[News] Ravens Reconsider Second Long Road Trip

45 posts in this topic

We will unfortunately be 0-3 after this week but whatever. I think Harbs needs to reconsider this staying out West thing. I believe it messed up people's flow for the first two games. It's not like these guys are flying to China- it's just a 4 hour flight from BWI. You mess up the routine, then you mess up the results- see what happened to us the first two games? All these mental errors.. we should've at least won one game (even though our cornerbacks stink compared to other teams).

Totally agree w several others...long hotel stays are horrible, period. Away from family and down time isn't relaxing the same way it is when your home. Having said that, harbs teams have trouble finishing games. We should be 2-0.

the last road trip seem like it was a vacation rather than useful. waste of time. then the ravens might do it again..... why? with time difference it would be a 4:00 o'clock game. let the get up at 6:00 am instead of 9:00. quit trying to be like the white collar teams in the league and be the tough gritty blue collar team that made the ravens great. this prissy attitude is sickening.

I'll wait another couple of games before passing judgement - but at this point my initial impressions are:

1) I'm not impressed with Trestman's play calling or schemes. I thought we were supposed to continue w/ the running game and build on Kubiak's success. We have the same O line - yet we're not getting the run production. That = poor play schemes. Something is amiss there. Pass plays will improve over time as Flacco gets comfortable more w/ new receivers. Right now their timing is blatantly off.

2) I trust in Ozzie except when it comes to defensive secondary. With the exception of Ed Reed who is top notch HOF caliber - the Ravens secondary has historically been average at best and typically poor. This year is no different. Without Suggs and a decent pass rush - that will = opening up opponents passing game and therefore put more pressure on the secondary which Oakland epitomized. I'm sorry to say that w/o some secondary improvement - there may be quite a few more Oakland games this year and we may be A) losing games w/ our defense (something not seen in a LONG time) and B) in the early stages of a dramatic defensive overhaul going forward.

Time will tell....

Because we usually win all our games at home and then split out games(at best) on the roqd so we remember the losses alot more. It also seems like the fans get rowdier when the home team faces the ravens? Maybe its just me but it seems like it.

Sorry guy, but once in 20 years is not "usually". Usually we go 6-2 at home and that's only when we're playing well.

Biscotti has the final say. I don't think he's willing to shell out another million dollars just to get a L. If we are going to stink on the road, he might as well save his money.

They should let the players decide, and maybe that's what it will come down to. This reevaluation sounds to me like 'caring about the players' on the coaches/staff's part. Makes sense since it's the players who grind it out on the grid. Make them as comfortable before game time as possible...whatever that is. Stay in west...go back home in between...let players give the input on that.

Last trip players must have had too much time at the beach instead of practice especially our defense (what defense?) If can't hold Carr down what going to happen in the next 2 weeks?

I'm just down after that loss!
