The Good, Bad and Ugly vs Raiders

But he was sold as a thinker. A cerebral type. So h e needs to play chess with the pieces on the board. That's all I'm saying.

Dumb series of plays called around the 2 minute warning.  The play out of bounds and then killing a TO.  That's when I began to get worried.  You're right.  I'm not giving up hope though.  Still plenty of season left.

Another thing...lthe penalties.

How much have we racked up past 2games? Felt like 300freaking yards

Very undisciplined. That Jernigan penalty was the worst.

When you think about our defensive roster, you just can't believe they played that bad today.  It just doesn't make sense...  It very well may be time for a change... I'm in no way a coordinator basher...  but something needs to happen.

I seen at least five 3 man passrushes on 3rd down. smh.

btw..derek carr is a very good QB in the making.

Could easily be a better QB than flacco.

Flacco just doesn't have a great touch on passes.

Don't get me wrong..he throws a perfect spiral and has a huge arm..but when it comes to the weight and passing direction? he's below average.

Speechless. Just .......

Speechless. Gonna have a really bad taste in my mouth for a long while. The only way that taste is gonna be removed is if we somehow win the next 2 divisional games and get back to .500 - but at this point all bets are off.

You all know me for constantly trying to stay optimistic- but

To lose in the way we did? The constant roller coaster goin back and forth in the first half - tying it up at halftime, then actually taking the lead In the 4th quarter and actually having a glimmer of hope and praying that the defense can actually just pull through one time so we can leave the west coast with a split, wow. it's just downright pathetic. The last score I saw was 33-30 US with about 1:20 to go and I refused to watch any updates or look for the score until I saw the full highlights and I actually told myself that we had won and it was all good. Boy was I kidding myself. No heart whatsoever. How many times are our drives gonna stall out in the redzone and us having to settle for feild goals? This has constantly killed us. Had it right in our grasp and gave it away. I've almost forgot what it's felt like to win a game. It's been quite sometime. What can you say? There's some reasons to be hopeful , were going back home and perriman will be returning soon, but it's hard to believe he's gonna make too much of a difference. If it's not one thing it's the other. First the offense now the defense. Blah blah blah I've invested too much time and energy on this team for us to flop like this. You won't hear anymore optimism from me. Whatever happens happens, if we somehow pull the next 3 games out of our behinds and get back above .500 then great. If not then so be it. Hate the thought of having to watch a whole 2 months of ravens football with us being out of contention, but it's starting to look more and more like a reality . End rant.

The good: Crockett Gillmore is a freaking animal. Wow. He's hard to bring down once he has the ball. Offense improved including the line. Sure, a missed throw at the end of the game sucked but we improved.

The bad: Whole defense except CJ and Doom and Will were awful and can walk home.

The Ugly: The fan reaction. This Raiders team lost a fluke game and it is evident that this team isn't that bad offensivley. Carr is a good QB.

Will hill screwed up like a chump. What is up with him always showing off on every single coverage he makes? He screwed up today as much as he tackled.

Oh and arrignton is [not good] So is Webb.

Its still early, I'm not giving up yet either. But a two minute drill is when he needs to make it happen, and so far, not good.

That's an overstatement. I'd somewhat understand had we bombed defensively against Denver, but we looked much, much better defensively last week when we put up an outstanding performance. The defense struggled mightily today, but I'd prefer to wait one week before labeling this as the worst defense since practically our inception.

Pretty much, last week was terrible on offense, I am willing to let the defense have another shot to bounce back but they need to here. Cincy is a better team than Oakland as well , maybe we will finally see how these units stack up as they have both been pretty inconsistent.

Suggs makes a huge impact but not that huge. Suggs may have helped in the pass rush department and against some of those runs. But until you stare any problem right in the face and address it, it'll continue to be a problem.

The defense flat out sucked today. They didn't play with aggression, passion or intelligence. It looked like they didn't scout the Raiders at all. There were no defensive adjustments after half. They killed the Ravens with quick passes throughout the entire game. Guys looked lost in zones and Pees didn't seem to manufacture a pass rush until late in the game. I don't wanna speak on it too much because i haven't gone back and looked at the game again to see who or what worked well. But it was bad.

I will say this about the defense. They got humbled. Last week Jimmy was asked what could they have done better to win. His answer was, score more points. While that answer was direct and true, it could have come off as the defense saying the offense didn't do enough. When asked what could have been done better today, both Flacco and Steve said it's a team game and yoy win or lose as such. These guys better stop letting that "Ravens Defense" thing go to their heads because Ravens defense hasn't been played in a long time and teams don't fear playing the Ravens anymore.

Without Suggs we have no swagger. However our overall personnel is the issue. IMO we have become milquetoast and prime examples of where complacent attitudes and poor coaching  will lead. Honestly I think the problem has to begin at the top of the heap with Harbaugh, Trestman and Pees.

Defense was atrocious, but back to the lack of playmakers on offense...I look at the FA crop...James Jones, Stevie Johnson, and Eddie Royal all could've been had. Heck, Crabtree too.

But instead we give generous money to Schaub and system product Forsett? Huh?

Yeah it may not be the flashy thing to complain about but we really need to get in line and play disciplined football. We had over 100 yards in penalties against the Raiders, no team should ever have that amount period.

Saw this on another forum...I have to agree.

I don't disagree, but I think our offense can be nasty we just aren't using what we have in the right way. We are not a finesse team. We need to play nasty football and we have guys to do it. LT and Buck are hard runners and sock people in the mouth. Juice makes solid plays in the flats and lowers his head and barrels into guys. Crocket takes half the other team to tackle and isn't scared of anybody. Maxx has shown a physicality and willingness to hit people in the mouth, but doesn't get a chance. and SSS is a menace. So why aren't we playing old school hit them in the mouth football when that is the team we have. We need to stop trying to be like this offense or that and just except we aren't a flashy offense. We are physical and we should run an offense that shows that.

ozzie hasn't been that great in the draft..he's got some good talent but nothing incredible..

Sorry but kendrick lewis and Kyle arrington are good depth players..not starters.

Webb is done. has been for years now..

our coaching staff has seen better days too.

"Full Presser: Dean Pees Talks Replacing Suggs On D"

Of course. Excuses Excuses

It'll be the excuse all year and the excuse to keep him.

Ignoring that if Peyton doesn't dead-arm balls last week we get blown out then too WITH Suggs.

Also ignoring that our defense hasn't been great since Pees took the helm back in 2012.

i agree

i told everyone on this board about trestman..its cam cameron all over again

aslo joe is just not a great QB..he really is so flawed..that unless he has a boldin and a D that bails him out more often than not you can't really on him..

We had Suggs and his "swagger" last week and the team wasn't impressive either.

This comes down to bad personnel and bad coaching.

I'm not going to so quickly dismiss Trestman.

We are in trouble.

What did you guys expect? Our secondary was garbage last year and what did the FO do to change it this year? You  think they relied on Webb to regain form this year but we all see he sucks.

Another issue that has plagued this team year after year is Wrs not getting separation. Is this team that inept to get Wrs that are atleast above average. And where in the heck was Camp did he see any time at WR????

Pees definitely has to go, yes the players have to execute but if they continue to fail time and time again eventually the coach has to be accountable. Just like in any other business if the employees continue to under perform the manager gets fired.

Yeah, I'm tired of the close games too, because many shouldn't have been close, but our mistakes made them close. And the freezing up in the red zone has gone on for too long. We drive the ball down the field but then seem to stop making good plays once in the red zone. So...getting across one end of field to the other...no problem...but the last 20 yards become a big deal all the sudden and last year we settled for so many field goals because of this. We'd not only win games, but we'd win games without "sitting on the edge of your seat style" IF we performed better in the end zone consistently.

He had neither last season, set franchise records offensively and nearly took out NE again. Another defensive failure.

it never looked like they were going to touch carr today..he could have had a 30 min power nap and upshaw would still be 2 meters away

I'm not really upset about this game .Aiken indeed messed up but he rebounded later on in the game. Webb messed up at times but I think his only bad part of the game was when he fell down and left Crabtree for a toucdown. Honestly your secondary can be really good but if there's no pass rush then somebody going to get open. The Ravens probably should  have had Babin in there but maybe he didn't catch on to the playbook to their liking which is why he didn't play.

Team looks Sloppy as hell...We were down 10 points from the start! Way to soon to blame Trestman..We have 1 person that can get open on offense and if someone besides him makes a play he is taken away and no one else can step it up... Our O-Line and Defense as well terrible...Man i hope this was a off week for them (west coast travel) But to lose a game of this importance there is no excuse starting 0-2 is Inexcusable. Im sorry to say lads season is not looking good we need to hope and pray that when Perrirman comes back he can make a difference and that we can get this o-line sorted out. Only positive is Flacco Tucker and SSS. :help:

Only a matter of time. Didn't you know? Dean Pees is the only dc to deal with this! Man, after these last few years he must have a heavey weight on his shoulders. Lets all light a candle for him

James Jones is only good with The Packers.I think by the time Eddie Royal and Stevie Johnson was signed The Ravens still had Ngata on the team and not alot cap space. Crabtree on the other hand could have been had but there was alot concerns about his healthy or his ability to play well again because he look bad last year .

I really don't like to kick a guy when he is down  but I feel your pain. Maybe you can understand a bit more as to why I'm so negative on this team. There are so many personnel issues and nothing is a quick fix. Get ready for an 0 and 4 start and right now I'm not really sure Cleveland will get us in the win column.

Hate to say it but I think it's time for Harbaugh to go.
