[News] Ravens Trade For Cornerback Will Davis

105 posts in this topic

I don't know about the new guy, but maybe he's going to be good. I was hoping for better from Webby, honestly. He tripped over himself and cost us a touchdown pass to a wide open receiver. I hope he rebounds, and Jimmy Smith needs to rebound, too. He gave up a bunch of chunk plays yesterday. I know Harbs is pissed about all of those penalties, too. I hope we learn not to be frustrated and react, because we need to be flawless the rest of the way to even catch a wild-card. Beat Cincy! We have the best Home-Field advantage in the league! The Ravens are going to need a loud crowd to drive them on to victory. And no Boo-ing them either! I hope the fans don't turn on another possible slow start.

I agree with most of what you said. Webb, stick a fork in him, he's done. He would be on the bench, if even on the roster, of most NFL teams. Jimmy did have a bad day. It's not only Harbs that's pissed about all the penalties. That's been an on going problem for the Ravens. Jernnigan's was especially ridiculous and STUPID. The only thing where I question what you said is about the crowd. You are absolutely right that the crowd noise could help, but there's another way to think too. I'm not saying that I agree with it but, listen, people pay a LOT of money to be at that stadium. Between PSLs, ticket prices, parking, concessions, if they so desire, they're shelling out the bucks. If they chose to boo their team when they are stinking up the joint, underachieving, both Offensive and Defensive Coordinators are calling horrible games, and our HC is not managing the clock wisely, I think they've paid for the right to do that. I'm Definitely not saying that I want it to happen. I'm just saying that I won't blame them if they do. They've paid their money to chose to boo or not to boo. I, like you hope they chose not to. I just wanted to point out the fact that they've paid for the right to do it if they care to.

Bolstering their secodary? Really? Didn't we just watch Miami get torched by Jacksonville? If this guy was available it is because he wasn't good enough to play in their secondary, the same secodary that just got lit up like Christmas. Oh, yeah, he is really going to make a difference for the Ravens. Good grief.

Have you ever really known the Phins to make great decisions when it comes to their roster???  Hence why their stadium is half empty every season...

I understand that Pagano is on the hotseat after last night....  The "super bowl QB" and his loaded roster took a real beating from the Jets last night...  Hmmmm   I wonder how that could possibly work out?

Still not really sure what I witnessed yesterday.

I'm pretty sure I know what I witnessed. I witnessed a bad team that a lot of people thought was good get beat by a bad team that people already knew was bad. I can only hope that we do not remain a bad team, but with our Offensive, and especially Defensive Coordinators, I don't see a lot of hope for much improvement. Pees, especially, just HAS to go. And I'm beginning to see why Trestman has bounced around to so many teams. Too bad his last bounce brought him to Baltimore.

Folks... yeah, we lost that game... but only in the last 2 minutes. Should we have beaten the socks off these guys??? Absolutely! We are NOT a bad team. We were a lacksidaisical team for some crazy crazy reason on Sunday.

I like this move. I like that we are bringing in a guy that seems to have a ton of raw talent. One year in high school, and a second tier college before moving to Utah. I think he's under-rated. This kid could possibly really help us out.

Both of our games came down to the last series for each team. I told my husband... "The team with the ball last is gonna win".... (now that didn't turn out as I hoped, but I really hoped we would have had it for longer than 26 seconds).

He was on that hot seat before the season started. After this start and a nationally televised stink bomb, that seat is getting really toasty.

There really seems to be something under the surface going on. Veiled jabs at the GM like, when he was asked about Luck’s struggles getting the ball out and the state of the offensive line, Pagano said “Been the case for three years now, has it not?" ... that sort of thing is only going to disappear with a championship ... and the odds are not in favor of that happening.

Correct.  It's not happening...  And when Irsay cleaned house a couple few years ago, you knew there was going to be a change.. and not necessarily for the better...  I gotta say one thing about Polian...  He was no dummy.  He did fine for YEARS...  I think the changes came about while good ole' Jimmy boy was on the sauce.

Joe Flacco has thrown a game sealing interception in all of his last 3 starts (New England, Denver, and Oakland). There's a fine line between 3-0 and 0-3

Finally objectivity again! Yeah everyone thumb down whenever someone criticizes Flacco. ?He should have won us 1 or 2 of those games. This is why people outside of here fail to put Flacco in the ELITE conversation.

so we get a CB and resign Meyers? but we didnt look for anymore pass rushers or at least try to work a trade for one?

didn't we just sign Babin?

Anyway as far as this move I hate to jump on the bandwagon but I'm sorry I just don't see it. I mean I guess it alright for depth purposes considering were a little light at cb but I probably would have rather kept the draft pick and just gotten our corners to improve their technique and start actually jamming receivers at the line.

I agree with you; they can boo all they want, it's not up to me and I've never been to a Ravens game, went to plenty of Colts games in the 70's as a kid, but I'm not a boo-er, anyways.  Thanks, for the nice post!

The team played with no enthusiasm and it showed. If they come out and play like that against the Bengals, Steelers and Browns.....you're looking at an 0-5 team in a couple weeks. They need to shake up the D some how....
