[News] Ravens Have To 'Regroup' After First 0-2 Start Under John Harbaugh

47 posts in this topic

No duh we need to regroup. First order of business, tell the docs to shutup, this is the NFL. Perriman's health will be irrelevant if we keep dropping these games early on, particularly to division rivals. Get him out there.

Secondly, Pees either does bend-but-don't break, or we use blitz packages. This man coverage non sense with one corner that's got two fake knees and one coming off a lisfranc fracture is only gonna result in biting on double moves to compensate for their lost speed.

The Ravens are not out of it...but they have to overcome not just a few mistakes, but many mistakes to get back on track. It can be done. It's best imo to be a realist first optimist second. Get the real issues fixed, then the optimism takes care of itself.

this loss was blamed on defense because they were not play hard like week 1. also, when we were last three minutes in the 4th inside oakland 20 we decided to pass instead of run which was bad call because we should made them call their final time out and put more pressure on them with no time out.

I remember when Ray Lewis was injured during the Super Bowl year. Ray was on the sidelines inspiring and leading. I hope that Terrell is able to do the same as soon as he can. Sugg's body may not be able to play but he can still help the defense with his leadership, passion, football strategy and intensity. Defense was a fiasco today and having Sugg's motivating from the sidelines couldn't make things any worse.

How about wearing a Throw-back uniform to rekindle the "Raging Ravens"? Change some things to generate fresh energy. Toss the current play book and look at what works now in the NFL, not five years ago. Where is the creativity this traveling offensive coordinator is supposed to bring?

They don't need to "regroup". They need to be aggressive on defense and not sit 10 yards off the line of scrimmage in a stupid zone defense all day. Just ridiculous. Even when Oakland was on the 10 yard line, there was no press coverage. Zone for crap sake! If Carr can light them up, what do you think Ben and his great receivers will do? Offense play calling sucked too. How do you throw a 2 yard pass to the sidelines when you are ahead and trying to run the clock? Just too stupid to believe.

I can't believe that I thought this team was super bowl calibre during the off season. We suck. The media overhyped the team just like they did with the Falcons and Texans back in 2013 and the Saints last year and we all saw how they did. Oh well at least we'll be picking in the top 5 in the draft this year.

I hate the way Flacco talks...It hurts a little bit! Really! No it hurt a lot Flacco. Too many times we drive down the field and can't get 6 we settle for 3 and the lack of defense bends and breaks when we need them to get a stop. Ya'll need to show some emotion like Smith Sr.,you're not reading defense's correctly, seems like you've lost your touch of consistency Flacco. INT when driving to win back to back games. Long season that will get worse.

I said it this week they do not have the horses to win it this year, better off letting joe flacco go and using the money to bye other players

It's all that vanilla defensive play calling! Why are the CBs giving WRs too much cushion?? I don't see any help so it's 1 on 1 and they need to play PRESS. Simply-put. Our offensive play calling was not any better. We are on Oakland 15 and we gained 2 yards!! (We called a TO to stop the clock for them too) and ended up kicking a FG. I knew we lost the game right there cuz the defense couldn't stop anything today. We lose to CIN and that might be the season. We still got PIT twice, CIN twice, SEA, ARI, SD, KC, SF, MIA, and if the defense plays like this, we even gotta worry about the Cleveland Clowns.

"ABORT" the run for now! Running is like giving the other team a chance to win and The Ravens gotta get on the gas and get these points! Pass 1st half run in the 4th!

Should have kept Daniel Brown #83...the ace in the hole...for 4th quarter plays...he would catch a bomb for a touchdown if he and Renner were in there...very disappointing. After all, you do need to SCORE!!!!

Cincy came to town (Oakland) with fully rested, beginning of the season. Baltimore came to town after staying in a hotel for a week. And it showed. Not to make excuses, but... The scheduling people gave the shaft to Baltimore. Take a look at Harbaugh (above). He looks wrinkled and lacking in sleep. I'm sure the stay in San Jose was no vacation. The walk through on Saturday at Stanford just wasn't enough to get the team ready to play. You interrupt a person's regular habits and it takes a toll. This team looked beat yesterday and for good reason.

Let's see how they play after they get back home.

Teams that start 0-2 have about a 10% chance to make the playoffs. Of course, that factors in teams that actually had home games in that span. The Ravens still have a shot if they can miraculously manage to win 7 of their home games and half of their remaining road games. After yesterday, though, my optimism is waning.

This is rough and eye opening. I hope this loss serves as some type of motivation because this is not cool. Steve Smith hit it right on the money. We know who we play and when, we just need to show up on those days. This loss is really going to hurt later in the season.

Not going to be popular but Joe actually sucked again this week.

I'm not happy with our Elite QB right now. Seems like he's going backwards.

Can't blame WR's not getting separation or the line not protecting him because they were and he just couldn't throw it to save his life. If it was over 10yds, he had no touch at all. The worse part is, he's a 8yr vet so there's no fixing this in my opinion. Would anyone rather have had Carr as our QB for that game and do you think it would have turned out different? Heck, I think Renner would have similar stats if he had been the starter. Not happy at all!

This loss is disturbing. Disturbing because we lost this one so totally different than our first loss. Are we going to be one of those teams that seem to be able to snatch a loss out of the jaws of victory? The kind of team that seems to always be able to find a way to lose? As brilliantly as our defense played last week, it totally stunk up the joint this week. I know Suggs was our team leader, especially our defense's leader, but I don't believe that that his absence was the whole reason that we had No pass rush. Despite his leadership abilities, he's still only one player on the field. Some affect, yeah, but the whole reason, No way. Is this defense Ever going to be able to stop a late game winning drive? At this point, it would appear not. When we score as many points as we did yesterday, we should win the game, PERIOD! And I have a question. All week we were questioning our coaches' ability to make in game and halftime adjustments. Well, yesterday halftime adjustments Were made at halftime but, for the life of me, I can't understand why. The entire first half our offense was throwing on first down, gaining yardage consistently, leaving short conversions for second and third downs. The offense was so effective that we didn't have even One punt the entire first half. That's good, isn't it? Well, then why fix something that isn't broken? Despite the fact that we weren't way ahead and trying to run down the clock. Actually, it was like the beginning of the game since it was tied, just like a new game. But, we changed our offense.?? Our very first possession, we ran on first down, ineffectively I may add, and wound up with our first three and out of the game resulting in our very first punt of the game. To me, there's something wrong with that picture. I thought halftime adjustments were meant to change things that weren't working, not things that were. Our adjustments should have been on defense, not offense. I thought Webb, in particular, had a very poor game but, I guess, I really shouldn't single him out because there was plenty enough blame to go around. Jernigan, what in the heck were you thinking when you got the most ridiculous penalty of the game when you hit Carr so late? That's going to be a roughing the passer Every time. Can Campanaro please get some snaps on offense? He's not on the field nearly enough. I have to believe he's in Harbs' doghouse for some reason. This was a game to forget except for the fact that it might have told us a lot about how our season might go. I sure hope not, but I have nothing to count on at this point except the fact that I'll never give up on my team. But, people, 0-2 is NOT good, except for Last place in our division. I sure hope they can turn this ship around.

I live in western Maryland,so our two city high schools are very small so, because of student numbers, they are classified in the 1A division. But, Fort Hill, one of them, has won the State Championship the last two years. Just two games ago they lost their first game in quite a while, breaking a 29 game inning streak. This loss was to a 2A school, and Fort Hill fills it's schedule with these bigger schools because almost no 1A schools will play them. I mention this only because I think this team's offensive coordinator is a better play caller than Mark Trestman. I really do. Trestman's calls leave me scratching my head sometimes, often actually, and wondering what the heck he is thinking. A lot of times his calls defy logic. Sorry, Mark, but that's how this fan feels.

I'm not going to give up on team either, but not optimistic at this point either. The players seem to depend too much on something external to their own abilities (coaches, key players?) not sure exactly what...but I said it before I'll say it again...seems the players generally lack confidence. Flash back to our SB year..li saw/felt a lot of confidence from players. Even when we were down, they believed in their ability to turn the tide. You just don't get that feeling this year from players. They look a bit lifeless. A bit hesitant. I hope they prove these words here wrong, I truly do. This team is better than this.

Last year, we had terrible corners. This year we have no wide receivers, and we still have terrible corners. Ozzie should've kept Torrey Smith around- really. Bernard Perriman won't be the answer- at least he could've kept Jacoby- we don't have a burner. Plus, our defense played soft again because we were playing too conservative- just like the offense last week. Unfortunately, and I called this before the season, we will not be making the playoffs. Call it the Torrey Smith curse- for everyone who said he didn't do anything in Week 1 for the 49ers, he had over 100 yards receiving and scored on a long touchdown yesterday- too bad for him that Kapernick sucks..
