Next Up: Pittsburgh Steelers

I wish people would quit underestimating our opponents. I know we don't actually play the game but it makes us look mighty silly if and when we lose. Whether it's Vick, Landry, Brown or even Mike Tomlin, I'll always worry when we play the Steelers.

But also be fair to us. Yeah, we're missing important players but so is Pittsburgh. They're without Shazier and Big Ben.

They can beat us whether it's Vick, Brown, Landry or Charlie Batch.

Lol! Wishful thinking. It would be a miracle if we won that game, seriously.

I'm not exactly disagreeing, but the Cardinals opponents so far haven't exactly been the who's who of the NFL. The Saints, Bears, and Niners have one win among them (maybe two, if the Saints won one that I missed).

We also know how durable their quarterback tends to be...

Anyway, I really hope Vick doesn't embarrass Baltimore with his feet as well as his arm. That td run from Dalton was really concerning.

I understand that Vick did not play well in St. Louis. Hopefully, his effective days are behind him.

If it's one thing Vick can do its launch the ball and run. He's still got the prettiest throws in the league.

But not accurate. I don't believe they want him even thinking about leaving the pocket.

I came across this column by Dr. David Chao, an orthopedic surgeon who worked for the San Diego Chargers for 17 years. He wrote about Ben's injury and specifically explained why bone bruises can take so long to recover from.

The injury would be simple and reliable if just a grade 2 MCL. Rehab and a brace would have Roethlisberger back in a couple weeks. The bone bruise is the worry here. We all know big Ben’s reputation for toughness and quick healing. That applies as he returns from MCL sprain, but a bone bruise can’t be rushed. Don’t expect him back before four weeks and it could be six weeks or more.

A lot of the information there might also explain why Perriman is taking so long to come back.

Edit: Calf injuries are also briefly mentioned. Gillmore might be out for a while...

I'll remain cautiously optimistic going into the game. Our team had better come out swinging, because this is desperation time. The defense has to be playing better, and the offense can't afford to let up at all. Even without Roethlisberger, I don't think this will be an easy game. I did predict that we'll win, but it probably will be closer than we want. The important thing is that we do win and build confidence from there.

Good read. Thanks for sharing that. They offered a good example in Danny Trevathan.

I'd be worried if Mike Tomlin was out there throwing the ball.

lol

It's not like Tomlin's timid of being on the field and making a play or two. haha

I couldn't agree more. The Ravens have an great opportunity in front of them. 0-3 is obviously not where you want to be but it's also a opportunity for your team to band together in the toughest of times. Also you don't have to worry about any bandwagoners. Almost everyone is off the Ravens Superbowl bandwagon. I say almost everyone because I'm not.

I'm very optimistic about the Ravens. As poor as the team has played they've been in position to win. Like Harbs said it doesn't mean much of anything but going forward it still gives that confidence that if you take care of your assignment and technique you stand a good chance of winning any game. That's what the Ravens have to focus on tomorrow. Forget how all the other games played out, don't worry about who the Steelers have or don't have and just play to your potential. I think it'll be a tight hard fought game but I think the Ravens should win this game and go into the mini bye with some success and pressing the reset button.

Major factor in this game and others going forward is our Tackle play. Hurst, literally, can not get any more worse and Wagner has fallen off of a cliff compared to last season. Not only does it have a major influence on our running game, but it makes our passing game suffer. With how badly the two are struggling, it makes us either go max protect, or at the least, chipping on both sides of the line. It throws off WR/TE's and also the timing of the QB.

If we do not get our oline in order quickly, I do not see the Ravens winning more than 8 games because they face some seriously good front 7's this year.

We're all pissed that Monroes not back, the sad thing is Monroe's not even good.

Lol, he's a far better option than Hurst.

Shazier missed last week and looks like he could very well miss this game also.  With arguably two of their best 5 players out, if we don't win this game then Harbaugh and the FO will have some serious evaluations to do

Ya, Shazier and McCullers are both out again this week. Not good for us

I'd be happier if Bell could sit this game instead of those two

I would expect us to Have more success throwing the ball than running it.

I hope we have success throwing it, but I would love if we could get our ground game going.  Shazier being out helps us and I would expect Trestman to pound the running game.  Taliaferro needs to gets involved early also

Last thing we need is 0-4 and a Cat 4 Hurricane and the O's out of the hunt .... its like what did baltimore do wrong.......

I know right? Feels like we're suffering for something here. Lol it's almost comical.

I have us winning tonight, going 3-5 first half, 5-3 second half, or 8-8 not good enough for the tournament. And, I am putting 90% Blame on Pees and his failed, and tired passive Zone prevent D. Ozzie, get us something better in the off season. If I know thats coming, Along with a higher draft pick, I can try and swallow all the future blown 4th quarter leads we have yet to see.

You can be the pessimist hater.

I see us going 4-4 or 5-3 this first half IF we win tonight. I also see us going potentially 5-3, 6-2, maybe even 7-1 in the second half depending on how our team grows and how injuries go.

Hope is still alive.

We still have 6 of 9 remaining games at home after this four game stretch of Pitt, Cleveland, San Francisco and Arizona. I'm confident we get Perriman back by the 49ers game.

so i'm thinking (praying) we can contain Bell at least running the football my concern comes with the dump off and screen game. Last time we played Bell Mosley had a hard time sticking with him in the pass game. Pass rush needs to really show up tonight or its going to a looong game. if we give Vick the time and space we gave Carr it wont be pretty.

A rare voice of reason on this board, at this time. I too, am very optimistic about what could be coming. Call it a hunch, but some pretty basic adjustments will go a long way for this team. There is a very good shot at winning the next three, and if that manifests... Anything is possible moving forward.
