Week 3 Discussion(Other Teams)

119 posts in this topic

Here we are in week number three, and the NFL landscape is..... flipped upside down. Ravens, Saints, Eagles, Seahawks and Colts are all 0-2. These teams were considered playoff contenders in the preseason, and sit winless after two weeks. Will week 3 begin to right the ship and give us back the NFL we all know?

Key Games:

Redskins @ Giants: $84M later and the Giants sit 0-2 after poor clock management in both games. Redskins meanwhile just scored a win against the Rams and with the NFC East wide open now, this is going to be the chance the Redskins need to prove they can battle for the division.

Saints @ Panthers: Here I thought the NFC South would go from terrible to a 3 way battle for the division. Saints are in trouble with Brees suffering an injury and he may miss some games. For Carolina, they need to win this to keep up with the Falcons who are also 2-0.

Falcons @ Cowboys: What looked like it would be an important game regards to seeding in the NFC, is no longer that. Cowboys are missing Romo and Dez Bryant on offense, having to rely on Brandon Weeden.

Titans @ Colts: Heading into this game, who thought the Colts would be last and the Titans would be tied for first with the Jaguars? If the Colts want to turn it around, this is the week to do so. Falling to 0-3 and losing a divisional game is not what the Colts need.

Eagles @ Jets: Jets look like a legit playoff contender with their defense. They need this win to keep up with the Patriots who should handle the Jaguars easy, then of course who knows what will happen with that one.

AFC North Related:

Raiders @ Browns: Cleveland being Cleveland again, why? Josh McCown was named the starting quarterback again. Only Cleveland wouldn't run with the hot hand and see what Manziel can do after he's looked pretty good lately. Looks like Oakland has this one now.

Steelers @ Rams: Let's just hope the Rams defense can stop the Steelers offense and pull off a huge upset.

There are some great match ups this week. Early season games with big implications. Some teams cannot afford another loss. Giants win at home, the Skins are still the Skins. Panthers over the free falling Saints. Cowboys are just too depleted and they don't play that great at home anyway, Falcons win. Jets over the Eagles.  The Colts and Ravens both have their backs against the wall and both will come out fighting their way to wins.  Browns win at home. Steelers take down the Rams.

I am so hoping that the Jets beat Philly, sending them to 0-3.

I don't like Chip Kelly. I don't like his college style offense, it just doesn't play in the NFL against talented defenses.

They run they same plays over and over just out of different formations. The Cowboys knew what was up last week.

I don't like how he completely got rid of all of their playmakers to find guys who will just shut up and play within the confines of his system.

If they miss the playoffs, he's gone. I bet anything on it.

I wouldn't bet on him being gone, but I'd bet on him being stripped of his football operations duties and authority.

Man, the Redskins can sure mask their QB issues by becoming a run first offense with Matt Jones and Alfred Morris. Jones is going to be a solid RB to build their offense around in years to come.

I think Chip Kelly could be a very good offensive coordinator, but he's only an average head coach in the nfl. And he definitely should not have control over the roster.

Here we go again, familar situation for the Giants. A double digit lead in the fourth quarter, and well we saw how those leads were erased and turned into a 0-2 start against Dallas & Atlanta. I'm thinking with the Redskins, the Giants may be safe tonight, any other team, they might give up a double digit lead three weeks in a row.

Cousins had tons of open receivers but his noodle arm and poor accuracy doomed them. This will be his last year as a starter unless injury forces it.

I'm sure Tebowmaniacs are fuming over this.

I never knew there were still so many people who cared that passionately about Tebow until they came out of the woodwork in the preseason this year.

I don't know who has a bigger draw...Tebow or the Pope.

You missed one. Detroit. I was thinking 10 wins for them and wildcard. With the Broncos coming to their house will the Lions D led by the Royal Farm chicken guy be able to bottle up Peyton. Matt Stafford really reminds me of Flacco. Great arm but can be inconsistent. If he's on he's on.

Philly went Tebow crazy, but the city is SHUT DOWN for the pope. Sublet my old place for two days for $1200, and it's nowhere near center city.

These same people were still around when Tebow was in NY and even in NE.
