[News] Eisenberg: Why Ravens Need To Ignore Who They're Playing

52 posts in this topic

This is true the ravens dominated bad teams last year, which is why we will dominate them this sunday. We are facing the worst team in the league this year, I don't understand everyone's fear. Do you think we are the worst team in the league as well?

One can never under estimate a Jack Del Rio defense. Not having their regular starter safeties does not mean that much. Yes, I agree that the Ravens need to bring their A game on Sunday.

It's too early in the season to predict what are the good or bad team. In 2008 no thought the Ravens would be in the AFC Championship game with a rookie QB and new Head coach and 2007 losing season. Who knows where the Raiders will be as the season continues. Ravens just need to start winning games.

Our Offense was!

It won't be this week though.

Eisenberg, Are you kidding? The Ravens themselves are a losing team right now. They have not won a game since the first pre-season game. They better step it up in Oakland. They have the Bengals next week and we all know how that has been going for us lately. Then throw in the Steelers the week after. A bleak picture as I see it even if they win out in Oakland. The team needs to get healthy real fast and get those slackers off of the bench.

The Ravens biggest concern is how they adapt to their complete change in routine. Staying out west, practicing in foreign territory. Coach Harbaugh and all the coaches have been on top of that for sure, Go Ravens! Coach probably has the team chewing on razor blades.

2 things we need to see this weekend. A shutdown defense and some smart play calling that results in points going onto the scoreboard. Anything less is a disappointment. Do not want to see a statements like "we have to do better" in the news on Monday morning. Do the job that you get paid for like the rest of us have to do.

Does this mean we are the worst if we lose? I can't stand when we keep doing the same thing on offense when it's not working at all. Sometimes you have to pass to open up the run. If you're getting pressured there's plays to beat that and keep them honest. Redirected runs, screens, quick slants, moving the pocket, etc. I think the problem is Joe's progression is 90% of the time Primary rec -> checkdown. If we're going to lose at least mix it up a bit and get these other guys in the game. I'm sure it's hard to keep players engaged with the same vanilla plays/gameplan week after week. Let's hope for a blow out and harbaugh doing the nene in a circle tomorrow evening.

My observation is that the Ravens seem to play at the level of their opponent. Just seems that way to me. I have not made a study of it.

Let me tell you why there is so much fear.  Remember Jacksonville a few years back.  We went to play them on their turf and we were the favorite, the PROHIBITIVE favorite.  There was no way Jacksonville could win.  Well, . . . . . . they DID win.  We were flat and looked like dogmeat, which is what we were on that unfortunate day.  A 'Jacksonville' can happen on any given Sunday.  That fear that you sense is the healthy fear of reality . . . . and the inspiration for a maximal effort every time our Ravens step on the field.  Go Ravens!  And don't stop playing to the max till the final whistle blows!

The Ravens just have to stop beating "THEMSELVES"! Once again they were in a position to win and threw it all away! If Joe throws 2 more INTs I'm sorry but he will have to be benched! The pats game still got me irked and back to back against the broncos SMH!

That was 2011 against Jacksonville, a Monday night game suppose to be a walk in the park for the Ravens. Blaine Gabbert was Jasksonville rookie QB, and the Ravens did nothing the entire game. I hope to never see another game like that, worst game they ever played IMO in the John H era!!!!!!!!!!!!

This article is so true. You would think that with only 16 regular season games this would be a well known fact, but as fans we know that on any given Sunday an upset can happen and it usually does every week.

I never forgot the Browns and Bills games the Ravens lost in 2013. I clearly remember being stunned and could not believe what I was seeing. I could not shake the shock the whole week after those loses, but hey, the players had to deal with it worse than we fans cause they played the games, we just watch'em. I think the Ravens will bring their A game. Just play good football and come back home with a win. I'll be happy with that regardless of score and refocus on the path to the division title against Bengals and all will be well again. Go get'em boys! Go Ravens!

20 pts is all that was needed in years past and 20pts was all that was needed Sunday! Defense even threw in 7 pts! What happened to this squad getting 20pts by the half?! Different faces so what HIT'EM UP they will produce but you got to get them into the flow of the game even if they drop the first two passes their way! Flacco is getting time to get his INT throwing self together so should everyone else!

No blame on Flacco on Pats game, Torrey never tried to go after the ball aggressively. I guarantee SSS would have gone after that ball like a dog chasing a thrown pork chop without calculating the risk of injury.

riiiight bc they were all joes fault and he didn't throw 4 Tds In the pats game givin us 2 14 point leads. And he didn't put the game winning td in the receivers hands twice in a row last week. And I'm sure matt Schaub would never throw interceptions. What is wrong with you people ?

BERNARD POLLARD just worked out with the RAIDER'S,GOD help FLACCO without MONROE.

3 teams since 2010, locker room cancer, can't control his temper on field. Known more for hitting than finesse in coverage. Released by Titans this past March, there is a reason no team went after him. I say let Raiders sign him, he is past his prime anyway and chances are we will add more yards from his penalties.

Ravens need to go to a two running back backfield formation. This will enable Joe an extra count or two to throw the football and the benefit of a lead blocker for runs. Expect to see short quick passes to wide outs and backs, and block and catch patterns from the TEs. Baltimore brings home its Bravado. Get the football, keep the football!

They need to pretend they're playing the Patriots in the playoffs, they always play them so hard. All we need to do is protect Joe and establish a run game, the big plays and long passes will come.

in school I played fast-pitch softball, basketball and until my freshman year football. As soon as I put my uniform on I was ready for any team and gave 100%. I don't understand how, if you love the game, you can NOT leave it all on the field EVERY game no matter who you are playing.

Since everyone is preparing for the apocalypse this sunday, may I point to the lions den quote from Brian Billick?. I thought you were ravens fans, show no fear, be relentless. I thought this city was tough, dang what is being afraid going to accomplish besides raise our blood pressure. LOL we got this, trust me tomorrow we will be celebrating a W.
