[News] Ravens Trade For Cornerback Will Davis

105 posts in this topic

Regardless of who the CB is on the field, could we please not have the CB's leave a 10 yard cushion between them and the receiver? Sometimes our CB's aren't even close enough to show up on the TV screen until after the completions. As well as look for some new additions to personnel, let's try changing the coverage scheme to cover closer instead of just chasing receivers easy completion after easy completion.

a better pass rush would help the secondary.

No, better technique and scheme would help the secondary more. When cornerbacks play 10 yards off the line of scrimmage on a third and three you're not going to get off the field too often without the other team scoring 7, 8 or 3 points.

I made a fool of myself saying we were going to shut them out but from now on I will keep my big mouth closed. lol But I hope this young man can help but this is not the problem. They are thinking to much they were confused over playing under playing not playing The front line had a lot to do with then throwing the ball, Our front defensive line did not rush that Quarterback ,So he had all the time in the World to throw and hit anyone he wanted So I truely blame the players and the only one can help them is them stop fighting yourself keep your head in the game When you get home you all will play better but do not act like you have something to prove, cause you will over play CALM DOWN. play your best play like a Raven. We will be there with you all the way with that said ALL of you offense and defense play greatfootball Sunday.

Picking up a guy who has been inactive first 2 weeks, and 10 months off an ACL injury. I think that says a lot about our defensive backs. Keep ignoring it in the draft though and scrape the waiver wire for dumpster value.

They should have drafted a corner this year. Webb has fallen off a cliff.

This drives me crazy. They did the same thing in our playoff loss. I know some of our corners get beat deep, but that is why we have safeties. Line these players up near the line of scrimmage and if we get beat, we get beat. Just do not give them the easy yards! That is on the coaches, not on the players. Also, this team has historically never done well only rushing three men. It killed us in the first half of the Broncos game. That was the one thing I liked about Pagano as our DC, it was a brief period when we stopped rushing only 3 and played a little more aggressive.

It doesn't matter who's playing CB if the opposing QB has 4 or 5 or 6 seconds to throw the ball. The Ravens' pass rush is already weak, but when Pees dials up those 3-man rush calls I just want to scream, you end up with 3 guys hopelessly flailing away against 5 blockers and something looking like a Chinese fire drill in the defensive backfield. Give that much time to Dalton and Roethlisberger and we'll be toast.

POSSIBLE OVER REACTION: It may be time to rebuild. Flacco is due 26 mil. Lets get some tools with that green, and perhaps see what QB's may loom in the draft.

You are not kidding.  I know these coaches are supposed to be a lot smarter about football than us amateurs out here watching, but I do not understand WHAT they could possibly like about the three-man rush when they study it on tape.  Maybe, instead of another CB, we should be trading for a new defensive coordinator - one who is willing to admit when he is wrong and move on to other plays that might work better.

I dread to watch the next 2 games. What I saw from the Raiders game was abysmal. Big Ben and Dalton are going to come out throwing and never stop. We are going to get embarrassed in Pittsburgh if the defense looks even close to the way it looked in Oakland. They have to get bodies ready to rush the passer and do it on a consistent basis. Stunts, blitzes whatever. The season is over if we fall to Cincinnati on Sunday, the schedule is too tough to come back from 0-3. Perriman is our only deep threat and we can't get him on the field. If they were going to trade for something they should have traded for a receiver. If we can't stop anybody, let's try to outscore them.

This team needs to apply pressure to the opposing QB......Plain and Simple !

Catching up to "Old Man" Manning is one thing, but there needs to be constant pressure applied on these QBs. I didn't get to see this game and only saw a few highlights.....but Timmy Jernigan needs to have his large rearend chewed out and fined for that ridiculous late hit. That is inexcusable.

Now.....it's on to get ready for Cincy.

CQ1 In all due respect, I don't think getting rid of one of the most solid (whether Elite or not) QBs in the NFL make sense on ANY level. His contract will certainly be restructured to reduce his cap hit. Can any fan that has been through the Vinny to Flacco years really want to go back to those days? Really, I mean Really (in the best Amy Poehler voice)

First we need Perriman ASAP to stretch the field. Second, stop making our CB's play 10 yards off the line, does Pees not see that week in and week out we get burned by short passes that gain 5 - 10 yds a rip? Have faith in our CB's and press everyone, trust that the safeties will have the top covered. We just gave up 300+ passing yds to the Raiders, THE RAIDERS! I fear for next Sunday against Cinci with this performance.

How about a WR, or a viable pass rush to help the secondary out! And I haven't seen anything about Tim Jernigan's dumb personal foul call that put the Raiders 15 yds closer to the end zone! What a bonehead play! I don't think our secondary is that bad, our D line seems to need help as well as the WR corps.

I have so much to say, But i'm very disappointed so far i know we still got a lot of games to go, But once you start losing, It's hard to turn that around. Not to mention we have a pretty hard schedule this year, Not to mention we've had some bad luck to boot! I Know T-sizzle was a massive part of out Defense, But i thought some of the Veteran's would step-up and take care of the slack not just in there Physical play but as emotional leaders. Webb & j.Smith didn't do so hot they did okay threw out the game but when they needed to step-up all they did was fall on there face. I expect that of L.Webb all that money they've paid him is such a waste. No to mention the holding/Passinter. calls on the secondary was bad they pretty much gave the raiders the points to win the game. I do not like Dean Peas I've said this so many times, he really needs to go, the only reason we've won the Superbowl with him is because of who we had on our Defense that year! He needs to go and never comeback. I'm shocked at John Harbs i think he needs to take a step back and regain his touch cause he's losing it. I hope they get there act together Come sunday even if were at home how can we win if we can't beat the raiders and there offense is at it's top our D will be crushed if something doesn't happen
