Trying to stay optimistic with this team is pretty damn hard at this point. Our 1st rounder JOGGING for the 1st time in over a month is the best thing thats happened to us so far this season. I truly think Will Hill didn't hold and we should be 1-1 right now, but do we even deserve that win for playing so sloppy against the raiders? Something is going to have to click and its pretty much now or never. Digging ourselves out of an 0-3 hole is the last thing this team needs after losing perhaps the 3rd best player in franchise history for the year.

I know it isn't going to happen but I feel like Flacco becoming a more vocal leader would really fire a spark with this team, theres just something about Flacco that makes me interested every time he starts talking and I really think he's the kind of guy that could just light a spark throughout the team (see Week 17 vs. the Browns last year)

This is a must win. We've already lost to 2 AFC teams. Another loss to division rival buries us. Not only that, but the offense needs to show they can do something against the Bengals. The only good memory I have against the Bengals recently is the 12 opener.

You mean BOTH the Ravens offense and defense...right?

I think he was just referencing Flacco's recent difficulties with the Bengals in particular. They do seem to have the offense's number.

They all better get their crap together and perform. I live with a flipping Steelers' fan Ravens! Give me a break here and pull it together!

I meant exactly what I said. The Bengals are starting to become our new Steelers. I think it would go a long way for Flacco's confidence to beat them, regardless of if he says he let's nothing get to him.

Both must show up. Everyone is back for their offense and Dalton looks crisp, the defense needs to be on point, but I think it would be good for the offense to have a good showing against them. The defense must do there job as well, but if he starts out well, the team usually follows.

I dont care whether we play well enough to "deserve" this win or not. I just hope that at the end of the day, we come out on top.

the ravens better get their act together, or it will be a long miserable season.

  1. clean up miss tackles.
  2. clean up stupid penalties. aka jerngan.
  3. run the ball more since our D is struggling to press, play man to man, pass rush.
  4. that vanilla D needs to be scrapped.

I feel good about this game. It's the Thursday night game that has me worried. I do agree though. I don't care if we "deserve" to win. If you win a game in the NFL, you deserved it.

I don't care if we won every game 2-0 the rest for the way. I'm with you. "Just win, baby!"

I don't think a star running back is the answer, because Trestman has abandoned the run in his first two game

No, he hasn't, especially not week one.

Most of our big problems on Sunday were from communication mishaps..

I was fully expecting the lack of pass rush.. Adjusting to the loss of sizzle wasn't gonna be a simple task at all

Coverage can only hold for so long, 2nd year Carr put up 37 without much hassle. If you give Ben, Brady and Rodgers this amount of time they'll easily go for 50+ points.

Thats what ive been saying.  We better hope that Babin can make a difference, if not we are really in trouble.  Im expecting to see some more creative schemes this weekend, if Pees sticks to the same plan as last week, Dalton and Green are going to look like Brady and Moss.  Im usually very optimistic and look on the bright side with your boys, but if we lose this game, its going to be near and possible to have any positive outlook for the rest of the season.  Im very worried what the Steelers offense is going to do to us especially without the likes of Suggs talking trash and putting some fear in Ben.  Who is ben scared of now? someone will have to step up.

At the very least make some noticable adjustments when the usual stuff clearly doesn't work. But yeah, the defense looked good vs. Denver when it played aggresively.

And the CB's can't let the WR's go past them like they did all the time against Oakland *cough* Jimmy *cough* Webb. Inexcusable.

From a standpoint of where we were last year he has so far.  Last year we were a very balanced offensive team and it won us games, at times in the first two games Trestman had us passing on all 3 downs several times.  I don't think we will win many games where Flacco throws the ball 40+ times.  He threw it 45 times against the Raiders and we lost, but I will credit that to the poor defense all game

it seems Pees doesnt use our guys to play to their strength and instead tries to be more of a system.  I may be wrong but thats what i notice.  Any smart qb that sees jimmy 7yards off should audible to some shorter roughts, 4 yards a play is a first down every three downs

Going to take some luck such as an easily dropped pass, blown protections/ coverage's, and maybe a good flag to help out. Bengals are good at everything that gives the ravens trouble, hence the 1/5 record lately. Solid O-line so i'm not to optimistic about getting to Dalton. hopefully Dalton struggles passing and can stop the run. Offense needs to push around the Bengals but  Geno Adkins is back.. optimistic but history says we will have a hard time.

We ran on 1st & 2nd down over 66% of the time in week 1. In no fashion is that abandoning the run. In fact, while he shouldn't have abandoned the run, he should have mixed it up a bit IMO.

I think in week two he went with what was working. The offense got the job done so don't think you can fault Trestman.

Don't like this logic because every opponent and scenario is different. Game plans will be altered significantly when facing those types of offenses. Plus we know Ben & Brady much more than Carr.

I certainly agree we need a better pass rush but I also think executing is just as important. I believe we have very good personnel in place. Let's give em more time to gel together. It's still way too early for me to panic. The next 2 games and 4 that follow will give us a better look of this years team. I just hope if it's not working we can fix it in time.

One area I do put blame on Trestman is in the red zone, where we should have run the ball more instead of trying to throw fade passes to Steve Smith.  I have never seen such a drastic change of play-calling once we get into the red zone compared to the rest of the drive.  In the red zone against Oakland we should have ran the ball more and used play action passing, which is a strength of Flacco's and this offense.  7 redzone trips and only 3 touchdowns tells the whole story about Trestman and this offense so far

In his defense, one trip SSS dropped a td and another was a bad throw.

Smith can't catch in the end zone period. Put him on the sideline inside the 20.

I'm just struggling to understand how this 'very good personnel' could deliver such different performances in the span of 7 days.

I'd love for the D vs. DEN to join the O vs. OAK, that would be a sight to behold! We need a win Sunday - go Ravens!

He hasn't delivered in the redzone lately, but the same can be said for our O in general imo. Seem to get stuck there from time to time.

It's easy to see why they did so well against the Raiders. Just look at their secondary. They, easily, have the worst secondary in the whole league. They will probably let up 300 yards of passing every single week.
