[News] Game Recap: Raiders 37, Ravens 33

132 posts in this topic

This game felt like a large splinter jammed up your fingernail bed. All the experts declared our win while the Del Rio led Raiders game planned and executed their escape from their typical bad Raiders status.   We have to transform into the Dominating Ravens and establish our game plan against the Bengals @home. Perhaps Babin and a healthy Monroe can help in that endevour.    We are not the only ones in the rear of the pack.  Giants, Eagles, Seahawks fans are as upset as we are.

Don't give up the ship yet. Remember that the Harb's Formula is to win division games and win at hone. That is still intact. Go Ravens.

I for one have not given up.  These games are close and nail biters.  We need that dominating mojo to take over the last two minutes. There are only two games played but this oncoming Bengals game is mighty important.

Boy, I wish I could feel confident since we're finally getting back to M & T for a home game, but after watching both of the Ravens games and both of the Bengals games, I can't realistically think that we're going to win this upcoming game. Of course, being a RavenManiac, I will ignore reality and force myself to believe anyway. Turn it around Ravens. Win these next two games to avoid a 16 game season.

I think the team just needs to get a dominating win to realize hey we are fine without Suggs. I remember how the Ravens struggled after Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb went down in 2012 and they struggled a lot for awhile. While they weren't the best defense in the league it was enough for us to get to the play offs. Luckily these two losses aren't against division opponents, there is still a lot of football but that just means the Ravens need to play stronger through the stretch. I bet once the defense holds another offense like they held Peyton Manning they will realize that they are good. 1 person doesn't make an entire defense. What I'm worried about is the offense being consistent against a decent defense.... Raiders secondary was garbage but good enough for them to win I guess. They definitely played better yesterday than our secondary.

Had Crockett as my fantasy tight end week one.. Got me two points... So I dropped him... First half of raiders he had 20 fantasy points... Hopefully he continues. I love watching him bulldoze people.

kyle arrington is probably our worst corner we've had since chykie brown, but he's gonna cost us a few tough games before the coaching staff figures it out. Heres yet another game the ravens lose because of its lack of WRs that can play. Why is WR the only position that ozzie can't figure out? its sad, steve smith was by himself out there, Marlon brown is worthless aiken should be a 4th option at best, this is sad to see.. aw well go ravens :/

I agree with you that we shouldn't expect much from Brown and Aiken. Campanaro is better than Both of them when he is healthy, and I do admit that he is fragile. But, as long as he Is healthy, he should be playing. He Is better than Aiken and Brown.

I responded to John's story last week that J Smith was a serviceable corner but not Pro Bowl caliber, not yet anyway and I was castrated on here with about 50 down arrows well, he was burned several times yesterday including for a TD and drew a real dumb penalty, as I said not Pro Bowl caliber. The entire secondary is not playing well and Dalton may just rip them apart again this coming week if we don't get some significant pressure on him.

Jimmy Smith is pro bowl caliber. He is top 7 and probably even top 5 behind Revis, Sherman, and Peterson and he is on the same level as Chris Harris. He plays well every game. Corners get a flag every now and then it is football and almost impossible to cover a wide receiver without drawing a flag. He let a couple big plays because of the defense Pees called not him. When you play 10 yards off of a receiver of course they are going run by as fast as they can because they start running before the corner so they reach their top speed faster. Pees needs to stop playing so far off with the corners we played close after half time against Denver and our defense destroyed them. It is the defensive calls not Jimmy Smith. And losing Suggs doesn't magically put 37 points on the board for a mediocre team, bad play calling does. The entire secondary did terrible and it's time to move on to the Bengals. Remember the schedule is front loaded with away games and the last half is loaded with home games even if we manage 4-4 the first 8 games I wouldn't be surprised if we went 6-2 the last half and that puts us in play off contention. Good thing we can fix these issues early on.

The Bungles have the Ravens number because soon as Red gets the ball he throws it. The Ravens corners play 10-15 yards off the LOS and have zero chance of defending that offense.
