[News] Sense Of Urgency Heightened For Ravens

35 posts in this topic

I don't care about pacman jones or kirkpatrick shutting down #1 receivers or cinch being the best team in football, all i care about that we go out there on sunday and Dominate the bengals on all 3 phases and get a W. One game at a time, forget the playoffs talk for now.

Clock Management! Clock Management! Clock Management!

Or lack thereof!! Or lack of proper play calling when we need it!! Or lack of being able to make adjustments!!

I don't care if it is a 1 point win, a win is a win and that is what is needed right now. We will bounce back, but we have to do this 1 win at a time. Focus on this Sunday, then focus on Thursday in Pittsburgh.

articles like these are useless, remember the one about the ravens not taking the raiders lightly? this is not the place that determines the ravens, their play does. I will say this though, I hope dean pees appreciates that he needs to perform better too.

Why isn't it always heightened? Why do we let these games slip? Whether it is now or later in the season, it always seems to happen. Our room for error just got that much smaller after the 0-2 Start. If we don't win 10 games we are not making the playoffs. That number might even be 11.

Either one of two things will happen on Sunday, either the Ravens will come out strong and throw up a two touchdown lead, or it will be a neck and neck game that fans will fear will come down to the last 2 minutes, where we haven't seen success for awhile. If Trestman doesn't get this team rolling down the field on the first couple drives, we could not only end up 0-3, but we could get blown out. The defense is what it is, but the offense needs to dominate and control this game. I could very well blame that loss on the poor play calls and lousy time management as we got close to the 2 minute warning in Oakland. That was on Trestman and his play calling, not on Harbaugh. Trestman needs to pull his head out and start doing those things that the Ravens have had success with in the past or he might as well go back to selling stocks because after his lousy showing in Chicago, to drag the Ravens offense down after the best statistical season in their history, is solely and wholly on Trestmans back at this point.

The Ravens are the only active team in the NFL to never start a season 0-3, according to ESPN Stats and Information.

^ My though process is that every time these writers bring up or mention a so-called, "never" concerning the Ravens, that "never" (from a negative perspective) always seems to happen. Last week, it was the Ravens "never" started a season off 0-2 under Harbaugh and now, look where we are...0-2!  So I say to the writers...Shhhhhhh!  Lol!

Now, of course, what the writers say has no bearing on how the Ravens play week in and week out, I know this so don't get on your soap box to try and explain that to me. Smh! This is just a simple observation nothing more than that!

Gilmore sums up the hole we are in. "Dig yourself in deeper or dig yourself out". I believe every word from Gilmore that they will do whatever they need to do to get a win on Sunday. If all 53 men fully adopt that mentality, the Ravens will play with intense fire (but keep their composure) and get the badly needed win.

We all waited 6 months for this season to start and have had the most horrible 2 weeks imaginable. This NFL season actually started earlier than anticipated. Week 3 and its a must win agains a divisional opponent that hasn't respected us enough in the past few years. Tighten your chin straps coz its on! The Bengals will suffer at Baltimore! It's time to leave it all on the field. Run every play like its your last. Make the sorry Bengals feel every hit! The season starts NOW!

Ravens nation! Our team needs us the most right now..... Forget all the negativity for a few days and focus on the ultimate goal. We NEED this win (together as Ravens). And we will get it!

Just do what I do. Go to your garage, snap a pice off any dusting table or something, put it in your pocket. Every time you remember the Ravens brink that piece out and keep knocking on it until Monday morning comes.

The Ravens will not start off 0-3!!!!!! The Bengals have earned themselves an whooping! (Knock knock knock)

We don't need a 14 point lead we just need to lead at the end of the game. Doesn't matter how much we win by just WIN. I know we are capable of doing this. Put it all together on offense and defense. It is the little things that can win a game. Put aside hostility and anger. No penalties for unnecessary roughness, etc. Go Ravens.%uD83D%uDE07

Now that we have seen this awful Ravens team play two ugly games, losing both a good team would have won, Cincy & Pitt are next up. 0 & 3? I would be more worried about 0 & 4. Neither of the upcoming games will be easier than those that they have blown. If you have watched these teams, they are ready. We are not. Soft defense lost both games. Until the defense stops playing on its heels and starts getting after the quarterback, we will not win. Pees scheme sucks and he doesn't do a damn thing about it.

I hope the sense of urgency doesn't translate into more personal fouls and on-field frustration. Just play your best, keep your heads, and don't give in to anxiety.

The Bengals are a much better team than we are right now, and our defense is sorely lacking in leadership and consistency.

From what I've seen so far, Trestman doesn't seem very invested in maintaining GK's run-first offense, as a lot of run plays seem to be HB draws out of the shotgun formation (reminiscent of 2013, where RR was averaging like 3 inches per carry). Either that, or the injuries to Monroe (and to Osemele, Wagner and Zuttah earlier) are causing more problems on the O-line than they're admitting. I certainly hope it's the latter, because it took 1.5 years for Castillo and the O-line to finally get that zone-blocking scheme figured out.

I certainly hope we win (especially since I'll be at the game!) but I won't be surprised if we don't. Seems like the Ravens don't really know who they are yet this season, and until they figure it out, it's going to be tough watching.

i agree that trestman should make better decisions, nobody wants to see the game boil down to the last 2 minutes.  but don't forget against the pats we had two fourteen point leads, our defense counldnt stuff the raiders after we finally had a lead. points are wonderful but if you defense isn't stopping anything it won't matter at the end of the game. also, all parts of our team have to play better. special teams have to help out, our offense has to roll and our defense has to do its job.

What I want to see v Bengals Sunday.... Continue to get TEs involved heavy in the pass game(Gillmore) Good things happen whwn we use TEs. And if Cinci decides at somepoint to Jam or double team Gillmore making it more difficult, HELLO!! Dont forget Mad Maxx Williams and Nick Boyle. We have 3 legit TEs make it 4 if Pitta gets back after week 6.

This next game will determine whether the Ravens have the heart to turn the season around, or not...If we win, we're in it for the long haul. If we lose, we'll be done for the season. Just how I feel. Regardless of what people aren't saying, this is a MUST WIN game.

The bungles got lucky last season Chykie tip the pass and green caught it NOT this season! Spread out the bungles and let Joe "LOOSE" or he will become too predictable and teams will continue to pick him off!

The Ravens never make it easy for us fans. Usually they manage to succeed, so I do owe Harbs, Joe and the whole team atleast this much trust. I do love my team no matter how frustrating things get. Go get 'em Ravens!
