[News] Who's Playing, Who's Not vs. Raiders

90 posts in this topic

Watching KC vs Denver I realized those two (Ware and Miller) are going to be a nightmare for every oline as long as they are healthy. Monroe or no Monroe, that game plan that did not include draws, slants, hurry up, would not have worked anyway. Kubiak was a great in-game play caller. I need to see that from Trestman. Raiders will try the blitzing at home with crowd noise. Ravens must be prepared. I think having Jernigan back is a huge boost. Jernigan, Davis, Williams will dominate the line of scrimmage.

Thank you! People need to rewatch that Denver game and realize just how badly our tackles were getting beat all game long off the snap by Ware and Miller. I felt our tackles sucked and then I watched those two do the same to KCs tackles. That Ware/Miller combo is not kidding around. Both are playing extremely well with incredible burst at the L.O.S.

Ours may have been the first oline to be embarrassed, but it definitely won't be the last.

There's an unfortunate phenomenon people will observe by visiting teams to loud stadiums - that of the right guard looking back to get the queue from the QB and then tapping the center to snap the ball. Unfortunately Misters Ware and Miller are also watching that later in the game and jumping the snaps. It's a personal pet peeve of mine and really annoying. They're basically announcing when the ball is going to be snapped.

You couldn't have watched the game if you think that was all Flacco fault. He did not have any time to even plant his feet to throw the ball. I don't care who you are if you don't have time to throw you can't move the ball.

I can't remember if it was Q or Stan from our radio brodcast, but one of them said that Eugene Monroe will solidify the left tackle position for us just like Jonathan Ogden. Still waiting to see that.

Monroe was getting beat constantly before he "got hurt". More and more it seems that he is not the answer for the Ravens there. Perriman, another media sensation before he even catches an NFL pass. I have a bad feeling about him, just as I did when the Ravens foolishly used a number one pick for him. Did anybody bother to watch how he dropped balls in college? Do they really think he will do better in the NFL? Who are they kidding?

My God...i really hope that Perriman gets back soon. i hope that he just kicks the doors in. Im so sick and tired of everyone talking all this trash about him, Ozzie, and this team drafting plaryers. They font deserve to be fans here. They dont deserve to be commenting on this team or Breshad...if you read this forum and comments, please get back in the lineup and lace Nfl Networks highlight reel with the stuff that Ozzie and the Brass saw in you. Then i can come back and really lay the wood on all these fake fans in Baltimore.

Don't know about the rest of you , but I am sick of hearing and reading about Perriman not being able to play. This guy needs to man up and get his butt into the lineup and earn his pay. If he is the player that they say he is, then he needs to suit up and show us that he is no fluke. We always seem to have one of these players every year that sits on the bench because of some mystery injury. I bet that he can move around real well on a basketball court though.

We need a left tackle that wants to PLAY LIKE A RAVEN. Monroe was hurt all of training camp, got beat badly the only set of downs in Denver. He doesn't have the heart nor could he care about his teammates. Need to sign a left tackle next year but we have our 2 best guards entering free agency. Love our Ravens but next year could be tough. We need to make our run this year. Ozzie please find a left tackle

I watched our game against Denver again last night. Ware and Miller came so fast that our guys were constantly steps behind them. Rather than blocking the Denver duo, our tackles were chasing after them from behind sometimes. Looked like Hurst and Wagner were wearing cleats that weighed 100 lbs each and couldn't react quickly enough at the snap. I surely am hoping for better this week.

A 38.2 passer rating is Not elite. It's not good, average, fair or poor. It's pathetic. Blame everyone else on the offense if you want, but jump ball Joe blew the Denver game singlehandedly, just like last year, with two straight ridiculous picks to seal big time losses. Heck, Foles put up 34 and a 115 rating against the best D in the league last week. All Flacco needed to do was hand the stinkin' ball off, and not blow it. Should be able to win, when the D gives up twelve! Take control of this team, Joe. You're the leader, not Marc! ACT LIKE IT!

We did only play 1 game so far right? Away against Denver right? Stop the griping it's a long season. Thought our fans were a little brighter than this with all the crying!!!!

I'm a ravens fan but let be honest, this team is going nowhere this year, they just don't have the horses to fight the good fight 6-10 at best.

don't be surprised if Oakland beats them 31-20 Oakland.

I would not be.  I hope for any kind of W, however, a lot of the Koolaid drinkers may be disappointed!

I saw alot of positives in taking that "L" Sunday so I'm not gonna trip but when they are in an environment like that you gotta take control of the game from jump and go no huddle or just keep them three and four wide and pass till they break! The run game isn't going anywhere and will prolly get even more yardage in the 2nd half with less wear and tear!

I just want to see what this week brings. If the o-line and the offense plays poorly this week against the Raiders and Trestman makes no adjustments again at halftime, then I will be very discouraged. This team usually responds after a loss and staying out west should give us the extra time to prepare. I feel confident that we can get a win this week, but I can't imagine how venomous these boards will be if we start 0-2. I actually really hope that we dominate this week!

My Purple Oracle has predicted that our defense will prevail over their offense, thus giving our potential, vanilla offense many more chances to convert to the 'rocky-road'- a road TO VICTORY, nonetheless !

Go MAALOX. GO RAVENS !

Guys, stop making excuses, we should have won Sunday, one catch and one less interception made the difference. Got to stop playing Cameron ball, high school stuff.

Also, change the midfield logo and let Tucker sing the national anthem.

Please correct me if needed- isn't Joe due 26 million next year against the cap

I like Joe, I root for Joe, (of course, being a Ravens fan.) But let's face it, if it weren't for a wing and a prayer heave to Jones in Denver three years ago, I'm not sure if he would even be here.  Maybe it's just me, but a guy who's been in the league for seven years, and has never had ONE 400 passing yard game isn't worth the dough they're paying him.  I REALLY hope the game last week opened his eyes, and he realizes, he's GOT to lead this team!

Do you seriously care about his yards? His win-loss record is WAY more important to me. ,

Although we have great coaching and leadership, I think one of our weaknesses is mid-game adjustments. Hopefully, Trestman will change what needs to be changed. I always think that we play way too few quick slants as well.

@MODERATOR 3: Its NOT his win, loss record- it is THE RAVENS win, loss record. If the Ravens did not have the 'defense' that they have had- Joe would have 'won' peanuts. We'll see where Joe evolves and makes adjustments this year. Being in the league for 8 years, you would think.....

Hmm, wouldn't call that a wing and a prayer throw. Bottom line is JJ got behind the corner and went deeper than the safety thought Joe could throw, he was wrong. And I'll take Joe's 11 TDs and zero INTs on the way to winning the SB over a season of 400 yrd games. Heck, he even threw for 8 TDs in last years 2 post season games. Besides, if Bmore wasn't a run first O and invested it's drafts, trades, etc. in WRs, Joe would be throwing 400 every game. It's not a matter of him not being able to throw 400 yards, we're just not built that way.

Actually, the past several years our D has been middle of the pack or slightly above. Yes, Joe and the OC have laid up some stinkers over the years, but so has our D. Case in point, last years post season loss to NE. The D lost a 14 point lead....TWICE!

seemed to me that the "defense" is what gave up 2 14 point leads against the pats in the divisional last year. From what I remember joe single handedly kept us in that game and threw 4 td passes, and should have been 6 had Owen Daniels not dropped 1 off his hands and Torrey had actually kept running and made a play on the ball.

I really thought we were past this stuff and then one week into the season you start hearing the bench joe talk. Unbelievable.
