Sounds like he might still be cleared to play for a bowl game. Swap "season-ending" injury with "six-week" injury and it's suddenly not so bad.

I was thinking something similar about him being there in the second. I think our second-round guy will be a first-rounder who falls for some reason, so if that guy might be Docston I'm completely sold.

I don't think Doctson will be there but crazier has happened. I think Boyd is much more likely.

Man, I wouldn't be complaining about Boyd at 32 either. There's going to be some good value at that spot.

(also it feels weird to talk about us picking at 32 on the assumption we end up with the #1 pick as opposed to being optimistic about winning the Super Bowl)

I am a big fan of sterling shepard. He is having a huge year so far, but still probably will be around in the 2nd or 3rd. He has big play potential and good RAC. Check out his stats and highlights.

I don't think I would throw an early second at him, but if he is there in the third definitely take him. A possible trade back into the late 2nd would probably be worth it to me.

Hes very shifty.  reminds me of a Emmanuel Sanders type.  Very close in size

I will say this about Tyler Boyd. That is one tough dude. His NC tape has him taking head shot after head shot after head shot(+50).

Combine that with his sticky hands and smooth route running. I want him here. I demand him here. He's tailor made for a Trestman offense and would finally be the WR that Flacco has dreamed of... And I think he'll be there in the second. He does lack speed. And we have a blazing fast man who will also basically be a rookie next year to compliment him.

I like Tyler Boyd however I personally want a guy who can make big special plays. Boyd is good in his routes and getting separation which obviously we could use. I want a guy like Cory Coleman or Sterling Shepard. Coleman will probably be gone in the middle of the first if you ask me. I think he is one of those guys whose stock is going to continue to rise going through the whole process. I think he will garner more attention than Treadwell honestly because Coleman is maintaining high level output and Treadwell though he had a big start to the season he isn't looking like he will keep that level of play up moving on.

Personally since we will probably start running double tight end sets i think the role he would have could be taken by our tight ends. I would prefer a Antonia Brown, SSS, Brandin Cooks type of guy who can turn an intermediate route into a huge play. Personally I don't think Perriman is anything more than a Torry Smith 2.0 which is fine, but we are going to need someone who can create big plays. I think our tight ends will be the third down guys. I think we need that dynamic of big plays that SSS gives us.

With all that being said  I obviously would not complain with getting Boyd. Technically speaking he probably is further along than most anyone else in this coming draft. He is definitely the kind of receiver who is going to get the ball as he has proven so far this season. He is a reception machine. If his lack of speed makes him drop to the second and we grab him you'll see no complaints from me. Just not my personal preference in his style.

I'm glad you mentioned him because I agree. Not sure why he goes unmentioned here but I really like him and mentioned that I'd also like to have him.

On Boyd, I think he's the WR I want the most. I really like him a lot and I think we'll get good value with him in the second round. I think he'd be a perfect complement to Perriman or another guy we'll draft to play deep threat. I think we'll take 2 WR again this year, and I'll love Boyd here. He's the reliable WR Joe loves.

You thinking mid round or late round pick for the second WR and who are you liking?

I wouldn't be surprised to see us double up on the receivers and Shepard and Coleman seem to be reasonable headliners draft day. It really boils down to how much production they accumulate by seasons end, any bowls they play in, combine results/ numbers and the hype. I looked @ some film of both and I'd be stoked beyond belief. I truly appreciate that lead. Keep up the good work guys/gals.

I think we'll take someone early and maybe someone late, like 5th round late. I don't have any names yet. I'll get those a little later. I've only watched games mostly on t.v. and haven't watched much like I normally do where I pause and replay, which I do later when I have more time.

As much as I'd like to grab a wide receiver in the first 2 rounds, I really don't think it's practical. Look at the position we were in this year relying on one rookie to be a #2 receiver, now imagine drafting another high and relying on 2 guys who have never played a down in the NFL to be our saving grace. I don't mind taking a wide receiver high but we NEED to either sign or trade for a solid wideout this offseason.

So, I had said Corey Coleman would have a really tough stretch of games from Oklahoma to TCU because he'd be playing against two top 50 pass defenses (Oklahoma is currently 23) and three ranked teams.

His stat lines in those three games? A whopping 9 catches for 136 yards and no touchdowns, or 3 catches for 55 yards and no touchdowns, per game. Compare that to the 7 catches for 142 yards and 2.5 touchdowns per game in the prior eight games where he played no ranked teams and mostly defenses ranked outside the top 100 of pass defenses.

I haven't gotten to see the games and I'll be waiting for the footage to become available to go see what went wrong, but that's a serious drop off when faced with actual competition.

Did his starting qb not get a season ending injury or am getting confused?

Seth Russell did, but that didn't stop him from dropping 11/216/2 on Kansas State. And I wanna say that the starting quarterback now was like a five star prospect, so it's not like they're throwing in some scrub.

Although, I did just see Stidham didn't play against TCU, so that makes a difference, but doesn't really change my opinion that he's overrated.

I haven't seen him, I just knew he had a injured qb in there somewhere

Jarrett Stidham took over for Russell, which I don't think was some monumental downgrade, and then Stidham broke his ankle and Chris Johnson took over and he's been someone who has hardly played outside of cleanup duty.

Itl be hard to get a true gauge of him to close the season out then really

I just still don't like his skill set, really. And that's what it comes down to. I think he exploded onto the scene because he put up really great stats, but when faced with better competition, he faltered, even from just a skill standpoint. He just wasn't looking as good against Oklahoma, although, I do want to see TCU and Oklahoma State.

I second this

Lol, I'm a flip flopper here, that post was about two months old and after reviewing some prospects and what not I honestly have changed my mind. I really like Treadwell but I think at this point you get a CB like Hargreaves or an OT like Tunsil.

We need to add a proven receiver. Yeah we can draft one at some point but would be too risky to use another first for one and have two top receivers next season who haven't played a snap in the Nfl. Would be much wiser to improve the pass rush or bolster the secondary.

I don't think it's fair to call someone a flip flopper unless they do it excessively. Opinions change all the time. Even then, I wouldn't say that unless their opinion changes every week and they make absolute statements.

I wouldn't say my opinion has changed on Treadwell, I just don't want to see us pick him over guys like Hargreaves, Tunsil, Bosa, Stanley, Ogbah, or Lawson.

I see where you're getting at. My opinion doesn't change weekly, I usually stick with the same guy honestly.

I’m honestly fine with the idea of drafting Boyd and bringing back Aiken as our No.4. I think Aiken has put up consistent efforts and is clearly better than any other WR currently. I think Aiken has really caught on. I think we can have a hot offense with Steve Smith Sr, Perriman, Boyd and Aiken. I don’t expect Steve Smith to pick off from where he left off, but at least he’ll be a quality WR. Boyd to me, is the most pro-ready player in this draft, while Perriman can still prove something out there.

That’s if Steve decides to return.

you never know, aiken could end up really learning the route tree very well and becoming a reliable and savvy technician, the kid has tremendous heart and effort.

I do agree with that, I think Aiken has improved as the season gone by. I think he's a good No.3, not a starter yet but I like what I have seen from him recently. I honestly think we need Tyler Boyd.
