Now, we know the defense isn't as good as they appeared against Denver, so hopefully we will learn the defense isn't as bad as they appeared against Oakland either. It's interesting how the offense and defense did a total flip. Wow, I thought a polar shift only referred to Earth's magnetic field.

Webb had the highest rating of our CBs vs Oakland.

Only cuz' Jimmy got burned by Cooper on that one pass play....But yeah...  That just looked really really bad.

In a game we lost by one score, that's a big deal.

Whenever someone predicts a blowout it's always a close game. In fact, some predicted the exact same score of 73-3 in the raiders game. Unfettered optimism has been jinxing us a little lately.

Bengals: 73

Ravens: 3

Let's reverse-jinx, shall we?

I worry about the ravens defense more than the offense in this game.

With no pass rush ( I hope babin comes in and doesn't allow the offense to double team dumervil)  and the weapons cincy has, Dalton will have all day to throw to 3 good receivers, a top tier TE, 2 good rb's and cincy's line is light years better than oaklands.

Baltimore - 20

Cincy - 31

Not really. It's only being honest if you point out the advantages as well. Backs against the wall, home opener, losing the first two away games on the west coast by close margins..........I'd be surprised if the Ravens lose this game.

You're right and you got me dead to rights. Those are legit advantages too.

Game is tomorrow so ill stop being a negative Nelly lol

Go ravens!

All of the chatter this past week doesn't matter!  Game time is in a few hours!  It's about that time for these Ravens to put up, show up or shut up!

Can't remember when the Ravens played such a critical game so early in the season. Got to feel the season is on the line. I think the Ravens will rise up and nip the Bengals in a close one.

What's your plan for neutralizing Dalton and the Bengals offense?

For me, we need more pressure on the QB. We didn't pressure Carr at all and he carved us up. Start Babin and bring a few corner blitzes. We have to rattle Dalton early to have a chance this afternoon.

1 stop the run and keep them in 3rd and long.

2 no penalties.

3 stay discipline, no free lancing

4 for pressure id focus on bitzes up the middle.

bengals have the best o-line from all the teams we faced so far so getting pressure is going to be really tough and  eiffert and green will crate match up problems.

id have jimmy on AJ and hill/brooks on eiffert with lewis being the lone deep safety putting this on the players to not get beat in 1 on 1 coverage.

Our best game imo against the Bengals was another September meeting at the bank on 9/20/2012. In that game, we came out with the hurry up & wore them out quickly, man-handling them the entire game with a 44 - 13 victory. It worked before but we haven't done it since. Let's have some more of that!

How about if we're winning in the 4th quarter we don't play 10 yards off the receiver and give them a 10-15 yard completion every single time. Wouldn't that be nice.

I hope we activated Babin, because I want to see what he can do for us. I want our defensive front to step it up today with their pass rush. We need to play disciplined football on defense and I would not tolerate any ridiculous penalties. I would bring the corners up on the LOS and jam the receivers. I would lean Will Hill to the side of Webb, Melvin, Davis (whoever starts) to give them some help and would tell Lewis to get ready to lay the wood on AJ Green if he gets by Jimmy with a catch. Since Dalton can be rattled, there would be NO three man rushes today from us!

Don't play like a bunch of idiots like last week.

If your offense scores over 30 in any game I think you should be getting a W, horrible outing by our defense last week

Hope we are able to put pressure on Dalton this week. If so, Dalton will not be having the level of success he has in the prior 2 games. Hope Pees learned something from last week's fiasco other than blame failures all on player execution and took some responsibility to change his strategies which did not work. If so, I think we will see a much improved defense this week....and we need them for 60 minutes, not 58. Expecting our players to be amped up and give us a critical win today.

Blitzing alot might actually be foolish considering they have one of the best lines in the game. I don't trust Webb or Arrington 1 on 1 without help. But we should always stay in the receivers face. No more playing off the receiver 10 yards. A little more press cover 3 might help out.

Dalton actually doesn't usually play well against us, it's just that Flacco usually plays REALLY BADLY against the Bengals defense.

Joe is going to have to find his "playoff Joe" mojo today. This game has a similar level of desperation so I hope Joe is able to dial in to that playoff mentality today.

Personally if we're winning in the 4th quarter run, run and more run. Keep that suspect 4th quarter fail defense off the field.

On of those 9 to 11 min drives the Steelers used to do routinely.

Aaaaand Babin's not playing AGAIN! he's a pass rusher! How complicated could the playbook be?

I don't know that it's the playbook because Harbs said he could have played Sunday against the Raiders. This is just Harbs having a lot of faith in the young guys, probably misplaced, honestly.

My exact thought when I get the notification.  I doubt his job would have been that much more complicated than "sack the QB" so I can't figure out why he's inactive again.  Especially after all the "he could play this week" talk leading up to the Raiders game

Great pickup of Babin. Let's not even play him. Who cares about the playbook. 3rd down he should be able to go in and understand to just rush the passer.
