Ravens have a hard road to playoffs after 0-2 start.

It will be tough but I thought if we were 4-4 after 8 I would take it with that many road games to start plus most of he tougher games being on the front half I would have us 10-6 an in but we can't afford any more mess ups after the Oakland loss before the season I had us 11-5 but the Oakland loss stings bad.

So your telling me...the more games we lose, the harder it is to make the playoffs? maybe we need a new strategy.

That was some good entertainment guys, in reality, we are able to make the playoffs until it is mathmatically impossible. 5 teams may have made it to the playoffs starting 0-3 but there is nothing that says a 6th team cant if we are in that situation. Unlikely? of course it is. Impossible? not yet. Didnt teebow win 8-9 games when the broncos were 1-4 and make it to the playoffs? just saying

your second part. they lost 2 in the AFC and 1 in the NFC during the 1-4 start. look up the playoff NFL implication scenarios. on top of that they went 8-8 that season. if you think us going 8-8 this year in our division will send us to the playoffs then all i have to say is "whoa".

youre talking about 2013, and they were never really a legitimate playoff contender. just because they were "in the hunt" a week or 2 in the middle of the season doesnt mean anything. and thats exactly my point they didnt even make the playoffs. they were actually terrible that year, as was the rest of our division.

If you're referring to the Steelers that year, they were a little better than "in the hunt" for a couple games. They would have made the playoffs if the KC field goal kicker didn't miss the last second kick in Week 17 against SD, allowing the Chargers to win in OT and take the last playoff spot.

We can't let SSS go out like a punk.

he's not gonna go out like a punk regardless, but I'd like to at least send him out with a winning season and a playoff run as well. Super Bowls looking like a pipe dream at this point but everybody knows if we can make it to the dance- that's where we turn it on.

Only one team from the NFC South and East probably make it. Seattle I think, at the very worst, at least slip in as a WC. In the AFC, I say only one from the South, with the possibility of 2 strong teams in each of the other divisions(I know only 6 teams). My point is, winning the division is the best option and still possible. It will be tougher to make playoffs in the AFC this year. I honestly think anything under 11-5 and you're out. Not only that, but teams you beat to get that record will be very important for seeding, because I think it will be very cluttered in the standings. Luckily, we play most of the teams who will be the competition, so we'll see what these guys have.

I'm not sure I agree that it will be tougher to make it from the AFC than from the NFC. If you're saying 11-5 is the worst record that will make the playoffs in our conference, than that means six teams will have a .688 winning percentage or better. Right now there are only four teams with a better than .500 record. It's too early to tell, of course, and you may well be right, but I don't feel that it's a given that any of those 1-1 teams will magically start consistently clicking enought to go 10-4 or better. I don't even think it's a given that the 2-0 teams all finish above that record. We'll no more in a month or so.

I was merely just saying that it's not over till it's over...

Well, they did go 13-3 in 2006, so they had to win five in a row then

Technically, they could have won 4 lost 1, won 4 lost 1, won 4 lost 1 and won their last game to get to 13-3. Many other scenarios of where they could get to 13-3 without winning 5 games in a row. But that is neither here nor there in this discussion.

We talked about this when the schedule came out. These opening 7 games are the toughest part of our schedule while it gets harder for the rest of the AFCN.

We need to come out of these seven games 4-3 IMO. We could go 4-4 and still have a shot but it would be really tough.

After the next two games we will pretty much know our fate......two conference losses already and THEN two division losses on top of that.......kiss of death. I hope we run the next two and remain consistent after that.

Here is my thoughts on the "must win" mentally that is running amuck here at week TWO

lol you linked a comic talking about the mentality of athletes. even jimmy smith said himself before the game, it is a must-win. i'll go with the knowledge of an NFL player over a stand up comedian.

we are now officially 0-3 with all losses coming from afc and divisional opponents, still think it wasnt a must-win?
