[News] Two Of NFL's Best Young Defenders Squaring Off

14 posts in this topic

When Ray Lewis retired, I imagined a huge, unfillable void at LB. Yet Ozzie found another gem in Mosley, an exceptional talent who will leave his own legacy. Making the Pro Bowl as a rookie, Mosley has shown that his amazing talent is already worthy of nation-wide recognition. Hoping Mosley spends his entire career as a Raven.

Ozzie did an absolutely awesome job recognizing how talented C J Mosley is and grabbing him in the draft. The real surprising thing to me is that C J was even available for us. I thought he would have gone earlier and that we never would have had a shot at him without moving up a bit if Ozzie really wanted him. I'm just real glad that we have found such a talented MLB to continue getting superior performance from the position after the Ray Lewis era. Thank you, Ozzie, and especially, C J Mosley.

I am really glad the Ravens were able to pick Mosley. We had bigger needs at inside linebacker than outside so it was a no brainer plus Mosley was the best linebacker that fits the Ravens defensive style coming from Alabama, we got lucky getting Mosley. I am more concern about blocking Mack than how Mosley will play because Mosley always play well. 2 more days. After a long off-season, noticed how days seems to go by fast once football season begins? lol

I must say, Daryl Smith and CJ have really made the transition from Ray Lewis seamless...as long as they stay healthy, we can get 1 more year outta D. Smith

Well....if the redheaded stepchild Andy Dalton and crew can hand K. Mack then we should be OK too! C.J. is amazing, can't wait to see him play each week, PLAYMAKER! GO RAVENS!

Not really fair considering the team we played, just played another game.  Also, they held us to worse numbers than we held them to.

Yes they have.  Would love to find a thumper to pair with CJ, when Smith is gone.

As good as Ray Lewis? I'll be pleasantly shocked. I don't believe Mosley can be as good as Ray, and it's not a knock on him. Ray played way too many years, and because he was still very good towards the end(no where close to his prime) many seem to remember him for these later years. In his prime, Ray Lewis was widely regarded as the best player in the NFL across all positions, in QB dominated league. A 2003 poll of all 32 NFL head coaches had Ray overwhelmingly voted as the best NFL player. I love Mosley's play, but I just can't see him attaining that Ray Lewis level of dominance. It's not even fair to the young fellow to place such expectations in him.
