[News] Late For Work 9/25: When You Can Expect Breshad Perriman To Make NFL Debut

61 posts in this topic

I'd say let him sit and continue to learn the offense then make his return week 4 vs the steelers. However, if the coaches feel that he's ready then play him.

I'm hoping Breshad is ready for the Pittsburgh game.  Their secondary is very weak and I would like to see if he can take advantage of them even if he's just a decoy.

So Bengals Andre Smith has a buttocks injury? Let's hope every Bengals player leaves M&T with a buttocks injury resulting from a swift kick in the buttocks by the Ravens.

Great point. If Perriman could make a go of it, the secondary of Pittsburgh is where they can be exploited.

Perriman on the field makes a difference in how the defense chooses to attack the Ravens. Whether or not he is 100%, whether or not he can run at 4.27 speed, all is irrelevant and I think we can afford to sit Waller and not make him active on game day(since we have thrown at him twice in two games) and put Perriman out there for a play or two just to see how they react. We really aren't losing a roster spot on gameday because Waller was only on the field for two plays the whole game, but I think just the presence of Perriman gives us more of an advantage than having Waller out there for just two plays. Don't put him in a position to hurt himself, but other than making the Bengals defense stop and think it also lets him get those first game rookie jitters out before we need him to go 100%.

I jut want to see our D get after it...We have a seasoned secondary, let them do what they do, and turn the dogs loose on the Dalton....

A buttocks injury. At least we can say nobody's butt was hurt this season. Bengals on the otherhand....

Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmm!

I really, really hope he can come in -- when he's ready -- and make a difference. If comes in and drops balls or misses routes, then the air is really going to be let out of my tires.

What's wild is that Harbs and Marvin share a Birthday... The week of the faceoff... Every member in every aspect of this team needs to show up on Sunday and give it EVERYTHING they got..... You saw it last night in NJ with the Giants...

LET'S DO THIS!!!

not going to lie but this game is the season imo. if we go 0-3 the morale of this team will not recover especially on a short week to pittsburgh. need to start fast on offense and get early pressure on dalton

1. Perriman coming back makes no difference.

2. Tired of Smith's deal. He's already mis-played two winning touchdowns. Too much mouth, not enough production.

I just hope that Joe learns to "overthrow" his receivers on the deep balls. If you are going to err, do it on the overthrow end. Those don't get intercepted. Can't understand why someone with a cannon for an arm seems to consistently be short on deep passes.

Man they dropped the bomb. The Ravens franchise has NEVER started 0-3. Never say never. I think M&T Bank stadium will be rocking, and in full support of the team, knowing it is a must win game. The Offense needs to get off to a fast start to keep the crowd into it. Anyone who says it isn't a must win game is lying. We have 3 must win games in a row against division rivals.

Am I the only the feels like Joe overthrew Torrey on a normal basis and rarely underthrew him?  I am sure it happened but I don't remember him ever having an issue with underthrowing the deep ball. His issue was always underthrowing the shorter passes.  Before anyone says anything, yes I know Joe underthrew Jacoby on the famous touchdown but Joe pretty much put everything he had into that pass.

If there is enough separation, you can underthrow...  just my opinion, and just like Jacoby, and actually increases the odds of a clean catch.  The key isn't whether there was an underthrow as much as if there were separation downfield.  Contested catches are more of a 50/50 shot sometimes.

My opinion was always that Torrey was never a "hands" catcher...  He caught sooooo many passes with his arms and chest.  You needed to "drop the ball into him"...  He rarely went after and fought for it.

Winning in Pittsburgh would be great, but its definitely not a must win.  I think most people had the Ravens going 10-6 or 11-5.  In those predictions I think everyone had them losing to Denver and to Pittsburgh.  Losing to Oakland was the surprising one, so they have to win a game they are expected to lose, but that doesn't have to be Pittsburgh.

The problem has been that Joe is often throwing from his back foot in these two games.  That leads to underthrowing.  The question is how to fix this.  Is it better protection, more confidence to step into the pocket and get hit afterward or quicker decisions?

Flacco just needs to get back into throwing darts, and stop trying to lob balls...Be decisive and hit the WR in the numbers, and if he goes deep he has to go deep, and then put air under the ball so the WR's can go get it....But in the first two games, he badly under threw wide open WR's....I'm sure he watched the film and will correct it....Flacco might come off as laid back, he hates losing just as much as anyone....

Joe underthrew Torrey A LOT!!  That is how/why Torrey would get so many PI calls.  Torry would have to wait or go back for Joe's passes causing the defender to run into Torrey.

I noticed this as well.  How to fix this, is an interesting question.  It's not like Joe is a rookie, he shouldn't even been doing that at this point in his career.

Joes footwork isn't as precise as it was last year. Joe needs to go back and do some of the drills that he learned.

We could see Urban back before Perriman takes the field

Yeah, I know that is usually his issue.  Teams bring a lot of pressure up the middle, and he'll throw off of his back foot, because he can't step into his throws.  I think quicker decisions would be the best answer, but all of the above will help.
