The Good, Bad and Ugly vs Raiders

hahaha :)

I just got one too, best money ever spent!

Funny, we just bought one... I'm watching LOTR later on it to see how it is.

Anywho. I don't blame this on offense. Defense was soft.

But who are we kidding Pees isn't going anywhere, the FO will just say "it was Suggs being out" and we'll be stuck with him for another year. "I like Pees under fire." Uh huh.

Biscotti will get to a point where he fires him.

Poorest Ravens defense since the 90s for sure.

That's an overstatement. I'd somewhat understand had we bombed defensively against Denver, but we looked much, much better defensively last week when we put up an outstanding performance. The defense struggled mightily today, but I'd prefer to wait one week before labeling this as the worst defense since practically our inception.

We need to come up with an offense that utilizes our strengths. Wide receiver is not a strength, tight end and running back is. either two running backs or two tight ends should be in the game. Juice looks good catching the ball out in the flats and Crocket and Maxx play like ravens. They are nasty and run right at you and challenge you to bring them down. We are not a finesse team so we need to stop trying to bed.

And though the offense played well overall today...again it should be noted that Oakland was not healthy on defense at all. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see the offense lay an egg next week against Cincy, a team that we ALWAYS struggle against regardless of how good we are.

Absolutely a possibility.  Not saying the offense is all that either. Only that they did their job in this game on this day.

The narrative seems to be "oh look how much Suggs meant to this defense," but the mere presence of Suggs isn't going to make our guys stop missing tackles or Webb faster. However, it was noticeable how much worse our pass-rush was and how much easier it is to run on McClellan and S.Smith.

However, Ravens never cease to surprise me. They always seem to bounce back somehow and tear off several W's. We'll see.

Absolutely...  everyone doesn't realize the impact guys like Suggs have.  It was definitely noticeable.

We were lucky Peyton dead-armed a few balls, otherwise we would've been blown out. Sanders killed Webb last week.

Everybody is slow...RB's slow and not dynamic, Slow WR's, Slow TE's, Slow LB's (outside of 1, CJ), and slow CB's.

This is a very slow team. Not only slow, but none of those positions...outside of CJ change direction or have outstanding short area quickness.

Saw this on another forum...I have to agree.

Yeah I don't know why we weren't running more double tight end sets. I feel like Maxx has proven himself when he has been I and Crocket has more than proved himself. He is looking like if pitta does come back he will come back as the number 2 tight end

They looked at Maxx. One time on the first drive.

Was skeptical of Trestman, and I'm still not sold, though it should be noted that our weapons on offense are pretty bad. But do I think we're better with Kubiak? Abso-freaking-lutely.

And there was no reason to abandon the run on that last drive when we were trying to eat clock.

I agree we should have kept running the ball, but Trestman calls a bootleg and a throw that even if completed would have lead the receiver out of bounds.  You could see Harbaugh on the sidelines furious with that play call.  I do not know how much freedom Flacoo has at play calling and input into which plays we run, but he needs to have more.

The Good: The offensive line looked much improved and Gilmore showed he has developed his receiving skills.  Webb looks like he has gained some of his old form back, he is atleast a decent 2nd corner right now.

The Bad: Pees has not adjusted his defense to defend today's NFL offenses.  Jimmy Smith is big and physical yet Pees has him playing 10 yards off on a 3rd and 3 play.  The defensive line was a non factor and Z'darius Smith/Courtney Upshaw cannot rush the passer

The Ugly: Pees needs to go, i am not a fan of in season firings of any coaches but this is necessary.  Brooks is a possible guy to take over but someone needs to replace Pees.  With or without Suggs this defense has a ton of talent and shut down one of the better offenses in the NFL last week.  This week there are open receivers running and sitting in holes while we sit in a soft zone.  We need to blitz more without Suggs and have our corners play press man coverage when we do.  I am not half as knowledgable as these coaches and players and even I can pick out where the open receiver will be.  Harbaugh needs to rally the troops here and motivate this team.  He is a great leader and motivator and he needs to prove this once again.

I just can"t imagine how bad this season this is going to be, the defense didn't even get their QB dirty, and we could not even stop their running game! I can't believe it was all because of the loss of Sugg's!!!

sorry..i have seen great players on other teams miss seasons and they still are respectable.

I never thought i'd say this because i despise the cowboys but they have showed incredible heart and determination.

The ravens have lost their identity..because they don't have that trancedental player..

He keeps them playing with fire also, keeps the light under their butts. That wasn't there today. Someone needs to step up and get those motors going in another gear when nut up or shut up moments arise.

When you think about our defensive roster, you just can't believe they played that bad today.  It just doesn't make sense...  It very well may be time for a change... I'm in no way a coordinator basher...  but something needs to happen.

I was expecting more, but in his defense, he's not working with all the pieces. From week 8 on, this offense could be much more potent, especially if Pitta can come back and Perriman gets a little rhythm with Flacco. Would also help if that LT getting with the 5th (I think) highest contract on the team starts getting on the field and performing.

But he was sold as a thinker. A cerebral type. So h e needs to play chess with the pieces on the board. That's all I'm saying.

Correct... applies to another team and their forum... not ours...   Our offense was not bad today AT ALL...

Two losses is SO frustrating. There is one consolation...we are still fighters...this team. They fought the Raiders, and Broncos...just not solid. Last week the defense kept the game close, this week the offense kept the game close. What frustrates me most is we need someone to steer the ship. Or get some feel of leadership. Someone step up already!!! We face Begals next week...helps its at home. But still, we need everything we got and more...

Yeah that's why I didn't get too excited about what the D did last week. There were a bunch of plays that Peyton missed.

Bengals 33

Raiders 13

Ravens 33

Raiders 37

Think that sums it up.

Let's see the Bengals post 30+ away from home.  Frauds.  GO RAVENS.

That's true but we were aggressive. We got to Peyton early and we kept on getting consistent pressure. That is what happens to Peyton with pressure. He didn't have near those issues this week.

We did none of that this week. We played the typical Pees game ALL game. No adjustments at all.

The good: Crockett Gillmore is a freaking animal. Wow. He's hard to bring down once he has the ball. Offense improved including the line. Sure, a missed throw at the end of the game sucked but we improved.

The bad: Whole defense except CJ and Doom and Will were awful and can walk home.

The Ugly: The fan reaction. This Raiders team lost a fluke game and it is evident that this team isn't that bad offensivley. Carr is a good QB.
