Canty is another guy they should have replaced

Ā

Glad they didn't. Ā You can't put a value on the veteran experience/knowledge he gives our young D-Line.Ā

Ā

Ā

The Ravens had a bit of a scare earlier in the week when wide receiver A.J. Green missed practice with a knee injury.

Ā

That should say "Bengals".

Monroe must have a pretty serous concussion. If it's really bad he may be inclined to preserve his health and retire, and I wouldn't blame him. These things only get worse.

Ā

They have too many aging vets and don't add to the future until they get forced into it; see the CB's and WR depth chart

Freaking Monroe. I am not saying that he doesn't have a legit injury but I am saying he always has an injury. Legit or not... he has not helped us a whole lot since coming here. I think the writing may be on the wall and we may need to start to prepare for football without Monroe! IDK... hope I am wrong and I hope he heals up fast but I am beginning to wonder if the pressure of living up to expectations is the real injury bug in his case?????

Hurst has been worth his weight in gold for us! Not that he has been Jonathan Ogden back there but he has been solid and came in as an UFA... at one of the toughest positions in football. I bet he has played more games for us then Monroe since coming here. I think Monroe should be forced to give James Hurst some of his big pay check. Hurst seems to be earning Monroe's money more then Eugene is that is for sure!

Doing my best to stay optimistic, but I sure hope all this younger talent can step up and help our team to NOT go 0-3 after this Sunday's game, especially since Cincy has come out of the gate in beat-down mode...... Staying positive, staying positive, etc, etc..........

I wish we would just stick to drafting and developing our Tackles instead of signing from outside the organization. Sometimes it doesn't work out (Oher, Gaither), but more often than not Ozzie knows how to draft O linemen. I remember how optimistic everyone (including myself) was when we locked up Monroe long-term. Sucks that he's looking more and more like a disappointment.

While under normal circumstances, Canty's absence wouldn't seem like a big deal, but we need all the help we can get.

Ā

I'll tell you who needs to show up big this weekend and that Jernigan. We let Ngata go and said, no problem ... we got Timmy. Then he goes out and is non-existent for the entire Raider game, except for one play where we only wish he would have been non-existent. We're challenged in getting pressure off the edge, so need it from the middle ... and that is what we need out of him.

Yeah, it's bad enough we couldn't put away the Raiders, but dropping the home opener to a division rival will be a severe blow to the Ravens. A loss Sunday will make it all but impossible to foster optimism about a win Thursday in Pittsburgh.Ā

Yeah, while it is a shame that we're forced to roll with a 2nd year undrafted backup to be our week-to-week starting LT and while his performances have ranged between passable and downright ugly ... he's been about as good as we could hope for. He's being called upon to do one of the NFLs toughest and most highly valued jobs and is being paid minimum wage for it.Ā

Yep, that's really all we can do ... stay positive. I don't even want to get into the "what if"Ā scenarios of we lose this weekend. Not now. I don't want to even face it unless it becomes a reality.Ā

How is it possible for the Bengals to have no injuries serious enough that nobody is ruled out this week and we have a bunch of injuries? Are we doing something wrong in preparation and prevention, are they doing something right we don't know about, are injuries totally random, or will the law of averages regarding injuries eventually catch up with the Bengals? It stinks that the BengalsĀ are coming in here relatively healthy with all hands on deck. Just hope our guys get healthy soon so we can get through the rest of the season in good shape. Guess it's time some of our backups seize these opportunities and make a name for themselves.

I don't know how some teams can manage to stay healthy week after week. The last couple of years the Bengals have hardly had anyone on the list when they play us.

The Bengals were just fortunate to avoid injuries so far. They're not doing anything differently than we are to prevent someone from being listed as "OUT".

I want to say Burfict was out the last time we played them.
