[News] Dean Pees: Defense Isn't Defined By One Game

73 posts in this topic

I got confidence in Pees and the Defense! Just rush four no more than five and play everyone else back and the Defense can Wreak Havoc! Nothing but "MOTIVATION" over here! LETS GO

Smith will give the "wise words" to the entire team at the end of Friday's practice, the last full practice of the week before Sunday's home opener against the Bengals. He's already got the theme of his message prepared. "We've got to take this game personally," Smith said. "Our pride as a defense is on the line"

^ And so is mine as a Ravens fan! Lol!

Let's gooooo!

IMO i felt like we needed those two loses and especially the one against oakland so that we could identify our problems early and to take every team serious. I feel like (bold prediction) we will win 43-10 and WE WILL! I SAID WE WILL GET BACK TO RAVENS FOOTBALL !!!!!!!!!!!! LETS GOOOOOO!!!!!!

The Defense no longer has a "Ray Lewis" to get them to play spirited ball. And w/Suggs gone, it's going to be a long season, Ravens Fans. I hope being back home fires them up a bit. It should.

Its not one game. THis has been a pattern since he has got here. We haven't been physical since he got here! We have great athletes on that side of the ball.... we have talent there but no teams fear our defense since he got here!

I got a good feeling sunday, i didnt have one last week. I think we are going to be alright, like coach said if both sides of the ball can get in sync, then we are very good team. Plus we are at home, we got the desperation factor, the law of averages. Our defense will come out swinging, our offense will come to complement, we should all want revenge after the bengals ruined our home opener last year. I know i do.

What is Interesting, is that Every Ravens Defensive Coordinator Who DID NOT have the Zone Prevent Scheme, and Played a Real Raven Manup Aggressive Scheme, is now a Head Coach, or has been one after running a Real Ravens Defense.

Here is a trivia Question for the Newbie Fans: Who can Name all the Head Coaches that were promoted after running a REAL RAVENS DEFENSE? Hint: There are 3 out there as current HC's, along with others.

Bottom line, nobody wants a HC that tuns this prevent D garbage.

Hummm....bringing up Patriot comparisons may not be a good idea, can anyone name the DC that got slammed by the Ravens in the Wildcard game a few years ago? LOL, I mean I am the first one to give Pees a chance to right the ship, just no more "bend don't break" crappola, how about "bend and break offenses" stuff. GO RAVENS!

If you see the players NOT doing well, you make ADJUSTMENTS!!...your the man who is in charge of the Defense and nothing changed. Opponents used to fear the Raven's defense, now even the worst teams laugh and pick us apart...every game defines our defense and offense. Hone that edge. you've got the talent.

The last time I heard there were 16 games in this season. If the players gave up after 2 losses like some of our fans it would be a disaster. I am sure the Ravens are not giving up and neither am I. Win lose or draw I am here for the long haul. Go Ravens.

Dean, you need to have a defense that sets a tone early. Shot down the run, jam the WR's, and get to the QB. You're right, 1 game does not define a defense, but the Ravens built a style of Defense over the past 15 years that needs to Define this years Defense. It's your job to bring in the right guys, make the adjustments so our 2015 Defense plays like a Raven Defense.

Well at least for 2 games you have insisted on rushing 3 on 3rd and longs.....and that hasn't worked...Fix your schemes....

I'll tell you what if we can't stop the bleeding,meaning...the losing streak we have with them Bengals would be heart broken as a Ravens fan at home losing again to this team at home. Just catastrophic in this division.

I know it has been talked about by many fans, but most of us do not like:

1. Playing our corners 10 yards off the line of scrimmage

2. Three man rushes

If we get beat, we get beat but don't give them the easy stuff. I know blitzing a lot is stupid if you have an opposing QB with a quick release, but we need to be a little nasty. Playing soft is not playing like a Raven.

It will be better once we get rid of you!IA think it's long over due for a new Defensive coach hell how many Offensive coaches have we had? let get a new D-Cord one that isn't sitting on his butt away from the players come game time

It's time for our D to get back to some ugly nastyness. We don't scare any QB's anymore !

I can't stand watching young inexperienced QBs March their teams down the field on us like they are top tier QBs, and then to have the NFL network talk them up like it wasn't our secondarie's ( bend but don't break bs) and they are somehow great offenses...

Hey Pees if never BLITZ... Qbs sit comfy and cozy in that pocket all day long quick releases or not.

And to try to put blame on our secondary, no Secondary will cover for 5 seconds on every play... Let alone cover grear when evwry dang play you give the QB 7-10 yrd cushions free releases.

Ravens dont run a Tampa 2, soft Zone, patriots weak soft coverage defense... Bend but dont break BS! That you like to run Pees...

We run Man coverage, press coverage, exotic blitz package organized chaos Rex Ryan,Chuck Pagano style Legendary Defense. That made household names out of late round and u drafted players like Adalius Thomas,Jarrett Johnson,Kelly Greg etc...

The talent is on this team for a top 5 defense, Jimmy Smith,Arrington,Webb...Jernigan,Davis,Williams Dum etc whats misding is the Coordinator to bring back the Swagger and attacking style..like Rex and Chuck would

True one game doesn't define you but it has been many games and many seasons of this bend don't break mentality of Pees. Our 4th Q D always gives it away

We all remember the ugly Td the bengals got last season in our house that tied the game with seconds left, don't let it happen again
