[News] Game Recap: Raiders 37, Ravens 33

132 posts in this topic

including the loss to the patriots last season, it seems the trend of flacco throwing a pick to seal the game is becoming a habit.

all the "exotic looks" and carr wasn't touched,

come on guys, come on. this a team headed for 0-5 (at the minimum) if we let the qbs have hours in the pocket and our entire offense consist of sss

It was quite evident how Sizzles presence was misse. Amazing how one man has such an impact on the defensive intensity of an entire game. Oh yea, did Dumerville play today?

Fire Pees

Fire Trestman

Cut Webb

Defensive Secondary: What kind of technique are we playing out there?! Why did Arrington release that receiver when the Raiders were basically on the goal line? Did he think he had help over the top??? What top? You're on the goal line. The minute he released him he was open for a TD. What was he expecting Will Hill to come flying in to knock the ball away. Why was there so much confusion on D today. Why do the CBs give 11 yard cushions on 3rd and 5s? Are we that afraid of getting beat deep that we concede the 1st down marker?! Do we even know how to play press coverage? Webb has lost his skills-- period and is a liability. I can't wait for Melvin to return.

Defensive Line: If Jernigan isn't ready then start Kapron-Lewis. We couldn't get off a block to make a run stop for nothing in the world and what made it worse was when the Raiders did run our ILBs didn't plug holes. Upshaw is horrible. He couldn't even stop the run, which is normally a staple of his. Please don't put him in situations where he has to play pass coverage. He can't do it!

Play Calling: What did go well? Do we really need to pass that much? Why run a bootleg when you haven't even established an ability to run on the other team's defense. You are asking someone to rip your QBs head off. Why didn't we try to run more? What was Trestman THINKING down in the red zone during our next to last

series.

Finally, Joe should not reinforce the moniker of "Jump Ball" Joe. He has got an arm and touch and the ability to be accurate, so he needs to do so! The over and under throws have got to stop.

Also, flacco needs to cut it out w/ those freaking lob passes off his back foot. I mean... we don't have boldin or torrey anymore. Throw strikes for crying out loud. I know he had a good game but could've had a GREAT game if not for that stuff. The pocket was clean all game. Step in and throw ...

I think everybody is overreacting. After further deliberation, this is the best possible thing that could happen to us. It adds fuel to the fire with a season in which we'll be definitely on fire come November, when we play our best football. Would you rather be us at 0-2 or the 2-0 Cowboys, whose wins we're both loses, on account of losing Dez Bryant and Tony Romo to injuries, with the timetable of their returns being about 8 weeks, need I remind you, two integral parts of their offense that essentially carry the team also? I'd rather be us. 10 and in. Believe me, these next to games will be must wins. Which means, there is a possibility to sweep the division this year, or atleast end up 5-1 which should win it. If not, that should be a lock on a wild card spot. Because week 17 vs the Bengals will also be a must win. And we always sweep Cleveland. With us being a dominant home team, if we win all 8 home games this year and 2 on the road (Cinci, Pittsburgh), that should do it. I'm no psychic but we have to take these games one at a time. I said last year after that loss to Houston we needed that and we'd get in the playoffs the next week. I'll be damned, it happened. Remember, there are plenty of teams that make the playoffs after starting 0-2. The Colts did it this year and who knows if they'll win tomorrow? The 01 Pats and Giants started off the same way and won it all that year. We're gonna be fine. Go Ravens!

I wouldn't want to be in Harbaugh's shoes come tomorrow. He has more work to do than anyone could possible handle. The FO needs to make some major trades and acquistions right away. The present crew look a bit flat.

First week offense could not get going second week defense could not get going. What's going to happen in week 3? Bengals are the top of the division too. This Stinks!!!!!!!

That 2013 first and second draft pick and now 2015 first round pick is killing this team.

True - Elam is terrible and perriman who knows if he will ever help this team

It's quite obvious that our CB's play wayyyyy off WR's out of fear of getting beat deep. This is primarily how we lost the game. Don't know how many 3rd and short plays there were whereas Webb/Smith was playing 10 yards of their man instead of attempting to jam the WR off the line. Carr and Stevie Wonder seen this and politely took advantage

GAME RECAP: Tums over Maalox 3 1/2

GAME THOUGHT: Time to rebuild

GAME QUESTION: Asides from Joe's total yards / completions, how many noticed soooo many underthrown balls-primarily in the first half.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT: Actions speak louder than words.

Well....Maybe we should have flown home last week, and then flown cross country for this game....At least we would have had a little bit of a excuse.....:(

So the defense falls apart because Suggs went down, they said this the first time in 16 years that Reid, Lewis, or Suggs has not been on the field to motivate the team. Well I think John H has got an obvious problem here because all the player coaches are gone now and John H is on his own!!!!! No advice from experienced motivational players.

its our team, our Ravens, but they suck really bad, and there is nothing we can do about it but wait and see how they improve the next game. Feel like we've been hit by a peter Built truck. 0-2 already!

the only consolation in both these disappointing losses, is that they played poorly on 1 side of the ball and nearly found a way to win on the road both times. had guys not missed catches or that interception stands, we stand 2-0. hey, usually we are worse than that and it is sealed up in the second half. if they show up the next 2 games and get wins, these losses stink, but we can salvage a solid season i think. 6 of last 9 at home and brown/dolphins on the road.

One positive comment from this now cranky fan. Beyond excitement for plays by SSS, my biggest moments of celebration were the grabs by Crockett Gilmore. I just love watching him smash his way past defenders or just mow them down. Once he gets the ball in his hands, there is no bigger monster than Gilmore to try to bring down.

I'm usually the first to point out the flaw's of the RAVEN'S organization, because I care,I care about the PRIDE of the TEAM,I care about the PRIDE of BALTIMORE and the PRIDE of our fan's.but I watched very closely and I didn't see anyone QUIT on that team, yeah, they looked stunned and dejected because of their PRIDE,but they didn't QUIT.it's a fine line between winning and losing in this league.there are key member's not playing out there, yes without SUGG'S we look ordinary on defense, and the guy brought in to streach the field like TORRY did isn't playing.yes it's gonna be a long year,HARB'S is basicly coaching with one hand behind his back, but I didn't see them QUIT! and they won't QUIT!

Trying to stay optimistic, because I know 2 road games to start the season really is sucky, and I know we are definitely in a hole right now, but part of me says they will rebound, and the other part of me says I am afraid we are in for a looooooooooong season........ C'mon my men in purple, prove me wrong on the looooooong season.......

How many teams get off to an 0-4 or 1-3 start and do anything? History shows in most cases that kind of start means a top 10 draft choice.

Sure lets give them the Lombardy trophy because they didn't quit. SMH

I know it's just 2 games into the season but too many mistakes mostly by the coaching staff.

The decision to stay on the west coast was bad... So many players complaining about waking up at 4 in the morning. The Defense coordinator didn't show up today. A no-name quarterback scored 37 point on you...No pressure what so ever.No adjustment at halftime. Sad
