Luck has better weapons every year he's been in the league outside of OL

More talented skill positions. Our o line is much better though.

... and that is so important for Flacco, I'd say more important than the weapons. Luck can get away with a bad O line to some degree because of his mobility. Flacco's strong and can get off a pass with a guy on him, but his escapability isn't great.

If I'm not mistaken your the "Head" coach. Game on the line YOU need to get the guys in order. Hate all u want but I've seen a coach in New England inspire n continue to remind his players in situations like that...n he's been doing it for a very long time. its a very intense time during a game where emotions run high, plus let's face it some of these guys aren't the sharpest. Coach u need to remind these guys not to commit these penalties. Yea it was dumb but it was dumb for u not to be on top of that just like it was dumb not to challenge SSS catch or call a TO with the game on the line in a championship game...cmon folks Dude is so on the hot seat. The d played week 1 us against the world inspired football. Week 2 they weren't riding for the coach. Prove me wrong boys. If we start 0-3 when we had SB on the mind yea I'll say it's time to panic.

Merged your thread with the existing reaction thread, just a heads-up

I think many of us can relate to that in everyday life, especially at our jobs...when the deck is stacked against you, some people complain, and eventually fold under the pressure. Others view it as a challenge, and have utmost confidence in themselves, and using it as a crutch or excuse is like giving up on themselves. Obviously we know which group Flacco belongs in...excuses are unacceptable to him personally. Doesn't mean that us as fans can not acknowledge when the deck is stacked

I can get with this.  However, by Joe not saying anything negative about the challenges of having a new O.C. nearly every season or a new QB's coach and new personnel etc., as the cause for the offensive woes and struggles at times; you're talking about his being "politically correct".  I don't do the "political correct" stuff man!  I just love being correct meaning...call it what it is!   Again, imo since Joe doesn't use that stuff as a crutch for why the offense plays poorly at times neither should we fans even though we may feel that the deck is stacked against him cause he doesn't!

Oline

stunk in Denver . Not convinced with the injuries there how good it is.

Colts have much more speed on offense than we do .

Don't forget he's in a cupcake division, defensively.

Well, we have to remember that in his rookie season, Luck had 60% new roster personnel and coaches and in his rookie season, he had like seven rookie pass catchers, including three of his four top targets in Hilton, Allen, and Fleener. He's done quite a bit with very little while playing with 26 different lineman since 2012. That's three full seasons and two games for TWENTY SIX. I wouldn't say Joe has carried his team more

I'm not denying that this division is much more difficult. I'm just saying, I think he's more crucial for his teams success, has been asked to do more and is only in his fourth year, with one of the worst GMs in the league. People complain about the drafts we've had. If Ozzie drafted like Grigson for 2 years straight, every Ravens fan would forget the SBs and ask for his immediate resignation.

That's fair. I wasn't really disagreeing with you, just sort of adding to the points.

There aren't many teams with less speed than ours. Not saying much. We need more game changers on both sides of the ball.

Last night steve young said he would rather have a great o-line and average receivers. A good qb will make his receivers better a bad o-line will make a good qb like luck look bad. If the ravens sign a dez or green type wr for huge money and let yanda and osemele both walk would flacco and the ravens be better.

No, Joe needs s great team in order for him to look good unless it's the playoffs. We'd need a great o-line and a good receiver core. Edited by Cillmatic

Which is my point. A good o line to me is more important than the weapons. Look at the Falcons last year. If you have no time to get into your route, the best wrs won't matter. A good o line will also help in the run game.

hilton > Smitty > Dre > moncrief > dorsett > Aiken.... no excuses luck

Having a great WR core is great and all but there is more to a team than having a great WR core. A good O-line and defense go a long way in helping a QB.

Agreed, I would easily take a great O-line over great WRs, if the line can't hold up, how is the WR supposed to get the ball?

Also never forget 2013

I remember a couple of years ago when the Pats receiving corps looked bad early and all of the commentators were like "Brady needs help!" The same Brady who can make any receiver look good? The same Brady who got in a hissy fit on the sidelines when his receiver ran the wrong route or whatever and people said that he's a "fiery competitor?" But you get my point.....

I never could understanding that especially considering how The Patriots haven't had alot success when it comes to drafting wide receivers. Even when Brady offensive line hasn't been great he's not the same player but for some reason Joe Flacco needs more?.

being in a bad division surely helps

meh they would probably win most divisions although not by the margin they are used to.

maybe, maybe not.  But if they were in our division instead of the brows, i highly down they would be handed 6 wins yearly...id like to see how many wins they average in their division over the last 8 years

When has Brady not had a great line? The Patriots have easily had the most consistently good line for the past 15 years, no argument.

2013 was pretty poor and 2011 wasn't exceptional.
