The Good, Bad and Ugly vs Raiders

That is a fact so hopefully the defense gets its act together.

Sorry but no. The OC change was mentioned and credited quite often last season when the offense was playing the best they had ever played. The offense DID play well. This is not something brought up about week 1, this is about this week.

Sorry but I'm not buying what you are trying to sell.  Lol!  I do believe that my post clearly indicated that I'm talking about this present season beginning with game 1 vs the Broncos?  Not last season under Kubiak as the new O.C. or any other season.  Besides, the focal point to all of this...at least my focal point...is what Joe's says and he says, that all of that stuff is not the issue.

Kubiak was praised quite a bit last year, definitely not on board with the idea that the OC is only mentioned when the offense plays badly. In fact, many here (including me) expressed a lot of concern about the future of the offense after Kubiak's departure.

I do believe that my post inferes that I'm speaking of this season so how are you cats missing that?  Wow!  Lol!  Besides, once again, Joe didn't voice concerns about the offense due to all of those changes.  That is what I'm focused on in this convo...what Joe says about it!  Address that!

This is what Giants fans were saying about Eli. You need to make it to January though.

it's a safe bet that we will, given our track record since he has been our QB. it was only a few years ago that we started the season 2-3, and ended the year at 11-5 and in the playoffs as per the norm. I'm not hitting any panic buttons any time soon....

c'mon now....he has had 4 OC in the past four years, a new scheme every year...that kind of instability has ruined careers, nevermind the injustice it does the whole offense, who never really get to know the scheme intimately enough to take full advantage of it...but his response is always the same "we're fine, I'm excited, etc"

But flynismo, Ozzie has clearly lost his magic touch. Pees and Trestman are both clearly horrible and we fans just make excuses. We have no chance of going anywhere because our front office is overrated. Sell the franchise and move to Jacksonville! Fire Harbaugh.

Oh.. I'm getting off track again.... I agree with you.. If Babin turns into a decent situational rusher it will cause a domino effect that allows us to take Upshaw out on 3rd down, which means teams will pay less attention to either him or Dumervil. This will cause us to get pressure, and then cause our secondary to play better. The run defense is fine...

Not too worried about Trestman. He'll get better as he adjusts to the personel

You could sneeze in Joe's face and he probably wouldn't say anything about it. Flacco doesn't say much in general.

I already did address it. Joe is not going to say anything negative about anyone around him and that includes coaching changes. The man praised Cam for crying out loud. That does not mean it does not have an adverse affect. How much of one? I don't know.

Didn't wanna go anywhere near this thread but I loved harbaughs response

Now let's see something

I know this!  Here's my focus though...IF Joe is saying (in his interviews) that all of those changes in his tenure of being the QB for the Ravens is not an issue and that the offensive personnel just have to got out there an execute why not believe him?  I mean, most people in here hang on his every word...why not hang on that one?

You could sneeze in Joe's face and he probably wouldn't say anything about it. Flacco doesn't say much in general.

I'm not saying it doesn't but what I am saying is that Joe says it doesn't!  So, why not believe your quarterback?  In essence, Joe isn't using all of those changes as a easy cop out or excuse for why the offense plays badly at times, so why are some fans quick to do so?  Just a sincere observation I have.

I think many of us can relate to that in everyday life, especially at our jobs...when the deck is stacked against you, some people complain, and eventually fold under the pressure. Others view it as a challenge, and have utmost confidence in themselves, and using it as a crutch or excuse is like giving up on themselves. Obviously we know which group Flacco belongs in...excuses are unacceptable to him personally. Doesn't mean that us as fans can not acknowledge when the deck is stacked

Luck is a media darling, but to be honest I don't hear the media bash Joe, they just don't hype him.

They bashed him on Monday Night Football before the game tonight , showing his under thrown pass to Aiken .

I dont think ive seen this mentioned, but i thought crabtree looked pretty good.  I was one of the people that was for entertaining the idea of bringing him in here in the offseason if the price was right.  If Carr can make him look that good, i bet Joe would of really liked having him here.

Yeah he did look good .

What I would like to have seen is a Steve Smith,Torrey Smith ,Perriman combo on the field at the same time .

We completely lack speed on offense .

kendrick lewis..

to this day i don't know why we signed him.

also...courtney upshaw has been a flat out bust. He's just been so irrelevant that only when he's actually been needed or given attention that people are starting to realize that he is a backup in this league at best.

Him and Harrington as well as Webb are awful

That was a pretty bad miss. Joe underthrew that ball 20 yards.

I don't know. This thread is much ado about nothing.  It will all come to a head vs the Bengals. We solve our problems and win against an arch rival and good team that has had our number, or we lose and with our current problems find ourselves in too deep a hole to climb out of.  A win and we're in ....a loss and there will be no January Joe.

This is character time. Our teams character for the year will be defined at M&T Bank on Sunday.

you know, all this going back and forth about the Defense and the Offense.......all we really need on offense is some speed and the defense to trust the corners alittle more and play man to man.

lol....

I want to see what this team's got once they can get back home and into a normal routine.

I know they are better than they have shown so far, and fully believe that they can work out of this little rut that they've started in.

If I'm not mistaken your the "Head" coach. Game on the line YOU need to get the guys in order. Hate all u want but I've seen a coach in New England inspire n continue to remind his players in situations like that...n he's been doing it for a very long time. its a very intense time during a game where emotions run high, plus let's face it some of these guys aren't the sharpest. Coach u need to remind these guys not to commit these penalties. Yea it was dumb but it was dumb for u not to be on top of that just like it was dumb not to challenge SSS catch or call a TO with the game on the line in a championship game...cmon folks Dude is so on the hot seat. The d played week 1 us against the world inspired football. Week 2 they weren't riding for the coach. Prove me wrong boys. If we start 0-3 when we had SB on the mind yea I'll say it's time to panic.

Are you talking about the catch at the end of the Oakland game? If so, no need to challenge that, he was CLEARLY out of bounds. He didn't drag his foot.

Well, in his defense, this is similar to when the Ravens played the Broncos. No one should be surprised that Luck is struggling against a defense with that much talent. That defense is legit.

3 picks one lost fumble . if Flacco had done this he would be crucified here by the haters.

The end of that game was just bad coaching and execution. Wasted TO before the 2 min warning, that only resulted in a fg anyway. Defense couldn't cover or rush and again bad TO management at the end on defense. Wasn't a td given up directly after one was used too?

Flacco doesn't carry his team the way Luck does for one and all those turnovers are still awful. You put Luck on this team and Flacco on the other, I bet we see different results from both. The one area that really separates Flacco from other qbs is his post season play since 11. When he gets there, he turns it on. I'll give him that.

Flacco had one bad pick and should have won the game in Denver but Smith dropped a pass.

I would say Denver's defense is just as good as the Jets or better.

With our receivers,Luck's numbers would drop on our team.

People associate Luck with vets. This is his 4th year and he's essentially varied that team each year he's been there. Since Flacco has been here, there was maybe one season (regular season) where we relied on him and it was his worst statistical season, as well as the teams, since he got here. Besides that, he's had a run game and defense he could lean on. When has Luck had either? If Ozzie wasted a 1st on Trent Richardson, the boards would be condemned from the fire we spewed. Grigson should never have another NFL job.

Id say the Colts have more talent and SPEED on offense. I think Flacco could take advantage of that. I'd argue that Luck on this

team would not succeed like Flacco has let alone in the playoffs.

Flacco is in the playoffs becomes someone else

More talented skill positions. Our o line is much better though.

Flacco also lost all his weapons the year we leaned on him. Q was gone and we lost Pitta to injury. Injury to Rice and Pierce

was MIA. Early in his career Flacco did have the better defense and the run game did help. But over the last couple of years we

have been nowhere near what we use to be. Not as good as we would like to think. Hilton is a better WR at this point than

anybody we have.
