three, and if that manifests... Anything is possible moving forward.

The fact that the teams the Ravens loss to have a combined record of 8-1 this season says the losses have been to tough teams. The only loss of the winners have been to a team inside the group Oakland loss to Bengals). They were all close games so there is no reason to cash in at this time. However, a loss is still a loss and that needs to change ASAP.

Predictions for this game are reminiscent of the Oakland game...no way can the Ravens lose....unless they lose.

As soon as the schedule came out I knew that the raiders game could be a trap game.I also had a dream during that week that we would lose lol. This game is completely different though.I really don't see 2015 Vick playing well enough to beat us.Even at his best he's good for atleast two turnovers on a stage like this.I also don't believe the steelers defense is all that great against the pass. The only thing that scares me about this game is Crockett being out.He was a big reason for our offense playing the way it has for the last two weeks. But even with that I still think we win by ten.

Yea i've gone back an watched the last two games and it's just small things that are leading to the Ravens not being successful. Now obviously you have to label them a poor team right now because they aren't doing the things necessary to win, but unlike most 0-3 teams it's not from lack of talent, coaching, or ability. It more from young guys trying too hard and just new parts coming together. The biggest issue on defense imo is that in the ultimate team sport, the Ravens have too many guys playing individual football right now. It's like everyone is trying to make the play but they are breaking technique to do so. Example both Jernigan and Smith rushing from the interior but taking wide angles to the QB instead of just pushing the pocket on Dalton's rushing TD. If they just push the pocket Dalton has no where to step up, coverage was excellent so no where to throw and it's 3rd down. So Dalton would have had to either force a throw, hold the ball and scramble or just throw it away, all high percentage plays for the defense. Instead they broke their assignments and made Mosley look bad in the process. If that's a FG or turnover instead of a TD how does the game change? It's just small stiff like that which is having huge impacts in tight games. These young guys have to learn how to play disciplined NFL football. It's not college anymore. It's correctable, it's just a matter of how soon it gets corrected.

Yeah, the teams are 8-1 that we lost to but if you take a closer look at the actual games, it's more telling than that.

The Broncos combined opponents record is 1-8. In all of their games, they looked like crap on offense. They were in the position to possibly lose every single game. Defense is legit.

The Raiders, what can I say. Better than expected. They got destroyed by the Bengals, beat the Ravens and then came close to losing to the Browns. Once again, their defense is absolutely horrible. Better offenses will put up 40 plus on them.

The Bengals. The only good team I believe we have faced so far. They killed the Raiders, had a competitive game against the Chargers that came down to the wire and against the Ravens. The only reason their game against us was even close was because they kept giving to ball away inside the Ravens 5 yard line. Many people may want to look at game with their Purple shades on, but the Ravens were lucky they didn't leave that game with a loss by 20.

I'd say not giving up the big play is the key defensively...

Without Ben, I'd say it'll be a little harder for them but we can't let them get the huge plays that AJ got last week

Keep em in front of you and make the tackle on first contact

This weather has me worried, I hope our running game will show up tonight. The Front 7 better be ready for a very BIG dose of Bell.

If the run game starts to pay off then we are more succeptible deep I would think. I think they will take a shot deep right away off play action though.

I get what you're saying and you are right...to me stopping them boils down to getting off blocks and tackling. (another obvious)- I'm sure they are to try plenty of screen and short routes with the expectation that we will struggle in space.

You're definitely right.. Just spoiled as a Ravens fan and automatically dismiss the chance of someone running all over us

With 33 penalties for 218 yards, the Ravens are the most penalized team in the NFL this season. Whats this mean?

They gotta clean it up. Even cutting those in half, and averaging just 6 pentalites a game would have made a huge difference. Some of the calls were literal motivational killers. That facemask on Sunday was abysmal.

They've been penalized more than everyone else

Anyone else think Buck should get more carries tonight? I liked us signing Justin last year, but he's on decline a bit. When he's touched he goes down.

Agreed, Forsett the kind of small RB that Needs a good line to be good. A big guy quick RB like Buck would do better. Plus whenever he gets the rock he looks good.

Have a feelin Talioferro will have a huge night

Both those guys are a better fit for the offense than Forsett imo. I don't think Forsett is in a decline more so then him just really not being the physical style runner this offense seems to favor.

He'll still have success but his patient style isn't really the best fit. The run game seems to be better with a 1 cut and get downhill runner. Both Taliaferro and Buck fit that bill. I'm seeing Forsett not hitting holes and not running though arm tackles far too much so far. Because the running game is based on more pulling and trapping then just the cutback against the flow from last year, the RBs need to quickly read the holes and run through possible arm tackles. Forsett has opportunity to get much better in that area.

Final thoughts: I think Campanaro can help us out a lot in this game; Joe should be throwing to him and Steve Smith Sr. most often. I hope Forsett will have a good night, but my guess is once again it's the passing game that gets us on the board. The secondary won't have as big of a challenge with Vick as QB instead of Roethlisberger, but they'll still probably have their struggles. Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell worry me the most; if the defense manages to contain Bell, though, our chances of winning are pretty good. I would expect a turnover or two from Vick, and hopefully none from Flacco this time. I think it'll be a close one, but I'll pick the Ravens to win it 31-24. Turnovers decide the game in the end...

That's another way to look at it but, we can also point to penalties and say just one or two less against either Oakland or the Bengals and the Ravens win those games. Looking at how they loss can be difficult to use to judge. I recall the Ravens losing in Houston Last year. No way did they look like a playoff team but eventually were able to play with the best, even with the porous secondary.

Sure there are problems, not many teams are without them. Injuries, youth, chemistry, penalties, coaching etc, but there is usually not much separating winners from losers. It's not uncommon to see teams fortunes shift up or down during a season. Will the Ravens' shift? I don't know, but it doesn't mean that it can't or won't.

Ryan "Breshad Perriman" Shazier is injured again and won't play.

Picking Ryan over Mosley looks worse and worse every week.

Yeah but when Shazier has been on the field he's been pretty impressive. We don't know what we have with Perriman Edited by Dewy101
