Next up: Cincinnati Bengals

We've had all of two games, and one of them we looked like a number 1 D. I doubt our D is truly as bad as week 2.

But is it as good as Week 1; that's my concern.

We're probably getting crushed this weekend, and will likely be 0-4 by the end of next Thursday... unless something drastic happens, because this D (and team) just isn't good enough. Plus, the Bengals have had our number recently. Not good!!

I hope that I eat my words because I love this team, but I'm being realistic at this point :(

Thank you for being a realist. I totally agree with you. Even without AJ Green the Bengals are just too much and then the short week against the Steelers and we have to start thinking about next year which is so sad - I wanted so much more this year.

The NFL has wanted parity for a long time and they are finally getting it, e.g., Oakland beating us.

Most games come down to one or two big plays on either side of the ball. The two teams we've played

have made the big plays with the game on the line but we haven't. Ravens fans who have underestimated

the loss of Terrell Suggs should consider all of the big plays he has made in critical situations.

Our defense does not even remotely resemble the intimidating defenses we have had in recent years.

Neither does our offense. That being said, we have been competitive in both of our first two games.

Why have we been competitive despite having lost Ray Rice, Dennis Pitta, Torrey Smith, Jacoby Jones

and Anquan Boldin as well as an All-Pro center on offense and Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Haloti Ngata,

Terrell Suggs (this season), Jimmy Smith (last season), Paul Krueger, Ellerbe, Pollard, Ihedigbo et

al on defense since the end of 2012? The answer is clear.

This season is looking eerily reminiscent of 2005, not 2007. In '05, we wound up with a record of

6-10. There is only one reason we will wind up with a better record than that this year and, again, the answer is clear for those knowledgeable fans who are willing to admit it. So, what is it?

Quite frankly, there is very little difference between a 6-10 team and a 10-6 team, especially when

the league has achieved its goal of parity.

Fortunately, the Cincinnati game will not be played on paper. It will be played on the M&T Bank field on Sunday and we will win because "a hungry dog hunts best." Some of you loyal, stalwart fans have

already thrown in the towel and are looking forward to next year's draft. Its a good thing for Coach Harbaugh that you're just fans, rather than players. Unless SSS gets a cheap flag for pulling down a 6'-2" defender on a game-winning catch & run or one of our defenders tips a ball into the waiting

hands of A.J. Green who scores a TD, we'll win by a field goal by a score of 31-28. But really, if we have no chance to win, as some of you seem to suggest, why even play the game? What I love about our team and admire is that they never quit playing. Sounds like many "fans" on this blog have already

quit on the team after two close losses and exciting finishes. Well, as the old saying goes, "quitters never win and winners never quit."

Alright Ravens' fans. Just remember, not that long ago, this happened....

itcouldhappentoyou_zps4w4ymvhf.jpg

Eerily similar circumstances as we go to Week 3 to face the Bengals.

Let's turn this around Ravens!

You know what realists predicted? A loss in Denver in the playoffs. To all who predicted that I say shame. SHAME! It's a thing of beauty when nobody believes in you but the ones who got your back. Thankfully I'm sure the "0-4ers" won't be in attendance at the game.

I feel good about our WRs for this game. Steve should be able to do well, and Aiken has me optimistic about that Oakland game, Im sure hes gained plenty of confidence from that 4th QTR run after stepping up. As for Breshad, I don't know if he'll be active for this game, not enough PT. If he were he would prob. just be a decoy similar to how Torrey was used at that Miami game. I also expect Gilmore will be very productive.

All this means is that the Giants will win the SB this year, not the Ravens.

The Giants were 0-2, and they just beat the Redskins in week 3.

Didn't realize the Ravens were the only franchise in the league to never start 0-3.

Unfortunately I see that streak being snapped this weekend.

At this point, ill be pleasantly suprised if we can avoid 0-4.

The Bungles are going to stack the box. There will be one on one chances down the field lets see if someone can get behind them deep.

Again with the "realistic" crap. It's not realistic, its Pessimistic!

Whatever dude. The reality if the situation is that things aren't looking good. That's not pessimism. That's calling it how it is. Feel free to stick your head in the sand if false comfort is your thing though.

Yeah, truly is pessimism and not "calling it like it is". The reality is that the Ravens just opened the season with two away games on the west coast and while losing both, were in position to win at the end of both. Reality is also playing at home usually provides a distinct advantage and could very well be what they need to turn things around.

That's not sticking your head in the sand, it's taking an optimistic view of the facts.

I can empathize with those who have google-eyed heartfelt team spirit and would mistake realism for being pathetic. However all of us Raven fans will take an emotional tumble this year with our team but those of us who are realistic and have the ability to recognize the writing on the wall with have the shortest distance to fall.

thank you. Seems that many people here mistake being "objective" with being downright negative. No way you can define a team from just 2 games. Not to mention they were both on the west coast and we haven't even played a home game yet.

Anyway- anybody got anything on will hill missing practice? I guess Monroe is still in the concussion protocol too..

Either way we will be fine without him, I just really hope talioferros foot is alright & he's good to go.i can see him having a breakout game here sooner or later.

If we're 0-4 feel free to blow your top off. Right now lets just be patient and wait. My Sundays are sacred to me so lets just wait for GameDay.

I'd like to say that I have a lot more confidence in us winning Sunday than I do next Thursday, but Flacco hasn't looked good against the Bengals in years. We also have had a better offense than we do at the moment in years prior. Hopefully our defense decides to show up because I feel that this will be a low scoring game.

You're not lying about that, we need Flacco to turn it up. The last great game he had against the Bengals was at the 2012 Season... I think....We need him. As far as better offense? Nah. We have a better offense than when we last beat them...much much better.

Well then he is do.  Count this one as a win!

Canty, Perriman, and Monroe all ruled OUT vs CIN.

Canty being out concerns me b/c he's the only true veteran presence on the DLine.

Will Hill (knee) and CJ probable

Taliaferro and Tray Walker questionable.
