[News] Receivers Eager To Prove People Wrong After Opener

57 posts in this topic

Everyone calm down... its one game... the o-line struggle that's bottom line couldn't run the ball...and if speed was missing factor then no disrespect to T Smith but he one catch for 11 yards...isn't quite cutting it either... no matter who you have out there... if your QB doesn't have time to pass... then how can he?? Remember Manning only had 175 yds off of 40 passes... and he has two of the top ten WR's in terms of production and he couldn't do much... so Ravens Fans R-E-L-A-X

The passing game will be much better this Sunday and then we will face the Bengals at home for possible first place tie in AFC North, perfect timings to get things back on track.

I don't understand how we have Jah Reid here for all those years and he barely plays and then I see him pushing people around on the starting Offense for KC....is harbs a bad eye for talent?

Sometimes people need a change of scenery to achieve better results.

sounds to me like joe flacco needs to be calling the plays himself. hes been our starter long enough to understand what works and what doesnt. He is smart and knows when to run, pass, playaction and gun sling it. Trestman is a great offensive guy, but he needs to be listening to Joe a little more then the reverse. Joes a winner and he needs the freedom to take the lead. If derek mason could do what he did, our corp of wrs can also. fly routes arent the key with this current bunch. Being physical and burning dbs with double moves and crossing routes is key. open the intermediate game up please!TEs, and Rbs in the flats too

Before Joe's interception it was 2nd and 6 Ravens had one wide receiver and Denver had 9 in the box. Gee I wonder why they lose a yard.

Perrimans absence is hurting the Ravens, he was supposed to take T. Smiths place. They need to sign a vet wide receiver.

There isn't anyone out there that's better than what we already have.  People keep naming players but most of them had about 200yds last season, and guys like that aren't what we need right now.  Teams like the Cowboys and Redskins need a receiver more than us with their number one receiver going down and the Skins haven't made a move and the Cowboys traded with the Raiders for a guy that didn't even play week one.

Our only proven receiver is 36 years old and now getting over the hill- and we have three no name receivers. We won't be getting any separation. Perriman isn't the answer either, at least not for a while- do you think he can come right in and expect to have his timing / routes down with Flacco? No... Like Ozzie messed up with the corners last year, he messed up with the receivers this year. We shouldn't have expected Perriman to come in and be that lone speed guy. At least when Torrey came in, we had another speedster in Jacoby Jones who was also a very effective returner- something we are also struggling with. We should've at least kept Jones- we will not be making the playoffs this year unfortunately. How do you run an offense without any speed in today's offense?

I think we need to get Camp and the TEs more involved. Camp gets separation quick and is shifty, and the TEs are an important part of the offense so I would like to see more of them. Marlon is good at back shoulder throws and catching over the middle so if Joe can get some protection, then theres the deep plays right there. I view this as a confidence booster game for the offense, 3 offensive TD and that offense feels brand new and pumped.

Marlon, Aiken and Steve Smith are a Solid Group. Definitely need more Tight End looks, and screens to Justin and Juice...None of the WR or TE personnel matter without the O line giving Joe a Pocket to throw form. I'm thinking Joe has a big day Sunday.

The Biggest problem last week was questionable offensive game plan. Ware is an all pro and you leave hurst, an undrafted rookie to block him with no help. Joe did not have time to look for receivers. Also, you have a 6'6" TE and do not scheme ways to get him one on one.

He's a mismatch. Just get him the darn ball.

We will be just fine. When Perriman returns it will be icing on the cake. Meantime we have guys that can play. They just need that chance to prove it, and time is now.

Marlon had the only really big play out of the WR corp the entire game. Perhaps if Flacco went to him and Camp more, and not target Smith 7 times when the dude only catches 2 of those passes, we might get somewhere.

I always say that action speak louder than words and show me what you can do instead of telling me. But people always come up with excuses, if you can do better than do it on the field, someone said we know we can do better, the coaches know we can do better, than do better is what I say. Understand talking and actually doing it is two different things okay, so show Ravens Nation what the Ravens can really do!!!

You know first downs lead to touchdowns, so you don't always need to throw the bomb, take what the defense will give you and don't try to force it, when there's an easy first down. For as long as we can keep the opposing defense on the field the tireder they will get and when they get tired that will open up room for the bomb, I'm just saying!!!

The passing game "struggled"? Really? Is that what you call it when it outright sucks? In the first half the offensive line sucked. In the second half, Flacco sucked. His best pass was to the other team and turned into a td for them. That wounded bird that he threw up to end our chances was absurd. Our tight end had no chance on that ball. An "elite" quarterback would have had more sense than to throw it up for grabs. Just ugly.

Did you watch the same game? Just curious because "that wounded bird that he threw up to end our chances" was right in the tight ends hands. He had both his hands on the ball but the defender knocked the ball out. I won't argue the ball should have been higher with a TE that tall but to say the TE had no chance when the ball was clearly in his hands and knocked out, is just foolish hate talk... Steve Smith should have caught the pas before that play.

The big reason the passing game struggle is because the o-line stunk the whole game, there were few if any plays they actually gave good protection.

What offense? Receivers, we have some? Are they sitting on the bench next to Perriman? It's time to actually "play like a Raven" people. The season has begun. Get it in gear. As for Tresstman and his game plan, where is it? SOS every year.

Trestman play calling was brutal last game

If I can predict what we were going to do all game, I know Wade Phillips had no problem on Sunday. All they needed to do was stack the box on first down and blitz on second and third. A little play action would have been nice. The vanilla/predictable playcalling, with no adjustments in the second half to even try to help Joe with all the pressure he was under, was very disheartening. It really felt like Kubiak's playbook from last year was completely tossed out the window and Cam Cameron was back on the sidelines. I hate to be so negative, but I can not help how I feel. I am just being honest. I will try to keep an open mind this week that things will get better after watching film of what did not work against the Broncos this past Sunday. Hopefully, Trestman is not set in his ways - the way Cam Cameron was!

They have enough arrows in their quiver to win. Perriman is not the be all and end all for Joe or the Ravens. It's too early to be thinking upgrades, but that Ole Miss DE Robert Nkemdiche is someone to keep an eye on. Three hundred pounds and he moves like Mosley.
