The Good, Bad and Ugly vs Raiders

726 posts in this topic

So much for a dominating team, it seems that either the offense or the defense decides to show up each Sunday. Bengals jammed receivers, and applied a pass rush, they win ....we play off 10-15 yards? and we lose. Come on guys, get it together....GO RAVENS!

I'm personally surprised that we didn't run the ball on 2nd down when there was just over two minutes on the clock. A first down would've sealed the game and the running game was working late in the game. The missed TD throw to Steve Smith Sr. and the unnecessary roughing the passer by Timmy Jernigan were key plays that I'm sure everybody winced at.

Last throw to Sr in the endzone was a perfect throw. He had no way of knowing that the defender was going to get picked that much as he through the ball. That is 100% on Steve Smith. Perfect throw where nobody but the receiver can make the catch.

I can understand what your saying. He threw it before the defender lost smith but it was still to much to the sideline. He had to make that throw

At least next year some of these bad contracts (Rice, Pitta, Webb) won't kill us as much...and no doubt Flacco will be taking a pay cut if this keeps up.

Pees needs to be gone. Hopefully the Colts really do fire Pagano.

Webb, Arrington, Trestman, Every garbage WRs except SSS (aiken 2 catch at 4th quarter way too late).   Plus Joe being completely inaccurate for 2 games.

Things have to shape up fast.  This is a EMBARRASSMENT.    Fix it...FAST

Simple. We need to play well on BOTH sides of the ball. We cannot have a game in which only the defense plays well and then a game in which only the offense plays well. We need to play complete damn football, which we have not done.

So here's what I think. We either get our crap together and beat the Bengals and MAYBE beat the Steelers, and possibly go 2-2 or 1-3. We do that, we have a chance. We lose the next two and its over. Period.

And while I won't "not watch it," I certainly won't devote my afternoon to the games either if we're gonna just let teams win.

Also, if Oakland goes on and becomes a contender I'll look back on this loss and just say whatever. But if Oakland loses the rest of the season, we are fools for losing to them.

I'm not so pessimistic. If we lose next week IN Baltimore, I'll be all in with you

I hear you but the Bengals tore up the team we just lost to today and are currently 2-0. Can you even imagine what Ben and Rivers will do to this defense?

Kyle Arrington, why did you stop and let the guy who caught the go ahead TD go right by you without jamming him or staying with him? Unbelievable.

We need to do what we did with Cam and fire Pees before things get worst. We should have never let Teryl Austin go to Detroit with Caldwell. Should have promoted Austin to DC and let Pees walk.

yes exactly!

WHAT!>>!>!>!>?!??!?!?!?

talk about the dumbest post of all time

Please go watch the play again.  Or learn how football works.  Smith was in position to get his other foot down and stepped instead of dragging his foot.

Schedule:

vs. Bengals

@ Steelers

vs. Browns

@ 49ers

@ Cardinals

I'd say there's a real chance we go 1-6

We can beat the Browns and Niners...everything else looks like a loss.

Trestman doesn't know how to run this offense. I expected the defense to come out flat. they are going to need to adjust and someone needs to step up as a leader. I'm looking at you Will Hill.

And conversely, what will our sorry offense do when they're playing a defense that isn't missing about half their starters?

meh, yea it wasn't KO's best game, but he's been pretty good his career so far minus injuries.

I agree, but this just seems like a different KO than last year idk

He made the throw, it was caught, Smith just didn't get his foot down.  Watch the replay.  That is where you are supposed to throw the ball on that play.  Maybe it isn't a good play, but that is the spot the ball is supposed to go.

I think this might be the new norm for our defense. Manning could've dropped a few TD's on us if he could've thrown the ball better.  Both the Broncos and the Raiders had WR's open all day.  Not a good things especially when combined no Suggs.

This team is just a mess. I'm done with this carp. See you all next week when we're 0-3. The Bengals own us and I don't see it changing anytime freaking soon. Good night

Smith has a chance to drag his foot if he adjusts properly to the throw .

Jimmy Smith is NOT an elite cornerback, so people stop saying it please. Ladarius Webb needs to retire or be benched, and Timmy Jernigan needs some type of punishment to come down from Harbaugh. There is no excuse for his horrible penalty which was the biggest factor in losing the game. THIS GAME IS NOT FLACCO'S FAULT. IT BELONGS TO THE PUTRID DEFENSE. I see 0-4 coming up.

Completely inaccurate? Joe had a QB rating over 100 today and you shouldn't need to beat 37 pts for a win. Please. Pees is a problem - it is time for a Cam move with him. Not impressed with Trestman either but it is only his 2nd game with us.

Yep, Manning missed 3 TDs last week because his arm couldn't handle it. Sanders especially was running free past Webb all game.
