The Good, Bad and Ugly vs Raiders

726 posts in this topic

Bottom of the AFC North basement where we belong. One week defense plays lights out and offense can't do a thing. Next week offense plays well enough to beat most teams and the defense turns into an absolute sieve...I have no idea what to think about this team other than it doesn't look good for next week considering our recent history with Cincy.

a game-ending INT

That's a little harsh. The chance of the Ravens scoring a TD with 24 seconds and 1 TO was practically nil. Flacco definitely deserves the blame for all of his poor throws though, especially that last one to SS in the endzone.

Someone explain to me why any penalties are being enforced on KICKOFFS on the receiving team. Pretty much, any player can cause unnecessary roughness on the kicking PAT/FG team and there be literally no game consequences, as the offense will start at the 20 regardless.

So let's think about this. We're 0-2 now. We're gonna be 0-3 next week, we'll lose in Heinz field so we'll be 0-4 and then we may lose against Cleveland to be 0-5 and basically out if the playoffs by week 5.

Flacco's missed TD throw to Steve Smith Sr, the Jernigan penalty, the porous defensive play the entire game, a DL that didn't dominate or at least match the play of the opposing OL, the bad tackling, inconsistent play of the WR corps outside of Smith Sr, and an OL that can't consistently run block or constantly dominate their opposing DL sealed this game for us.

Will Hill had that great INT that only amounted to a FG, and the LBs played well overall. Gillmore looked awesome. Steve Smith Sr played great and Forsett got some nice yardage when it was there. He fought really hard. I can't think of a lot of good. Hurst looked better. I guess there's that.

KO really looks lost out there. I'm not sure what's happened. I guess injury. Trestman adjusted and did OK. Pees never really adjusted and called a particularly poor game but the players didn't execute very well, either. I'm pretty disgusted by this loss.

Fire Dean Pees today please.  Give us a chance at not being the worst defense for the rest of the season.  Played up at the line for the 2 drives before, 2 stops.  Last drive, everyone play off and zone.  Who the heck plays zone from within their own 10 yard line.  Guy just runs, steps out of the zone, receives ball, td to win the game.  This is just terrible.  All the players for a top 3 defense and we get the soft garbage that gives up 37 points to the Raiders.  Did none of the things that worked last week.  Such a theme with Pees.  Oh this is working, let's not do that.  At this point, I think he is doing it on purpose.  Last year, "oh, our secondary is bad because of injuries."  This year, our secondary is bad because of what?  Make teams beat us, for the love of god.  Don't just give it to them.

He constantly has the CBs play 6-7 yards off when its 2nd and 3 or 3rd and 3. He's a bad DC, just like everyone has been saying. The Pats defense with him wasn't good either. I believe they just got turnovers.

14 games from 0-16. I will no longer defend Pees. His game plan and the players gameplay were just horrible. I had all the confidence in this team to win the super bowl but that ship has sailed. So disappointed in this team today. Not looking forward to watching this team anymore.

only positive is pitt lost to the browns last year and still won the division.... can we still turn it around?

Remember when the Steelers lost to Oakland in 2013 and Ravens fans gave them heck for it? Yeah...

Still we play 5 to 8 yards off of wide outs.... Pees isn't good, our pass rush was terrible. Did we get a sack?

I think JImmy smith got one

I'm not so pessimistic. If we lose next week IN Baltimore, I'll be all in with you

We also went way too conservative at the end.

Bengals 33

Raiders 13

Ravens 33

Raiders 37

Think that sums it up.

This basically. Shouldn't need 40 to beat the Raiders.

Not one. Had pressure like twice all game.

Last throw to Sr in the endzone was a perfect throw.  He had no way of knowing that the defender was going to get picked that much as he through the ball.  That is 100% on Steve Smith.  Perfect throw where nobody but the receiver can make the catch.

Pees needs to be fired, defense can walk home. And I'm warming to the idea of trading for a WR with nobody outside of SSS capable of doing anything.

And Trestman still run 3 WR sets. we should be running double tights or put Juice in. Crocket played with fire today, Maxx doesn't get enough reps and Juice has looked good, but none of our receivers do much of anything other than SSS and he slowed down towards mid season last yr so somebody needs to help out.

Kyle Arrington, why did you stop and let the guy who caught the go ahead TD go right by you without jamming him or staying with him? Unbelievable.

We need to do what we did with Cam and fire Pees before things get worst. We should have never let Teryl Austin go to Detroit with Caldwell. Should have promoted Austin to DC and let Pees walk.

6-10 time to rebuild.

Flacco has to read the d better and trestman experiment needs to end all ready

lol

Can the Pees experiment end? 3 man rush - pathetic.
