I bet we'll see the offense of 1st week and defense of 2nd week together in one game some point during this season. My bet is during one of our primetime games.

Hopefully, we are a team capable of winning football games - especially ones that count. we will find out over the next 3 weeks when we play all of the AFC North rivals.

i said i wouldnt come back after my last post, saying that most likely Deen Pees will start playing more conservative now that suggs is down. Comparing the play calling he called during the denver game, and this game, you can very well believe he was more conservative. Im just saying and im not in panic mode yet, but ive said this for a few years. We should start thinking about changing DC, get someone that gets back to ravens football and actually sends pressure early and often

I don't think the defense played that well against Denver, Manning just missed Sanders on those long throws that Carr was able to complete. If Manning had made those completions and not completely crumbled under the pressure, then the outcome would have been an even bigger loss than what it was. Before we go making the bold statement that the Ravens defense was good against the Broncos and bad against the Raiders, lets take into consideration that P Manning couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Personally, I think Ozzie didn't grab any good corners or safeties, he got run of the mill guys and the are playing like run of the mill guys just like Michael Huff did, or Dominic Franks or Derek Cox or Jeromy Miles or Darian Stewart. At some point in time we have to get good players and not roll the dice that so so players are going to come in and become great players anymore.

I really hope Harbs had some private, direct and open discussions with members of his coaching staff to get a handle on some of the ineffective schemes and play calling. The Raven's have their backs against the wall and if they just continue to shove the round schematic peg in to the ill fitting square hole, then all the good player execution in the world is not going to be enough to reach this team's potential. If any such honest, upfront meetings took place among Harbs and the coaching staff, I just hope they elevated the meetings into seeking clarity, then begin problem solving and making the right changes. At 0-2, there is no room for egos, stubbornness, defensiveness or narrow-mindedness. I hope that we see a few concrete schematic and/or play calling changes that will allow this team to get back in this AFC North dog fight.

The Ravens have gotten away from what got them to the Super Bowl and that's the PASS! Put Crockett Gilmore at WR in the red zone need I say more our version of gronk! Keep throwing to these kids and let them get in the game instead concentrating on the last pass they dropped! Marlon can catch the long ball but Joe keep throwing behind everyone like Jacoby always had to almost stop to catch the ball Joe timing is off and he tries to sling it! Joe Flacco "MO YDS MO "Ws"! The run slows them down at times gotta strike first and fast like "MAXIMUS"!

It looked like the main difference between each unit in each game was aggressiveness. Against Denver, we played soft coverage early, and Manning had 2 long drives, resulting in FGs, and if he wouldn't have missed an open WR, it would have been a TD and a FG. When we started pressing their receivers and going after Manning, we were dominant. Our offense was extremely conservative until the final drive, when we actually moved the ball well.

In Oakland, the offense came out aggressive from the start, but the defense played extremely soft, often giving their receivers 10 yds of space, even on 3rd and short. In each game, the unit that was aggressive played very well, and the unit that was conservative embarrassed themselves. There were probably other factors as well, but that's the one that stands out the most to me. Don't be afraid to lose. Go win it.

I do not get the rant against Dean Pees really, Everyone wants lots of blitzing frequently but our defensive backfield can't cover. If he pulls them up, they will get beat long, if he plays off they get the short underneath stuff and we need to limit the YAK with good tackling. Dean Pees does not take the field, the players need to make the plays and stop the bone head penalties. I am afraid that the defense that we saw in Oakland is where we really are and the Denver performance was more that their offense is not where it will be yet as shown in their second game at KC. I am concerned that we have a talent problem in the defensive backfield and the PFF ratings for the past game reflect that. That's an objective analysis they provide and the corners and safeties were generally rated poorly with the exception of Webb how somehow escaped pretty clean.

Everyone looking for a Leader Joe Flacco is the leader of this team and he needs to OWN IT! His play can affect how everyone else plays and I know the Defense will respond putting the ball rite back in his hand's! Joe Flacco pumping up this team is what is needed BIG TIME!

Joe's not even throwing the ball well these days and that's fundamentals. If the offense comes out flat again I think I'll puke. I'm tired of them looking like Kyle Boller's offense. Really, I expected so much more from him this year. He is an 8 year veteran start playing like it. No more excuses! Just do it. This lobbing the ball stuff has got to stop. How can you miss a 6'6" WR?

We better find out who we are today, because in a week or two (if we don't) it won't matter; it will be too late. If we shock the Bengals, I'd be surprised, too, but we would have resurrected our season, at least temporarily. A loss Sunday and we are TOAST! Period.

Ok do not pay attention to my grammar but i honestly just had to say this to ravens fans. First off with last week performance, I really felt like all along for our offensive problems was that they needed to give it to our franchise quarterback in joe flacco and let him do his thing. I say this because ravens tend to get in a better flo in the game offensive wise when joe joe gets into his groove . IMO i really believe joe can put up his first 40 td season and 4,000 yard season if they would give him the ball . Why run the ball on first down constantly if it isnt producing any large amounts of yards for constantly, when we do things like that we completely just kill ourselves and its a waste of downs. Now on to the defense, i think ive shouted enough at the tv and that its pretty obvious that if we press the wr's and jam them at the line before their route im sure that it will create havoc for them to gain their speed and throw them off course. Get dirty, penalties are a part of the game so stop whining about them and move on. For pete sake send some blitz early in the downs i cant stand to see how easy opponents get to 3 and 1 or 2nd and 1 so easy because we back off and that gives them a better chance for those short quick routes cough cough new england in which they did on us . S o hopefully john get this team fired up on sunday and before because its now or never for us really . It might not look like it but i think it is. So pull up them socks give the ball to Joe and lets do our thing

I'm not as concerned with the Offense as much as I am the Defense. However, We have got to have better play calls, the opening drive of the second half this past week is a perfect example, as is the 3rd and 14 and we handed the ball off. That was like saying, OK, we give up on this drive. Play calling is horrible. We also need to mix it up a bit with the receivers, like to see Campanaro and Brown in the mix. constantly trying to force the ball to the old man is not working.

Defense, We definitely played better in Denver, but had the same problem. They can't get off the field. So many 3ed and long opportunities blown. The Oakland game was like watching the Bronco's 10:56 4th quarter winning drive over and over again. Secondary is just AWFUL, Pass rush almost non existent. Pee's better get this straitened out Quickly. We can't afford a loss this week at home. 0-3 is not acceptable for this team. And 3 games back in the division is even more Horrifying.

I serious don't think you can with this crew. You just don't see anyone standing out during the whole game. Here and there but never in each quarter.
