[News] Ravens Reconsider Second Long Road Trip

45 posts in this topic

I hope the players (and some coaches) did not rebel in the game yesterday for being kept away from home....lol

Maybe one of these games, the offense and defense will show up the same day. If this happens, they may be able to eek out three or four victories!

There's something to be said about the comforts of home. People are creatures of habit and taking them away from their element in my humble opinion did not work as planned, at all. Just like the flat response the Ravens gave after staying and practicing in Philly, just fly home, regroup, and practice on your own turf. Experiment failed.

What I dont understand, is Harbaugh admitted they didnt make any defensive adjustments, this begs a question: What exactly is Pees doing up in the booth?? Watching the game as a fan?? What is he seeing?? Is he or an asst charting plays?? Isnt Smith or Moseby communicating to him on the headset? Why no adjustments?? Is the crappy Zone D the only thing he knows how to do??? Does he know what hes doing??

On a very important touchdown play, Pees had no control at all of Webby falling down and leaving a receiver wide open to score. He also had nothing to do with a penalty negating an INT deep in our territory (that may or may not have been picked, without the illegal foul).

What other team's in the NFL started the season on the road 5 out of 7 games on the road. I feel like the NFL likes to make life tough for us because we have a history of upsetting there favorites in the playoffs. That might not be the case but i'm just saying it sure looks that way to me.

THat stay in cali seemed like a bad move from the start. I think everyone felt that weird feeling that we were in for an upset. When you have our guys stay on the west coast it probably made it feel more like a vacation/exercise than business. Imagine if they had came back to Bmore, practiced for a few days, then traveled to Oakland. It would have made it feel a lot more personal and the instant animosity for a team living good on the west coast would kick in. Football is heavily impacted by emotion. And I felt like our defense played with no emotion as a group.

I know every team plays eight home games and eight away games, but why does it seem like we spend so much time on the road?

Because we usually win all our games at home and then split out games(at best) on the roqd so we remember the losses alot more. It also seems like the fans get rowdier when the home team faces the ravens? Maybe its just me but it seems like it.

Then who would they practice against lol

The offense can practice and take pointers from the raiders and the defense can practice against UMD to get our confidencr up.. SMH. Sorry, that last game still leaves me with an empty feeling. The same feeling as when we lost to NE in the playoffs.

The seahawks are 0-2 as well so.. I don't feel as alone, Boy misery sure does love company, and good company at that lol.

Seahawks made it back twice to the SB and could have one it back to back so I don't think thats the same.Ravens will have another 15 years to get there.

What do you think Dean pees says to the players when he reviews the tape? How does he justify his play calling?

I'm sitting here watching MNF and thinking Dean Pees needs to pay attention to the Jets DC, Kacy Rodgers. That dude draws up some sick blitzes and press coverage. It's painful to see all of that talent the Ravens have on D being underutilized.

"in the hotel working on football all week" is part of the problem. Have you ever heard of down time? Or life balance? Or over doing things? Take from someone who travels constantly for their job - living and working on the road is draining and can really get to you mentally.

It seemed like the whole team lacked energy and focus. It was either the sweltering heat, the extended west coast vacation, depression over the absence of Suggs, or some combination of the three.
