CBS sports says that since 1990, 204 teams have started the season 0-2 and only 23 of those 0-2 teams made it to the playoffs. That's about a 11.2% chance. Losing to Oakland probably doesn't help those odds...

a 6th or 7th round pick ..

because thats what upshaw really is.

Upshaw one of the better edge setters in the league and gets the dirty work done which most fans don't see being done on  the tv screen . The only reason why you don't like him because he's not a sack master which actually wasn't the reason why he was drafted.

you know what. I disagree with you. I think he's an above average edge setter with no other qualities to speak of.

The season not over with . Paul Krugar himself didn't look too great in his contract year  later on in the season in 2012. I'm not saying Upshaw is that good but  anything can happen.

paul at least had some pass rush in him. Upshaw might be the worst pass rusher i've ever seen. I think he should put on a tonne of weight and play backup nose tackle.

Ted washington would be more effective at OLB than upshaw

Upshaw doesn't  show case pass rush skills he's more of bull rush than anything. As I said before the season not over with there alot to figure out with the team . It's no telling how the season may go or how Upshaw may play. He may end up with 5 or 7 sacks.

Krugar may have had more pass rush skills but I remember in 2012 when he looked bad against the run and the pass. It was honestly easy for running backs to run his way with out any trouble at times.

upshaws bull rush is pretty weak too.

There are plenty of players that are undrafted who could do the job upshaw is doing. Lets all get real..he's the epitome of whats wrong with our D. We are SLOW..this is a SLOW team. Outside of Cj mosley and Will hill I see 0 speed .

This is a must win.  If the Ravens lose and you can basically write off the season unless this some crazy year where 8-8 gets a wild card.

- At home we always play better at home the record speaks to that.

- Offense finally showed up and held the pass rush of Mack, Smith, Tuck very well. there were questionable play calls and missed throws and opportunities but they generated some solid production scored 33 points and missed many more that should build confidence but leave a bad taste to get better.

- Division game we know what we are facing and didn't have much turnover from last year players know the opponent.

- To speak to playing the team that beat the raiders.. Rams beat Seahawks lose to the Redskins who lost to Miami who then lose to the Jaguars.. are the jaguars better than the Seahawks? No. NFL is so week to week these days you cant judge one week to the next.

1st home game of the year and stakes couldn't be higher if we lose then we can talk doom and gloom in my opinion.

Part of what hurts so much is how close we came to winning both of the first two games; we could easily be 2-0 if the offense (in Week 1) and defense (in Week 2) had been just SLIGHTLY better. One positive I have is that the Bengals can still become the Bungles at any given time, so maybe they'll pick Week 3 to fizzle out. Beating the Steelers on the road is pretty much impossible given our first two games. Even if we were to start 1-3 though, it's not impossible to make a big comeback from there. The important thing is that the players stay motivated as long as possible.

The Ravens will be ok. They could just as easily be 2-0 right now.

The extended west coast trip I think was probably what tipped the scale against them, and they still managed to light it up on Offense. .

They win these next 3 games, and they are in 2nd place in the division at the very least.

Koolaid

Nice try but hardly. I'm just not going to label a guy bad when he's come off a great game after one big mistake and some dumb penalties. Every player has a bad game.

2-2 is just as possible as 0-4

Thank you K-Dog, someone's got to step to the plate and I'll 2nd that.  We are going to roll the next two weeks!

Winning 3/4 is very doable for this team.  It all starts this Sunday at home vs the Bengals.  I expect Pees to dial up pressure and have our corners jam Green and Jones at the line more.  Saw Mosley injured his knee in the Raiders game, hope he is good to go because him and Hill will be tasked with covering Eifert.  I think we win this game because our backs are against the wall, but I may be optimistic

Believe it or not, I don't. I expect more of the same. As long as we hold them to FGs (better said than done), we might have a chance if our offense from yesterday shows up.

if we are out of the playoffs by week 4-5 I'm rooting for the cardinals to win it all. Larry Fitz deserves it.

If we're out period, I'll root for the Cardinals as well because I want to see Arians bring the chip to Arizona. He's my favorite coach not named John Harbaugh.

The Bengals have a pretty good secondary, they improved on the DL so this could be an even tougher match then what we saw last time.

Oh I remember it well. Most of our wins AND losses could have gone either way that year. Starting to worry this will be another 2013...

And they O-line has been surprising good, Eifert continues to emerge as a top tight end and their WR's are as good as ever still.

even last year people forget how close we were to not making the playoffs. Without Andy Reids help..we wouldnt have made it

maybe its time to wake up and smell the roses..

this team hasn't been a a very good/elite team for a while.

These next two games the ravens are going to have thier butts handed to them, losing a game is one thing, but the way this team played yesterday was just bad football from a badly coached team

Nice try...keep trying. I never said he was bad I just said he didn't play well vs the Raiders.

Going to be very difficult getting to dalton.

Also so much work to score. Everything has had to have been so methodical and laborious. Just as in preseason.

Doesn't look great.

Some things we could do defensively...

1.) Jam receivers and play physical on the outside.  Allow Jimmy to press Green and jam him at the line.  Hopefully Melvin plays and he can jam Jones.  Kick Webb into the slot and allow him to blitz off the edge from time to time.

2.) Dial up blitzes from different spots like we did against Denver.  Bring linebackers up the middle where the Bengals have a young center starting.  Babin should help on the outside and Jernigan/Davis need to step it up.

3.) Play more aggressively overall and allow our players to make plays! Put them in man situations and allow Hill to cover Eifert like he did Graham last year.  Overall we just cannot sit back and let Dalton throw on soft zones, I wouldn't mind seeing Brooks get some snaps this week deep and move Hill or Lewis into a coverage linebacker spot when going to nickel and dime situations

You should take over for Peas

outside of one year we are in the mix every time to make noise in the playoffs since Joe and John have been here. We are always the team nobody wants to face in the playoffs. If that's not elite.... I'm More than OK with that

When the playoffs start, it's anyone's game. You should know that by now.
