Ravens trade 7th-round pick for CB Will Davis

Everyone would love that, but teams don't give up those types.

True, but we could have traded for one that is somewhat of a project. Smith looks really slow off the line and Upshaw just doesn't have pass rushing ability.

i don't get it. This guy has been non existent as a player. A bust. We give up a pick for a guy thats nothing more then a camp body?

The FO have lost it.

In a win now league..the projects need to be undrafted.

you don't waste your picks on ''projects''

Is this a real statement or just an overreaction?

All reports say this guy isn't good. Dolphin fans saying he's a non-factor. Seems like a waste to me. He was inactive the past two games and the Dolphins secondary isn't that good.

inactive because of injury? coming back from an ACL?

Because 4th round picks are always sure fire contributors, right?

I wouldn't. I barely consider this to be action at all.

By all accounts, he's a project.

Please. You dont make trades like this two games into the season to grab a project! The Front Office must think he can contribute this year.It is also an indication that management thinks we have major problems at corner.

They say due to injury and lack of skill. He's the current Webb clone.

seriously this is a head scratcher..

is tray walker that bad?

what a waste of time. We should from this point on trade every 4th rounder to move up in the 1st and 2nd because we clearly can't find any true gems in the 4th round anymore..outside of pitta it's been our bogus round which is a shame as thats where we tend to have a lot of picks.

The ignore button is your friend.

(Not that I'm saying you should use it on anyone in particular, I'm speaking generally ;) )

Sami it's just a  seventh round pick you act like The Ravens just traded their third round pick for  the guy and announce Davis will be our starting number 2 or 3 cornerback for the rest of the season. If The Patriots did it people will probably say this is another genius move by them but if The Ravens do it people think Ozzie lost it

Not sure why we traded for CB depth? Is Melvin's injury that serious?

You can never have to many corners, as we found out last year.  Melvin should be back this week against Cincy, but if an injury occurs I would rather have Davis out there then converting a safety to nickel corner or having Tray Walker thrust into a prominent role.  We basically traded Nick Easton for Will Davis if thats how you want to look at it

i liked nick easton in pre season.

Will davis is a scrub. Think chuckie brown but worse.

Exactly. Realistically speaking, the best I'd expect is maybe a Jayrone Elliott type, a player who has flashed but has yet to prove himself as a starter for whatever reason.

Easton played well but we did not have room for him.  Sometimes players need a change of scenery and they play better or up to their potential (Daryl Smith comes to mind).  Not saying Davis will be a good player for us, but having corner depth with experience is important and is needed.  Who knows maybe he will make some plays for us then everyone will be excited saying this was a great move

Clearly, the FO knows something we don't. Otherwise, this makes zero sense especially when we need WR help more than anything. We need playmakers period.
