[News] Late For Work 9/23: Bengals: 'They Don't Like Us, We Don't Like Them'

That was Ed Reed texting, " Yo, let's dust off the cleats and get back and show these boys how it's done !"... "And I'm not joking!"

Bengals might not be a must-win mathematically, but on a psychology level, they are. If Ravens lose three consecutive regular season games after they have lost three pre-season games, it doesn't bode well to how this sort of thing messes with players' psyche. I never lose faith, I know Ravens can fight for it, but it really is a must win.

Don't get it twisted. Sunday is a must-win game. Leaving Pitt 0-4 Thursday night would be nearly impossible to overcome. Get 1 W on the board Sunday, then we can talk about getting to 3-4.

Even if I would like to believe otherwise, Sunday is a "Must Win" game. No mathematical perspective or spin is going to change that harsh reality. Let's get it done.

Not a must win ... oh, you really don't want to go there. Not with the current mental state of the fan base.

Even under normal circumstances ... home games vs. division opponents are massively important. At 0-2, what is normally massively important becomes must win. We cannot let this game get by us.

I know Joe has had game winning drives but to be the best at converting TDs is surprising. Joe's clutch-metrics haven't been good last 3 games unfortunately. A closer look at the parameters used to reach the conclusion makes me wonder if those were the parameters that had to be used to get Joe rating the best. Obviously these parameters exclude game winning FG drives and are specifically 3 minutes, not 2 or 4 minutes. I wonder if Joe is still the leader using any of these parameters. Nonetheless, save for Rodgers, Brady, or Big Ben, I'll take Flacco over anyone else in these situations. Go Ravens!

Certainly, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, as evidenced in this article. Personally, I tend to agree with the ones who Do consider Sunday's game against the Bengals as a "Must Win" game. We just can't be 0-3, with the Squealers coming next. Just my opinion.

I just hate New England... Actually I hate them more than the Steelers! Ben Volin is just a yellow dog journalist masquerading himself as a beat reporter. Some dolt!

No doubt about it. Sundays game is most definitely a must win. To travel to Pit on a short week at 0-3 would be putting ourselves in a horrible situation. Our projected goal should be to enter the bye at 5-3. That only leaves room for 1 more loss. So yea, it's a must win.

Yes, the Beantown boneheads have been yelping about "Harbaugh the Hypocrite" since the article titled "Ravens run exactly the same play they complained about" came out. Of course, the play was different in a number of ways, and that fact was even mentioned in the article. Didn't stop the author from using a misleading headline, though. Hypocrite...

"We're finally coming home this weekend, and we need you now more than ever." -- Raven's official twitter

Yes, our team needs to come into M&T with that place ROCKING. I sincerely hope the paying customers do a little better job of keeping the faith and trying to inspire than what we're seeing from a very vocal segment of the fan base right now.

I'll be very disappointed if the throng at The Bank is sitting on their hands waiting for something to go wrong so they can boo. That would not be like us, but it has been some time since faith has been this tested.

Let's cheer our guys on. We need this one and we're finally home. GO RAVENS.

The Bengals have been successful against the Ravens because they knew first what it took the rest of the league awhile to figure out about Flacco. Flacco falls apart under pocket pressure and 1. makes ill advised throws 2. starts throwing off back foot causing passes to sail. 3. moves feet and subsequently underthrows receivers. This isn't new to any Ravens fan who watches Flacco and it is not news to Marvin Lewis who has had his number for years. This game goes one of two ways, 1. we protect Joe and allow him to be accurate or 2. We don't protect Joe and we lose the game. Kubiak learned that early and made sure Joe was protected, Trestman still doesn't look to have figured this out so it could be a long weekend.

I mean... the talking is done.... the backs are to the wall. If we do not come out swinging -it is time for some overhauling. We have talent, we have depth. Yes we lost Suggs but like he said... we have been there before! Heck last season was a lot more tumultuous and we pulled it together. Get Dean Pees some help (if we refuse to get rid of him) lets hire an assistant DC. (to help keep Dean from playing soft and playing scared all of the time)> the new guy can make the calls, while dean can keep his position and get the credit for it all. It sounds like a win / win for me!

Happy Birthday John Harbaugh. Do we all know what you want for your birthday? Hmmm, could it be a big WIN on Sunday? Sounds good to me.

The Key to beating the Bengals is simply getting to Andy Dalton. Dalton is not a great QB but he does have great weapons. AJGREEN, MJONES, JHILL, GBEnard, etc... if Dalton has time those guys can make plays for him! If he feels the pressure though... he has shown that he will make the costly mistakes. SO 2 things this week. 1. Get to Dalton 2. Don't miss tackles. They will make plays but no free yardage- if Dalton has to make extra plays to drive them down the field he will make the mistakes. If we don't do those two things.... we will get carved up again by another mediocre QB!

Did you read the article?  It's not even about Joe specifically.  That portion was discussing the Manning brothers.

The last time we lost Suggs we still had  Ngata, McPhee, Lewis, and Reed to help absorb the blow. Now we've got Za'Darius Smith, Jason Babin, and Will Davis??? I'm afraid that we're in uncharted territory here. Sunday could get ugly.

need to pop dalton hard on the first defensive series. if he has derek carr time than we are 0-3. offense needs to convert td's instead of a ton of fg's. marlon and kamar need to turn the corner and take the double team off of the 36y.o. receiver that plays his butt off even at that age compared to young marlon and kamar that have yet to show up aside from a few catches between them. they do not put any fear into a defense. t.o. would probably be an upgrade over them
